Sons best friend is a LTC in the military recently sent to Europe. Knowing what he does, I know he is tasked with supporting this nonsense, well at least until a little while ago. Apparently he had the audacity to question the sanity of a general during a briefing. His boss, who loves him quickly got him back to the states before any retaliation could be taken. Personally I glad he’s out of that shit show and back with his family in the relative safety of DC.

1) The propaganda being promoted by the Western media surrounding the Prigozhin affair makes me want to puke.

2) Why should American lives be sacrificed for "Democracy" in a country where the current President has banned opposing political parties and closed Russian Orthodox affiliated churches, and just suspended the next Presidential elections?

3) "How many dead Americans will it take to win this war, how many will you tolerate?" I would rather see the fundamental questions asked: "Is this war between the U.S. and Russia?" "Why is the U.S. fighting this war?" "What are the goals of this war?", "How much will it cost us?" and "When will we know the war is over?"

To your points:

1. The urge to barf is growing with each idiotic pronouncement in this outrageous war for greed and revenge by our neocons and neoliberals.

2. Good question, why should we. Since this is often termed a proxy war with the Ukes fighting for what our Oligarchs want and the pattern of denying rights there is likely a precursor to their intentions on our shores.

3. Another good question and I’d as many as possible for ‘the children and climate change’. and population reduction to appease the Malthusian gods. It’s not costing them it’s costing us and the goals are as Gavin Newsom said, “To build the world we want.”

Of all the presidential candidates, 1) Trump has said he would end the war immediately; and 2) RFK Jr. is the only one capable of asking, and answering, your above questions. Biden can only be the war president, and the way things are going, I think, hope and pray Americans turn against this demented profligacy and insanity.

Long the optimist in believing that, with the escalating crazy apparent from each successive, failed escalation, a "WTF are we doing?" moment was just around the corner, I am now more than ever convinced that we are dealing with an anti-Russia-fundamentalist cabal for whom rationality will NEVER penetrate. Not your parents' or your grandparents' Masters of War, so to speak. God help us all.

I believe the answer to "WTF are we doing" is this: there are a handful of insane people who deluded themselves to believe they can take - by force - by any evil they can dream up - the vast fortunes of Russias natural resources.

All* of this is grounded in pure unadulterated greed, and likely the only way this ends now is with the deaths of 10s of millions.

My read as well. Ukraine’s resources in it’s east seemed to be the first object.

Just finished listening to Tom Luongo’s podcast with Richard Poe, who spoke quite a bit about the Brits and their long standing role as schemers in world affairs. Highly recommended.

I am still at a loss how Prigohzin will not be held accountable for the shoot down of Russian AF aircraft??? Yes Putin inquiry into his business empire may ruin him but it just seems odd that criminal charges and treason were dropped

I don’t know whether you caught Ritter’s forceful commentary on Prigo’s coup - I just copied below the part in which he talks about the oligarch’s greed (loss of contract, end of lucrative relationship w Ru MoD, etc) but the entire podcast is very interesting.

The timing? Maybe Putin has other priorities now. Prigohzine seems to be safely tucked away at the moment.

That's my take too. I'm sure he's moving on to the next moves.

He will be held accountable. Time and place in the future. No need to sensitize his troops at the moment.

You ask how many body bags of dead Americans will the public tolerate?

Quite likely they will get kept in the dark for some time. C5s with flag draped coffins aren't going to he happening.

Yep. Only the families will know. Will someone come forward? BTW C5’s retired in 2017. C17’s now.

I'm listening to Mercouris right now. He believes the Poles and Lithuanians can't buck public opinion against further involvement and are in Kiev on a mission to sugarcoat NATO's refusal to make further meaningful commitments. No NATO, no EU, etc.

May it be so.

The question that arises is: How many Western Euros are willing to die for Poland? Come to think of it, that's a tough question for Americans, too.
