Poor Lebanon is going to suffer, but it's more likely that it's Israel that is at an apocalyptic crossroads. Or to extend the traffic metaphor, it's heading down a dead-end street.
It’s not just Israel. Ubiquitous adoption of DIGITAL tech is a world wide phenomenon: they even know about it among Amazon tribes.
DIGITAL destroyed Modern/Post-Modern/Globalism. The idea that the Devil is in the tech, and that there is a widespread spiritual war going on, not necessarily here on Earth, is everywhere. Everyone talks about Evil, the Devil and Morality now. The idea of the end is coming fast is rampant across faiths.
A big question is: are there religious wars coming?
Many in Russia (ROC) think this is already happening…
They are. You won't hear of it on the MSM. But there are those who touch upon it. Tucker Carlson speaks of it. Elisabeth Nicholson who authors "Absurdistan" on Substack writes about it. People have a general feeling that there is more going on than just what meets the eye. They hear of the compounding and growing evil and are rightfully concerned. Spirit cooking, missing children, growing wars, unexpected deaths, behavior that can only be considered an abomination and bizarre and being fully accepted....all of this portents of a growing evil. People are noticing this. But few say anything and all the while the feeling of something being terribly wrong ......grows.
Well, Mark, I have learned a new word today, eschatological. Reading your article just reinforces my thinking that Israel is on a one-way destructive course to its own oblivion. Whatever moral, ethical., And religious standing it had is eroding very very quickly. They have lost the moral high ground in their argument for the existence of their nation. They are now engaging in the exact same time of atrocities they accuse the Germans of during World War II.
They could have retaliated against Hamas and then negotiated peace and had the hostages returned. Instead, they are doing everything they can to push the the final war so to speak to justify their existence as a nation.
Ron Unz a few weeks ago wrote a really interesting article about the Jewish people. In it he pointed out that Israel is made up exclusively of immigrants from Europe and Eastern Europe after World War II. What’s interesting about those Jewish people is that their forefathers converted to Judaism they were not the direct descendants of the 12 tribes of Israel as none of those people actually ever immigrated to what is known as Europe.
In addition, there is a lot of scholarly out there that the people in Palestine that we call the Palestinians may actually have some type of ancestral claim to being descended from the original 12 tribes of Israel. Wouldn’t that be the irony of irony the European Jews killing the ancestral, Jewish people of Judea.
All of this is going to end very badly and I think that the modern nation of Israel will no longer exist in its present form going forward. Netanyahu and his colleagues that support him become megalomania and their quest to exterminate their enemies at all cost. I believe that means they will use tactical as well as full-blown nuclear weapons if it comes to it.
What’s interesting about the European Jew is their constant reference to being the victim, but they never address the question why others act with hostility toward them . Innocence is not in play here, their role in their victimhood is never questioned nor answered, why?
Those prison rapes and the "justifications" for them remind me of what Lot found in Sodom and Gomorrah. Eschatology meet scatology. You are right, Stephen. There is no way that Israel comes out of this in a healthy state. No wonder so many normal Israelis are getting out while they can.
Immanetizing the eschaton: not just for Marxists/Socialists/Communists anymore. To truly understand this human phenomenon (perhaps a blend of hubris, sin of humanity, and psychopathy) and its inevitable results perhaps one should seek an advanced degree in Scatology.
"Some serious players don’t think as you westerners do; they seek Gog and Magog (the prophecy that “the children of Israel” will be victorious in the battle of Armageddon). That is what you risk."
Some on the evangelical right are absolutely giddy about a ME war wherein Israel will begin to fulfill its prophetic destiny. These purveyors of poor exegesis (e.g. Rev Hagee, Speaker Johnson) peddle their prophetic timelines and incessant warmongering according to the heretical dispensational theology, invented by John Nelson Darby in the 1830s and popularized by the Scofield Reference Bible and Hal Lindsey's "Late Great Planet Earth". They anticipate the rebuilding of the Temple and the reinstitution of animal sacrifices right where the Islamic Dome of the Rock is located. They'd like to nudge Israel along to its Armageddon destiny, even if it means significant death and suffering (two-thirds of ethnic Israel is destroyed) because it's what they think is necessary for the return of Jesus.
Bibi and his ilk hold these evangelicals in great contempt, but they'll take their money and political support, and use it to engage in perpetual war instead of figuring out how to live in peace with their neighbors. I don't see how this ends well for anyone in the ME, or for the US.
You are exactly right. This new Christianity is an abomination that has tied itself to a nation of psychos with superiority complex. And what is really insane is that accorgding to Daniel, this Anti christ will proclaim himself as God in the temple. So who would allow him to do so? Well it will be the isrealis who will take him as thier messiah. Where do i get this from? All i do is read the Bible
My first real-life encounter with this precise sort of evangelical wackadoodle was making the mistake, about 25 years ago, of grabbing the first book I saw (cover looked like some kind of Tom Clancy knockoff) in a hurried connection through Houston before boarding a 5-hour flight. Turned out to be one of the "Left Behind" series of End Times masturbatory fantasies, something I realized about 5 pages in, but, sadly, not before the guy sitting next to me took notice. He proceeded to nearly embrace me in his joy (Rapture, if you will) at his chance finding of a co-"enthusiast." Despite informing him that, yes, I was a Christian and, no, I wasn't interested, he went on for the remainder of the flight to explain all of the stages of fulfillment of the great prophecy. I'd initially dismissed him as a one-off kook, before I realized there was an actual market for these books. Little did I expect that we'd ultimately have a SOTH buying into this crap about making Armageddon great again.
That must have been hell, NFO. Reminds me of that scene in the spoof movie "Airplane" where the hero keeps on telling his story to fellow passengers and they all top themselves.
A big problem with this brand of unbiblical and speculative eschatology is that it spawns organizations like Christians United For Israel. There's no problem with Christians loving ethnic Israelis, of course. But are Christians called to love nations or love people, regardless of their ethnicity or nationality? Do these same Christians love the Palestinians who are suffering greatly at the hands of Israelis? Christian Palestinians wonder where the Church is and why it seems to hate them so. As Christians, we must stand for what is good and right, and that often means opposing the policies of one's own country.
It would be nice to think so, Stacy. However, I think that people like Graham and company would love that scenario: a final flurry of profit before the curtain comes down.
Concerning eschatology there is a lot of chat concerning Daniel 11, a lost verse of Isaiah and Moab (Jordan), Tyre (Lebanon) and Egypt.
Hopefully Israel is not going to play that game otherwise Lebanon is at an apocalyptic crossroad.

Wow! Powerful column, Mark, and strong Comments. Thanks.
Cheeto really had no choice. It was either destroy the evidence, or give it back to Hunter.

Anyone talking about this in a serious way?

The book Esau's Tears does address some of that.

Sounds as though you're seeing the Fnords

Maybe the Washington war addicts will oppose Israel once they realize that it intends to start The Last War.
