I wonder if 15 minute cities are really aimed at the austerity the West expects when the proverbial hits the fan. No cheap oil and no Chinese goods.

Hey, I have an idea, since we made ourselves look so incredibly stupid, inept and incompetent with our “Let’s trash the Russian economy and get rid of Putin by starting a proxy war in Ukraine” gambit, why don’t we launch an ill-advised and poorly thought out conflict with the folks who make most of our antibiotics and supply crucial components for the defense industry? Oh, and we can make a bunch of empty threats to show them how tough and committed we are to having it our way.

I don’t think there’s a single, complete and fully functional brain cell amongst the entire neocon group!

On an unrelated, but not very, note, I am sick and tired of people talking about Joe Biden doing this, or proposing that, or considering a new policy initiative!! Joe Biden isn’t doing, proposing or considering anything! The man is a completely and totally incapable of functioning as President of the United States! Hell, the guy doesn’t even know what century it is and can’t deliver simple remarks without reading directly from notecards. If you watch his public appearances for more 10 minutes, it’s painfully obvious that there’s absolutely nothing to see except a doddering old man who humiliates himself and the country every time he opens his mouth to speak in public. I’m so disgusted and infuriated with this whole mess and frankly find myself agreeing with those who suggest that there is no way in hell we can vote ourselves out of this catastrophe.

"U.S. goods and services trade with China totaled an estimated $758.4 billion in 2022. Exports were $195.5 billion; imports were $562.9 billion. The U.S. goods and services trade deficit with China was $367.4 billion in 2022." (https://ustr.gov/countries-regions/china-mongolia-taiwan/peoples-republic-china)

"In 2023, China was the third largest partner for EU exports of goods (8.8 %) and the largest partner for EU imports of goods (20.5 %)." (https://ec.europa.eu/eurostat/statistics-explained/index.php?title=China-EU_-_international_trade_in_goods_statistics)

"According to data published by the United Nations Statistics Division, China accounted for 28.7 percent of global manufacturing output in 2019. That puts the country more than 10 percentage points ahead of the United States, which used to have the world’s largest manufacturing sector until China overtook it in 2010." (https://www.statista.com/chart/20858/top-10-countries-by-share-of-global-manufacturing-output/)

So this is the country "we" are aiming to go to war with? And we want the European countries to back us up? Sanity would not admit to this possibility if we had politicians in the West who actually cared about the well-being of their countries. "Cutting off your nose to spite your face" doesn't even begin to cover this. What scares me is the idea that when it comes to politicians it seems you can't fix stupid.

U.S. has been threatening sanctions against any Chinese company doing business with Russia, such as banks. And has long standing sanctions against North Korea.

I’m surprised it’s taken this long for Chinese counter sanctions.

Oh, and China is now buying corn from Brazil vs U.S.

And the West seized Russian state and private citizen assets.

And Russia just seized 650,000 acres of Western owned Russian farmland.

Well, since Janet went over and mucked things up, I reckon now Briben will just have to send John Kerry to straighten out the Chinese...
