Well she's just delivered her maiden speech at No 10. Usual blah. The most interesting point was her blaming the energy crisis solely on Putin. She absolutely is going to be as hawkish on Russia as Bojo. In her last hustings before election she said Putin ruined any chance of peace when he broke the Minsk 2 agreement - a blatent lie. The woman has to act on the energy crisis which may mean some reversal of the insane green policies but there have been insiders quoted as saying 'she's nuts' so who knows what's coming down the road for us here....

Seems Truss cheated on her husband in 2004, and still got elected pm. It destroyed the guys political career.

Thanks for this. Always enjoy Kassam's no-holds-barred takes, but kept forgetting that he exists. With your post, I fixed that by signing up.

Truss' wildly-unjustified level of self-assuredness is downright dangerous. You may recall that, when confronted (well, trolled) as UK Foreign Secretary by Lavrov in February as to whether the UK recognized Russian sovereignty over the Rostov and Voronezh regions (very much located within Russia since, well, late Muscovy), she angrily replied that UK would fight for the self-determination of all people against aggressors. Unlike a normal person caught off-guard, she didn't reply "well, we're not talking about that." Instead, the plowed ahead in her ignorance. Again, very dangerous with all the looming crises requiring deft handling.

Don Surber:

ITEM 4: Just the News reported, "Liz Truss, a hawkish diplomat who has drawn comparisons to Margaret Thatcher, was chosen Monday by the Britain's Conservative Party to be the country's next prime minister."

The comparison is she ain't Thatcher.

Her top 4 cabinet officers will include zero white men as a nation that is 86% white suffers white guilt. It is nationcide and it is not on your side.

O/T

The big problem w Biden's Red Sermon is that it claims MAGA is a treasonous assault on *Democracy*, on the very *State* itself.

When, in fact, MAGA is loyal, virtuous and patriotic.

It is merely an assault on the politics of the Left, on the politics of 'Joe Biden'.

There is an enormous difference.

Well, they don't call us "Perfidious Albion" for nothing. We seem to be behind so much of this shit. I think we're going to get a bit of payback this winter.

Yes, Mark, the winter of discontent is, as you say, fast approaching…mid-term train wreck for the Left in November, and, potentially a Prometheum Trump come-back in 24 which would totally upset the US/UK (hello, Steele and co.) applecart, allowing (?!) Trump to intervene and help negotiate “peace” between the feckless Euros and Russia…which is why the DS continues to defame T by linking him to all things Russian - the very same animus the Brits direct(ed) against a would-be rival empire…I always found trying to delegitimize Trump’s 2016 victory as enabled by Russia was keystone coppish - now, I’m beginning to see how it’s all connected. Thank you again for all your dogged research and spot-on analysis!!

Hah! I saw a tweet of Bojo's famous "buy a new tea kettle and save 10.99 in energy expenses". The caption was, Never doubt that they're laughing at you.

Truss is groomed for the role as UK PM. She is appointed by the Black Nobility and is remarkably obedient to them.

I warned about her in April....

Why is the Fed taking this path?

The Fed is doing QT per Wolf:

https://wolfstreet.com/2022/09/05/by-how-much-can-the-fed-cut-its-assets-with-qt-feds-liabilities-set-a-floor/

I read the article and comments a couple of times. My eyes are glazed over.

Basically slowly backtracking non QE, that created a huge amount of dollars and created a lot of bubbles / over inflated assets. Lots of easy money, that got wasted. And has resulted in inflation.

I don’t think the Fed cares much about WEF, and does not see digital currencies as much of a threat.

The Fed is focused on their own preservation. Europe and WEF are just collateral damage.

Major Threats the Fed is aware of:

- Europe on a path to a severe economic crises. The Russia energy stupidity/ green energy policies are just speeding it up. So the Fed is no longer bailing out the Europeans.

- High inflation due to out of control government spending, Covid, war on non renewable energy, etc.

- bubbles in stocks, crypto, and real estate.

- China real estate bubble

- Reduction in us as worlds reserve currency

- movement away from settling trade in US dollars.

- danger of hyper inflation.

The Fed is slowly reducing the amount of dollars, which should be slowly reducing the amount of easy money available, while at slowly increasing interest rates. The Fed is trying to slowly deflate the financial bubbles that qe caused.

What happens if a too big to fail financial hedge fund, etc. goes Lehman Brothers?

Nigel Farage labeled her Theresa May 2.0

She is very green, was anti Brexit, and is lukewarm on controlling immigration.

And will have a cabinet majority women and people of color!

What’s not to like…

What an out of touch elitist. Next government after her will be labor. I wonder how long she will last?

OK, by now I would not blame anybody here for calling me a Luongo fanboy. The evidence of the fanboydum in my previous posts is irrefutable. But come on the guy has to be proven wrong yet. All he says just makes sense.

As a minor contretemps, I would not agree at this point that the actions between the Fed and Russia have been coordinated. It is just that they have a common enemy and it is so brutally obvious to both parties what the weaknesses of that enemy are.

What I don't know and what Luongo has not addressed is what happens to Europe after all the economic and political carnage plays out (for example if the EU implodes). Russia has talked about getting the "Nazis" out of European governments (and also out of the U.S.). How would that happen and what would it look like? Now if we have a second Trump administration I wouldn't worry about any true Nazis here - I am sure Trump will be expeditious in rooting them out. But what about the EU and individual governments there? How many of those governments will fall and what will replace them? The social unrest likely to occur there in the interim is not a pretty picture to contemplate - but it may well be the best thing that could happen for Europe's future. The question is, who will determine that future?

Expand full comment

I think you've answered your own question about us Euroweenies, Dis. There will be massive social upheaval. After that, the governments in residence will probably get very heavy handed (think CRS against Gilets Jaunes) but will still be overthrown. The danger then is that the pendulum may swing too far the other way. We may get some replacements who are patriotic and sensible like Orban; but we may also get a whole slew of nasty strongmen who use the excuse of saving their nations to go full Mussolini. Whatever happens, it Europe will look very, very different in a few years time. Interesting times to be alive!

Re the Fed and Russia, Luongo and Mercouris had a discussion on Crypto Rich last week on that topic. As I recall they more or less agreed that while coordination may not be demonstrated, a confluence of interests has led to what looks like that.

That makes sense. Thanks.
