Sometimes it seems that things never change:

Benjamin Netanyahu in the 1980's: '[The USA is not a unified block.] We have the US Senate, the Congress and a record strong Jewish lobby on our side. We have a huge influence over them, America won't force us into anything'.

7 Oct was a false [flag] - pretext to do what's being done now. Hamas is funded by Qatar. Qatar has a defence pact with Britain. All roads lead to London. It is the heart of darkness.

More evidence of foreknowledge. The comparisons with 9/11 are quite appropriate
Nevertheless, there are continuing signs that Americans are waking up to the forces behind the decline of their country. Those signs aren’t straightforward, but rather are, in a sense, cultural in character—demonstrating a pushback against the Ruling Class.
For example, Fox has run a major article that suggests that consumers have seen through key aspects of the climate agenda. I’ve noted this in the past, but Fox has charts and numbers to back this up:
Ford, GM, Mercedes come clean on EV demand weakness
Automakers respond to concerns as consumers balk at EV push
The key here is that consumers are balking—in spite of the vast propaganda push to coerce ordinary people into crazy behavior. That suggests not only an awareness of self interest but also distrust of the Ruling Class agenda. How conscious all this is remains to be seen, of course, but it’s a good sign rather than a bad one.
Mercedes-Benz financial chief Harald Wilhelm noted during a call with analysts that some traditional players are selling EVs below the pricing level of internal combustion engine vehicles despite their higher production costs, saying, "I can hardly imagine the current status quo is fully sustainable for everybody.
Government officials are also trying to figure out why so few Americans—now estimated at about 3%—have taken the latest mRNA gene therapy injections. Behind the upbeat chatter, it all looks like rationalization for what looks to me more like public resistance in the face of past experience and increasing awareness of the risks. It also reflects on public lack of trust in the Ruling Class—and even in the Medical Establishment.
The falling support for Ukraine—which led to the fall of Speaker Kev—appears to be another sign that a broad swath of Americans simply don’t buy into the view that Ukraine matters to the US. But all the polling shows that Americans do believe that control of our borders do matter. The changes in polling support for a blank check for Israel is another sign of a widening split between the Ruling Class and ordinary Americans—how Americans see the world and their country’s role in it.
Finally—and perhaps above all—the fact that support for Trump remains as strong as it is, despite the Lawfare onslaught of the Ruling Class, suggests very strongly that Americans simply do not trust the Ruling Class and its agenda. Americans of the Subject Class clearly regard the lawfare pursuit of Trump as a politicization of the legal system, and seem prepared to vote for Trump regardless of the outcome of these cases. Ominously, and this is a Tucker theme, they no longer trust our governing and societal institutions. All this fits in with the decline in trust for government education, as well.
For the time being the Ruling Class carries on as if no much has changed, as if there is no need to consult with the Subject Class of ordinary Americans. They start wars here, there, and everywhere—Constitution be damned! One wonders what could result from some major setback or upset—military, economic, whatever. The state of the Union does seem, as Tucker warns, increasingly fragile.
About our new Speaker of the House...
Mark, you write: "The falling support for Ukraine—which led to the fall of Speaker Kev—appears to be another sign that a broad swath of Americans simply don’t buy into the view that Ukraine matters to the US."
But according to Speaker Johnson (on Fox News/zerohedge this morning):
On Ukraine, Johnson stated that the support for Ukraine must continue. "Now we can’t allow Vladimir Putin to prevail in Ukraine because I don’t believe it would stop there...Hamas and Hezbollah are proxies of Iran, and they’re tied in now with Russia and China. I mean, it is a new axis of evil. That’s how we see it..."
I can't remember even Speaker Kev being so shamelessly hegemonic...so utterly direct in his support for our global war against every country which disagrees with us. There is not even any nuance in this guy. "That's how 'we' see it." They are all 'evil'.
I guess this is how Mr. Johnson got himself elected. Very depressing.
