The Kellogg-Rubio-Walz story is to distract and occupy the neocons and their extremely powerful backers, the real story is Witkoff, Vance and Gabbard. Trump can’t just turn off the switch - the President, even Trump, has less real power than you might think. I think the deal has already been made with Russia and it includes Odessa by force, Trump merely letting the kiddies play (and think he is on board) while the Russians finish their SMO. And there is no chance of war with Iran. We will end up with a permanent, enforceable (by the Russians) non nuclear proliferation deal with Iran, unlike the weak Obama era deal.

But if "the President, even Trump, has **less real power** than you might think," how is it that he can pull all this off against the will of "the neocons and their **extremely powerful** backers"? I get that this is probably the reason Trump is in such a rush--yesterday he was again saying that "a week is too long" for coming to a deal. He's concerned that his window for relative freedom to deal--before those **extremely powerful** backers that he sold his campaign to shut him down--is likely going to close pretty soon.

The problem I fear--because I'd like to see the results you forecast--is that those "extremely powerful" backers could cause problems for Trump in the Senate, especially if anything requires confirmation. The Russians have always indicated a strong preference for something in writing and both they and the Iranians must be hinky of less binding deals--they know Trump is certainly capable of walking away from "agreements" and so would any other president.

The tariff fiasco--so far, and I do support what Trump is trying to do--has emboldened the anti-Trumpers, and the "extremely powerful" backers will not be slow to attempt to throw a wrench in each and every part of Trump's agenda to simply slow everything down.

This is a great write up, Mark. I am aligned with your comments and of those you highlighted in this article. Trump is pandering to a base that amongst the Zionists, Christian or Jewish who are fully behind his efforts and cannot see the forest for the trees because it suits their agenda. His administration is once again filled with zealots and self-interested politicians looking out not for our interests but their own and Israels, but I repeat myself.

On a separate note: I hope your wife is recovering nicely from her cataract surgery. I suspect that is in the cards for me soon as well. My wife came home Saturday after three days two nights in the hospital. She was having a procedure with elements like an endoscopy and they perforated her stomach. Poor thing on liquid diet on lots of meds, but gets stronger daily..

Yikes, we are on our knees for your wife! Prayers coming your way. Good luck and speedy recovery. If indeed cataract surgery is in your future, have no fear. I

went to the doctor today and sight in the eye is 20/20 and eye pressure perfect.

Hope your wife is back on her feet and healthy asap.

I've worn glasses since I was nine. I'm told that when my cataracts are ready for surgery, I'll still need glasses, but, I won't require as strong corrective lenses for my glasses.

My wife's vision in her eye is much better since surgery, although she needs a slight correction in her lens.

You are so sweet and my wife thanks you for your prayers and kind words. I am glad to hear your surgery went well. 20-20, that's amazing, but I have heard that vision after cataract surgery can be restored to something like 20-20. Nice.

My wife was given the choice of single vision lenses or progressive lenses that have a reading portion. I don't recall the insurance coverage (the prog lenses are quite a bit more expensive) but she chose the regular lenses, which is the common choice. She was told that she'd then probably need reading glasses, which she expected, but now she's not wearing any glasses at all, and she spends the greater part of the day reading.

As she is on a liquid diet, you can find high quality bone broth - chicken or beef - in the health food stores. There are various brands. The broth is nutritious and healing to the whole digestive system (“healthy fats”!). Little by little she’ll be able to take in veggie soups, but without too much ch fiber! I wish her a speedy recovery!

ML, thanks for the kind words and recommendations. Fortunately, her doctors made the same nutritional recommendations. She been doing this for well over a year. I'd brag about my improving culinary skills, but heating up broth is no challenge. however, I do put some flavor like lemon which she likes. She's had six of these procedures so far, the last one she had a harder time in recovery and, of course, this time the perforation and hospitalization. Most of the others were one day in-out.

Prayers for your wife's speediest recovery! Six procedures and "doing this for well over a year," wow, she is a force.

A few years back, I had an 11-day stint on clear liquids (basically, a botched outpatient colonoscopy/polyps removal, hospitalization, surgery, ICU, another surgery, and repeated confirmatory scopies) that turned me into the orneriest big baby on the planet. Knowing that, around Day 9, I was about to engage in self-help (gown, wheeled IV and more) for some solids at the cafeteria based on that one doc who said I should probably be good, my wife swiped my wallet before leaving for the night. Anticipating this, I had swiped the cash out before she did that. Noticing the light wallet, she went around, as she left, to confirm that all the food service locations were 100% cashless. Always good to have a true partner through things like this. ;-)

NFO, great story and thanks for sharing. Sounds very similar to what my wife experienced, but only longer. she was having polyps removed from her esophagus and the area of attention which makes the procedure more difficult was at the junction with the stomach. I wonder if Trump, even were he allowed, would be interested in regularing The Duran, The Grayzone, Judging Freedom, Moon of Alabama, etc. - the gaggle of websites that I go to for a alternate reality to that fed to us by the US MSM (apparently along with the author and readers of this blog). In the same vein, Danial Davis was blocked from participating in the government.

"The Faithful", believers in Exceptionalism (is Maga part of that?), seem to savor only ingesting information that's in line with what they've been told about themselves. The US Military, the US Economy, US Rule of Law, US Corporations, US Ingenuity,,etc., are all the greatest that the world has ever seen! This seems especially true for older boomers.

From what I hear the leaders of Europe saying, their reality must be bent even worse than that portrayed by our US MSM.

Getting back to my first sentence, other views of the world, ones which seem quite a lot more evidence based, are not really that hard to find. But accessed they generally are not. Whether driven subconciously or deliberately, this ossification of world view, a history written by one-time victors, is what is driving us over the edge.

We (I include myself) are the generation blamed for a lot of our ills. I am first generation son of an immigrant, believe in the American Creed and held those same beliefs of exceptionalism. Pride of nation not so much the Protestant shining on a hill garbage that was Calvinist self serving nonsense and bigotry. Since 9/11 my philosophy and ideology began evolving. something about 9/11 didn't smell right. I also bought into all the Israel hype of our ally and friend but that changed too. I stopped consuming any of the MSM news and sought places where I might her different sides to the story, different opinions of who we are as a nation and why after 30+ years of rehabilitation Russia continues to be our hated rival while we have given China the means to destroy us and now we want war. Most of this insanity is driven by Zionists and the greed that is inherent in politicians and the psychotic elites. Yes our ego on the world stage is coming home to roost.

Russia will take Odessa. Everything else is noise, with the exception of a French insane idea that a multi national force will preemptively seize Odessa when the Ukrainian front lines collapse.

And Estonia, with uk support, seems to be trying to poke Russia by seizing a shadow fleet ship.

A war with Iran would destroy Trumps economic agenda, and I’m sure Trump recognizes that. So lots of bluster and whatever is being done in Yemen (I don’t get the why), all with the goal of negotiations.

If my meaning in history serves me Odessa was the home of a large, prosperous (read extremely wealth) Jewish community of traders and business owners. I suspect this cross roads of cultures (Greek influences, Turks, etc) was a mecca for the Jews of the Russian Pale and a center for Zionism. I can see why this would be an important city for the Zionists and neocons. I agree war with Iran is stupid and self-defeating for us all.

My take on this is this, Trump either gets a handle on Ukraine in the Middle East or it’s going to overwhelm him. I think his window is closing on this., I would say he has another 3 to 4 months to try to accomplish something in the foreign policy realm dealing with Ukraine and Israel or it’s over for him.

He could’ve actually done something. He could’ve cut off all aid immunizations to both Ukraine and Israel. Of course, his backers would’ve been very upset if he had done that, but at least it would’ve stopped killing.

He needs to quit threatening Russia, Iran, and China as it will do no good.

We do not have the resources to put troops on the ground in the Middle East in a war with Iran we’re stretched too thin as it is I’d be surprised if we could put together 100,000 troops to put out there and then where would you stage them? I’ve said over and over bombing will never solve the problem and win the war.

I think the possibility of getting over involved overseas in these wars is going to absolutely impact Trump and any type of domestic policy he wants to do .

The tariffs will never accomplish what he really wants, which is to force manufacturing jobs back to this country. Those jobs are gone and I do not see the possibility of large numbers of manufacturing jobs coming back here.

The cost advantage that China has had all of these years is fast running out and I have read by 2030 that there will be no more labor cost advantage between China and United States so that cost advantage may no longer exist.

United States military technology has stagnated and has been that way for quite a while while Russia and Iran and even China have moved forward with hypersonic missile technology and Russia now has kinetic bomb capability .

Given that Israel tried to bomb Iran a couple of months ago and was unsuccessful doing so because of Iran, early warning, air system defense, I’m not sure how we’re going to penetrate that to knock out any nuclear research as well as their nuclear power plant when I believe they’re pretty well protected and we’re not even sure where their nuclear research laboratories are.

Once we attack Iran, if that happens , they’re gonna launch they are going to end up, shutting down the Arabian peninsula, they will strike at Diego Garcia, and wipe out our B2 bomber force. Overnight will go to four or $500 a barrel. The world economy will act in the most negative way possible and if you thought a 4500 point drop in the market with something wait till it’s a 10,000 point drop and we’re in a major recession and it cost $25 a gallon to fill up.

My personal opinion on Trump at this point is that in almost 3 months he has wasted everything he gained in the election and he is slowly but surely imploding. He gets a handle on these wars and shuts them down or they’re gonna do him in.

Once 2026 comes, he’s a lame duck president and is ability to get anything accomplished after that I think will be severely curtailed. Then what?

He has to find a way to gain some type of trust and credibility once again with the Russians and the Iranians, that means keep it as mouse shut and quit making statements on truth social that undermine everything he wants to do. He is his own worst enemy.

Speaking of Palm Sunday attacks:

https://news.antiwar.com/2025/04/13/israel-bombs-christian-run-hospital-in-gaza-city-on-palm-sunday/

This is the legacy and direct result of the Trump administration's continued military and economic support for Israel. As in Ukraine, the war could be stopped at any time if peace was the real goal. I guess the Trump admin has sole say in such decisions now that U.S. public dissent over Israeli actions has been criminalized. Do any of Trump's Zionist triumvirate of appointees (Rubio, Waltz, Hegseth) care in the least about these violations of international law and of God's laws? What is the basis of their authority if not the public and if not the morality established by God? Do the "Evangelical Christian" supporters of Israel understand the implications of their support of Israel?

Yemen Monitor/Special:

In a move aimed at strengthening trade and economic cooperation between Yemen and China, the latter has announced the exemption of Yemeni products from customs duties in the Chinese market.

This came during a special interview of the Chinese Ambassador to Yemen, Shao Zheng, with the government-run “Al-Thawra” newspaper.

The Chinese Ambassador explained that this measure will allow Yemeni products to enter the Chinese market without any restrictions, which will significantly support the Yemeni fish and agricultural export sectors.

Ambassador Shao Zheng pointed out that this initiative comes within the framework of China’s commitment to providing support and assistance to Yemeni traders and facilitating the access of their products to Chinese markets.

He also expressed his country’s readiness to resume more than 100 Chinese projects in Yemen after the end of the conflict period, reflecting China’s continued commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and supporting development in Yemen.
