"Davos hates the freedom that oil and gas represent." If anyone remains skeptical of this, here is Alex Krainer discussing the UK's Climate Change Act of 2008, which in conjunction with the "Absolute Zero" academic paper has among other things led to promises to phase out air travel in and from the UK (in addition to phasing out everything else that contributes to carbon emissions). Yes, this craziness is in progress and officially sanctioned:

At least when your private school goes insane you can take your tuition money elsewhere.

The government schools funded by property taxes are specifically insulated against that kind of natural market-based accountability, so instead they get school board "public comment" drama.

I tried a path of "radical sovereign individuality" with my wife today. It worked! For once, I had the final word: "Yes, dear, right away!"

I'm not a Christian but "demonic" is definitely the relevant adjective for this behaviour. It is beyond logic. I worked as a private tutor in an international school here in Switzerland. They hired a transvestite to be their - adjust pacemaker now - "wellness counselor". One of my students asked me what I thought of him, and I told him that I didn't think a man dressed as a woman (and a very bizarre woman at that) should be working with primary aged children in any capacity. Of course, this got back to the head teacher, and he wrote me a very Karen-like ultimatum to go with the narrative or get out. I got out and told him where he could stuff his transgender garbage. I heard later that many of the parents are not happy about this pervert being there either - but of course, they are not prepared to say anything. After all, that might stop their little darlings getting their grad certificates and not being able to go to a top university.

"The author is sadly infected with the confusion inherent in libertarian ideology. I mean, how does “radical sovereign individuality” have a grounding in “family, community and tribes.”

Each family has a leader and that leader has the “radical sovereign individuality” necessary to choose his tribe/leader and so on and so forth. Presuming, of course, that the author is referring to adults who have, and diligently exercise, free will. This concept is based upon the requirements inherent in natural law.

Can anyone actually translate any of that? Does really mean anything?

These adjectives only signify political / ideological affiliation.

"Radical" means edgy-leftish. "Sovereign" means edgy-rightish.

Of course this guy has to throw in "natural law" which is another right-ish / new-age shibboleth. He's trying to cover all his bases.

This "radical" crap ("radical acceptance," "radical openness to change," "radical love," etc.) started popping up at my church (and others I tried) somewhere around 2012-13 in actual Scripture-based homilies, as if a memo had gone around. Don't get it.

It happened with reform rabbi’s about the same time. The word went from the National organization and they started preaching the same garbage. Over the years many of us got disgusted and left. The reform branch of Judaism is another arm of the radical democrats machine

Hmmm. Interesting to see Reform Judaism, the Episcopalians and nearly all of the Catholic parishes near me get on the same script at the same time, that of the very successor ideology that has faith and religious tradition in its crosshairs.

I suspect the author of this article still lives with his mum. LIbertarianism is just a right wing version of anarchism. It attracts deluded narcissists. I recall in the UK, when they first introduced smoking bans on public transport. Chris Tame and the other leading libertarians hired a bus and drove around London smoking themselves to death on it in protest. For them, their right to smoke on buses and on the metro was more important than the majority non-smokers' health, or that of the personnel who had to work there 10 hours a day. That just about summed it up for me.

It is ideological jargon.

I haven't touched the configuration since I set the substack up. Substack periodically makes changes, over which I have no control. Some for the good, some for the irritating.
