I read that yesterday and considered pasting the entire blog in, but events caught up with me. RT's contention that Trump has faced a steady stream of threats is absolutely correct,, and justifies Peskov's statement that no objective outside observer could be surprised at the assassination attempt--the dog whistling for years has been deafening with ears to hear.

So also disturbing is the idea that we're seeking to assassinate the head of state of Russia.

Thanks to commenters for the excellent discussion of the assassination attempt and the LE response. The Jimmy Dore clip, Susan Crabtree thread, TGP, St's link re the sniper. A few observations:

First, the closeup of the sniper confirms what I suspected yesterday--the sniper was local police, not SS. You can see that clearly on his back.

Second, the video shows the snipers scanning roofs in the area--they're not looking down. They have excellent optics/binocs.

Third, the fact that for at least 42 seconds they're actually sighting through their scopes, shouldering their rifles, hands in position to take a shot, tells me that they have a target which they acquired using their optics--now they've identified a threat.

Fourth, the fact that they don't shoot until the perp starts firing confirms the Crabtree contention that SS doesn't fire first--although that may have something to do with the distance, etc. I have a problem with this because snipers DO take out hostage holders. Someone unlawfully pointing a gun at someone else would seem to my mind to be an imminent threat. There are complications here--inability to order him to put it down, etc. I don't fault the police officers here. They were following orders, because ...

Fifth, What's going on? I suspected this yesterday. They would have been in contact with command--which I presume is SS.

Sixth, It's credible that they were told not to shoot. Here's the bigger problem ...

Seventh, even if they don't want to shoot first, the POTUS is in the line of a deadly threat AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN REMOVED FROM THAT POSITION ASAP. Not shooting first doesn't mean take no protective action. So what happened there???

Eighth, going back to the police officers supplementing SS personnel, who were mostly (or maybe all) not part of Trump's regular detail, this goes to the contention that there were not enough SS to adequately cover the venue. This may be a more common situation than we realize, but Trump is a very high profile protectee. So, the big question is: Is TGP correct that his coverage was reduced due to being reassigned to Doc Jill's event?

"Trump, in his fist pump, “Fight, fight, fight!” exemplified raw courage in a moment of crisis. The type of cool, collected courage people want to see in a leader. Not the pathetic figure of hapless Zhou being led hither and yon by his keepers."

Excellent analysis! And thanks for the Tshirt link. I've ordered some for myself and wifey and for some family members.

I have been very critical of Trump, though I voted for him twice. I WAS NOT going to vote for him again, for reasons I will not recount here. But that ended with this clear demonstration of bravery in the face of danger. For all of his faults, what he showed on the stage is just what this country needs. What we do not need is some sniveling, mentally incapacitated man whose handlers provide him with pictures to remind him how to enter and exit a stage.

I have a reason to vote FOR Trump, and this was it. I wonder how many others are like me?

I wonder who the neocons had lined up if Trump went down. Any recent gatherings would be an eye opener.

I wont believe it until Trump is in WH. He only has half a detail of secret service according to NY Post. Will the DEI hire issue proper defense or continue to ignore Trump's campaign pleas? Will there be copy cats? Will Ukraine use real weapons like mortars from 5k out that are all over black market in order to get their man in? Will Bragg jail him? Too many enemies on road to WH.

This was no “failure,” it was a setup. Jimmy Dore is showing some damning clips, including multiple civilians who spotted the shooter several minutes before shots were fired.

SS procedure is do not fire first.

https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1812456384363184547.html

What is interesting a police officer scaled the roof, saw the man with the gun, went down and then the shooter took the shots. After the crowd for a couple of minutes warned of the shooter (warning caught on video).

SS is blaming local police for the debacle, since it was supposedly their zone to control.

And Dr. Jill had another Pa event that pulled resources.

https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2024/07/report-secret-service-resources-were-diverted-jill-bidens/

And the Ss head and Homeland Security Secretary have been refusing requests to beef up security.

Plus, ss director (female and a Biden loyalist) has been focused on 30% female ss. The video of female agents after the assassination is sad.

Don’t get me wrong. I do think this was at least allowed to happen. I was just questioning the post in which the agent in the picture supposedly admits he was told to stand down. A) it looks like it comes from an Anon message board. B) its all a little too on the nose to be real. The guy may have been told to stand down, but he would not admit as much in the way being reported.

I’d like to share the joy, but our opponents are both ruthless and unprincipled coupled with an insatiable lust for power and that makes them dangerous to the last second. Undoubtedly this has thrown things into chaos for the moment, but once the initial shock has worn off, the MSM will circle the wagons once again and the deep state will attempt to maintain their hold on power at any cost.

True enough, this event may ultimately prove to be an insurmountable obstacle for them to overcome, but until I see DJT being sworn in on the Capitol steps, I remain uneasy.

In today’s print edition of the LA Times, the assassination was described as a “commotion”.

Washington post edited out the American flag in the background of the iconic photo for their front page.

And Obama and Biden both said, we don’t know what happened.

More attempts by the Left to control the narrative.

Unfortunately Twitter is available making the videos easily available that shows what really happened.

Mainstream media lost even more credibility.

I wonder what fb and Google are doing for censorship of the Trump Assassination.

You said the word: it’s pure “censorship,” ie propaganda. Martyanov ( link above) refers to the fact that Goebbels, Hitler’s head honcho for propaganda, took his own life, his wife’s and six children after the war…the man had a conscience and knew that he was the cause of millions of deaths…post-Constitution, post accountability (a “commotion”!).

I am so glad we are no longer dependent on three (or four) TV networks and half a dozen newspapers and two wire services for our news. Alas, they don't seem to have realized it yet. Sorry to tell you, folks, lots of us have brains and are no longer swallowing what you give us. Elon Musk knows this too and he is intentionally making moves in accordance with what he sees as the future. Smart (and more importantly principled) guy. Others with power are lining up, too. But it takes leaders and those with courage (such as President Trump) to set the tone and the direction and the momentum.

I definitely want that T-shirt. I had wanted to be a millionaire but someone beat me to it with that T-shirt idea. :) That said jokingly, I would prefer that the profits go to elect Trump. I hope he sues over the image of his name and likeness. As for the Democrats, wasn't there an episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation where the members of the Borg got confused and malfunctioned because they stopped receiving coherent messages from their controller? I remember enjoying that episode.
