How does this not constitute an act of war?

Lunatics are running this country, and I’m not talking about Joe Biden! This is utterly insane.

Yes. An explicit act of war against Russia, but an implicit act of war against Germany and rhe rest of Europe. This didn’t just sabotage Russia’s ability to make money from the sale of natural gas. It sabotaged any remaining hopes that Europeans aren’t going to freeze and/or go hungry this winter.

The new Italian Prime Minister, Georgia Meloni, telling the world what she really thinks of French President Macron.

Borne is truly odious - for her to invoke “shared values” and human rights after her government under Macron inflicted the most cynical, tyranical covid policies on the citizenry…vive l’italie!!

In an absolutely operatic rant (subtitled, but nothing beats the Italian for fury!) , Miloni eviscerates Macronian hypocrisy and cynicism vis à vis Africa. It’s at citizenfreepress from Twitter. Her beauty is only surpassed by her eloquence, as she ousts the French off the moral high-ground!!! The masks are off, but the gloves are on…

I’m no expert on the subject, but I suspect it’s quite complicated and relates to colonial times as well as African independence and economic development. Deutsche Welle has an article on the 17 African countries whose currencies are printed in the UK and Germany. The 14 West and Central African former French colonies which use the CFA, pegged to the Euro, most likely print their bills in France. The Italians who were in Ethiopia and, I think Libya too, must also have their issues. It seems this is a subject noone talks about (the Africans included), but Meloni is just trying to make the point that she is not taking moral lessons from the French head of state…

Jeff Childers at Coffee & Covid this morning: "We don’t know a lot yet, but one thing is certain. Russia will retaliate. It practically HAS TO, to discourage further attacks. Russia can do the same analysis that we can, much better in fact. ...

Whoever did it, the attacks were a gigantic, poorly-considered, reckless escalation. The U.S. and other countries (like Poland, see above) have their own vulnerable underwater assets. One in particular — the transatlantic Internet cable — seems like a very attractive target if Russia ever decides the U.S. was involved somehow. "

A powerful retaliation would be to prove USA involvement in it. Edward Snowden has been presented a Russian nationality option.

Per Childers: Poland’s president, Andrzej Duda, exhorted last month that “we cannot return to normal business with Russia… A change in policy in the West is not just a complete termination of Nord Stream 2, but also the liquidation, complete dismantling of this stream.”

Complete dismantling. Liquidation of the stream. Sounds about right. The pipes are full of water now, and last I checked, water was a liquid.

2 months before NATO exercises off Bornholm Island (in which precision mapping of Nordstream pipeline appears to have been carried out under cover of "training"), Denmark agreed to stationing US military on Bornholm. Plot already underway as US sabotaged peace talks in Istanbul?

Three Wars being fought:

1. Physical on the ground in Ukraine

2. Economic

3. Hearts and Minds / credibility / respect / trust of the US / Russia.

The US just took a major hit on #3. This will increase anti Americanism, Ugly American redux. And this is building on top of the US sponsored Color Revolutions.

The natural question in a democratic Republic would be when will the arrogant, hubristic, war mongering, immature imbeciles in charge be voted out? With a mid term election approaching it would seem that the answer is "very soon," but given the complicity or at least silence of the eGOP on so many of todays problems, and their inability to take seriously the many irregularities of the 2020 election, as well as the as well as the seeming invulnerability of the Deep State/administartive state/Interagency to elected officials, I do not see any hope for an electoral solution to the current insanity.

At the very least, when things are going badly you could vote against incumbents, heeding the sagely counsel of Mark Twain more than a hundred years ago when he said, "Politicians, like diapers, should be changed often . . . and for the same reason."

I consider that an irresponsible position--no matter the provocation and no matter how understandable the sentiment. The alternative is to vote AGAINST someone.

"The alternative is to vote AGAINST someone."

Exactly!

The more disgusted one is with the way things are being run, the more logical, and morally imperative, it is to use your vote to try to remove incumbents from power. Sure it would be great to have a bunch of angels to vote FOR, but failing that, go vote against the devil, wherever and whenever you can.

It is always a good thing to remove corrupt politicians from power, even when their replacements seem little better. The alternative is to just give up and let the bastards get their police state without even having to fight for it.

My favorite part was when they started to spread the “muh Russia” conspiracy theory but then Anne Applebaum’s husband tweeted that NATO did it. The Deep State and the Corporate Press can’t even get their stories straight. We are ruled by exceptionally dumb people.

I had not seen that until some people stated tweeting it after my comment. You’d figure they’d go ahead and have YouTube memory hole those remarks. But then again they are exceptionally dumb psychopaths.

Or maybe didn’t remember what they’d said, or maybe it’s what Credenda said in the reply above—hubris not dumb. Though the smart man you figure would know that hubris calls forth nemesis.
