On the lighter side. Thanks for the nun video. Memory Lane. They were tough broads. 64 teenage girls in my 8th grade class. Try controlling that by yourself! Thumbs up to a Church heck bent on educating women. Sacred Heart School, Cardinal O’Hara HS, VU, St Joseph U and Loyola Baltimore! Thanks.

I wonder how much of the war mongering actually has to do with propping up the US dollar by creating demand for US currency globally through arms and munitions supply?

The EU and Singapore recently tested hypothetical international CBDC trade denominated in Euros.

https://cryptonews.net/news/finance/27032336/

This would undermine US hegemony more than anything the BRICs could dream of, it would see the largest economies completely bypassing the Dollar.

Never a fan of Glitch, after reading Schweitzers book and how his in-laws enriched themselves with China money, I developed a serious dislike, but tolerated him as he did a decent jobs of moving conservative judges through confirmation. In the last few years I have lost all patience with this uniparty hack.

And McConnell believes Russia has no ability to retaliate?

Or is McConnell’s Ukraine support “all about the Benjamins”.

Western Ukraine support honestly still mystifies me. It seems to be a combination of Ukrainian dirty money, Russian Hatred, Hubris, and ideology.

I’m disappointed in this latest Russia is about to lose page by strategy page. Seems more Western Propaganda.

When I was in college touring Rockwell (dates me), I mentioned something about how I could not understand why a certain plane was treated as it was. Probably the A-10, or F-20.

He commented a certain plane was selected based on politics, his plane from convair was not, even though the other plane was much better.

Defense manufacturers to win contracts spread production among as many congressional districts as possible, including sub contractors.

The U.S. defense appropriation process so deeply dysfunctional. Lts, uss Gerald R. Ford air craft carrier class, f-35, etc. and the army is still using cold west era designed equipment. And the U.S. still has not deployed hypersonic missiles. And the Patriot missile seems over hyped on capabilities. There is a golden parachute from the us armed forces to the defense industry for those in procurement and at top levels.

McConnell here is plainly saying we're gonna build up the military-industrial complex :/

As someone who worked in sales to the MIC I have seen the pathetic state of this industry. So much graft, so much wasted money, and so much hubris. People wonder how they could spend a $1000 for hammer or a toilet seat. It's all a function of the public sector process. It does not work like the private. If you want to rise in the public sphere your measure of value is how well you grow your department whether it be by the size of your department's budget or personnel or a combination of both and how much you suck up to TPTB. If you spend your entire budget you are a god and will be rewarded with more money, more prestige and a larger department. The Federal cycle is 11/01/xxxx-10/31/xxxx and if you have any money left and want a promotion you spend it as fast as you can no matter what the cost, the goal is $0 at 10/31. I suspect yo know that Ray given the size of the sub-contractor base of Calif, especially SoCal. I spent plenty of time with all the sub-caks around LAX. The Patriot Missile program is a relic of the 60's with hardware still used that was designed in the 60's. It's a real cash cow for Raytheon.

I'm the child of a man who got pinned between "will this work" and "will this sell" and I respect my dad so much for fighting for "will this work". Long ago, far away.

The problem is McConnell believes what he is saying. He does think Russias army is being degraded and destroyed, and his remark about the industrial base, well, there is certainly a lot of money going in that direction so strictly speaking he isnt wrong

Bit of short term thinking, and he's obviously wrong about Russia.

Yes, we have become a mafia nation. I come from the land of Lincoln, and our gangster government model has been replicated on the national level to deal with both domestic and foreign threats to “their democracy.”

More from the hostage's statement:

When we arrived in Gaza, they first told us that they believed in the Quran and would not harm us, they said that they would treat us the way they treat their neighbors, we were under intensive care.

A paramedic and a doctor came and made sure that we always have the medicines we take, they were very interested in the health aspect and we also had a doctor attached to us, he came every two or three days to see what was happening to us. They were responsible and they would definitely bring the medicines and if the medicines were not the same, they would give similar medicines.

They were very kind and made sure that we ate well. We also ate their food. They treated us well. They paid attention. They had women with us who knew what feminine hygiene meant and made sure we had everything.

Sounds like when I was held hostage at the hospital. They gave me food, were nice to me, the doctors and nurses came around, but I could not leave until they said so.

At the end of the article:

"Hamas says 22 captives have been killed in Israel's bombardment of Gaza, which has killed at least 5,000 Palestinians, the vast majority of whom are civilians.

"In an interview with Sky News broadcast on Tuesday, senior Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal said the group would release all of its hostages in exchange for an end to the bombardment of Gaza."

I found that significant. Will Bibi take them up on it? Will the US allow it? We've swatted down two UN resolutions along these lines already.

I’m sure Hamas is cherry picking who’s released:

Also from her interview:

Lifshitz also condemned the Israeli army's lack of preparedness for the attack on 7 October, saying that "two billion" shekels had been spent on security systems that did not work.

Family members had earlier told media outlets that the grandmother had previously worked to get medical aid to Palestinians in Gaza. Oded Lifshitz, Yocheved's husband, is still missing and presumed to be held

Everybody agrees that the attack was planned long in advance. Captured Hamas terrorists have said so. And of course they're taking care of their hostages, that's what hostages are for. Dead ones are worthless.

I don't see what bearing any of that has to on either the "savagery" of the attacks or the "intelligence failure".

But of course it's a propaganda war. Like all modern warfare. Israeli gov't latest salvo, to emotionally influence journalists but not (yet?) available for critical analysis: https://www.theepochtimes.com/world/israel-counters-holocaust-denial-like-phenomenon-by-releasing-unedited-footage-of-hamas-attack-5515674

A [Israeli] girl named Yasmine claims that Israeli police blew up houses and they barely escaped.

"When the police came, they started shooting everywhere and I went outside with a gunman who talked to me. Four people were dead outside, I think the police killed them. Then they arrested the gunman and opened heavy fire on the hostages and the gunmen inside, killing them all."

It is likely that many Jewish youth on the festival grounds were also killed by Israeli soldiers.

Do you have a reference for that last claim? My understanding is that there was no Israeli military or police response at all for several hours, until the operation was nearly complete.
