As many of us have been saying for quite some time, this (American politics) is all about power and money. Of course, the next big inflection point is the November 2022 midterm elections. Many of us have been wondering what the Dems can possibly run on to win?
After all, their President is an idiot, an overwhelming majority of parents reject their 'gender' based politics, their (illegal) immigration policies are turning Hispanics by the thousands into Republicans, their FBI has been clearly shown to be an organ of their political party, their energy 'policies' have resulted in massive increases in the prices of fuel hitting all Americans who aren't overpaid government officials or otherwise members of the Ruling Class right in their empty pocketbooks, their reckless government spending has resulted in a non-transitory inflation which is already showing up in employment figures, and now they pass a tax bill which actually increases individual taxes at a time when a recession is looming (if not already here).
What can they be thinking? How can they 'win'?
Well...here's my attempt at crystal balling.
All of the negatives I've listed above are true and can't be wished away. So the Dems will simply ignore them and their megaphones in the MSM will say nothing. The Dems will run on the following 'platform':
1. Trump is an existential threat to the Nation. We will destroy him and you have to vote Dem to accomplish this.
2. MAGA Republicans are, as Mrs Clinton put it in 2016, "racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic — you name it" and include "white supremacist and anti-Semitic voices."
"[T]hose folks — they are irredeemable." The Dems will tell you that you cannot allow them to re-take power.
3. Russia and China are an existential threat to the Nation and the World. America must lead the fight to preserve sacred Human Rights and Freedoms in Ukraine and Taiwan...and Syria and Kosovo...and elsewhere around the World where authoritarian and reactionary governments led by Nazi-esque and Hitler-esque rulers threaten to end the March of Human Progress. You have to vote Dem (or RINO) to do this.
Their megaphones in the MSM will broadcast this message across the country and Democrat power brokers and fundraisers will raise millions (billions?) of dollars from vested interests determined to remain in power to support the effort. Huge amounts of government dollars authorized to be spent to support Ukraine and 'fight' inflation and build back better and fund Obamacare will be recycled through the defense industry and other government contractors and lobbyists and 'think tanks' and NGOs to finance their messaging.
And the Dems will do everything in their power to preserve mail in voting, and all of the other election tactics used in 2020 to obtain more 'votes'.
Will it all work?
I sure hope not. But what should be a Republican landslide in 2022 will surely end up being a lot closer than it ought to be.
And giving Trump a huge lever against the DOJ and FBI.
Did Trump play rope a dope, perhaps through his continued irritations if the elites by focusing on election corruption and his huge success pushing candidates against Rinos, That caused the opposition / deep state to over react?
This will not end well. These people are out of their minds. There are many Trump-haters who will see the rule of law evaporating before their eyes, the dollar and the Country collapsing and a regime totally out of control, and will decide it is time to stop this. It won't be a Democrat-Republican thing. The counter-revolution will come from the Supreme Court, elements of the DOJ and even members of Congress of both parties. How will these imbeciles justify this? Trump himself would not use the military to enforce election law, but now they will voluntarily come to his support. They have crossed the Rubicon and even a servile media may be having second thoughts. All Washington was amenable to covering up a stolen election to avoid a Constitutional crisis. Now they have provoked a full-blown Constitutional crisis that cannot be covered up.
I mean can't they see the hardest hit by the persecution of the former president are .. Pence...pompeo... Barr, McCarthy, McConnell, McDaniel, etc al? Maybe the dem wing is burning the Republican wing in a panic. Powells putting the squeeze on and it's back to every political party for itself, to hell with the plan?
I went for a walk this evening and along the way I saw a guy sitting in front of his house. On his lawn was an old Trump/Pence campaign sign. We had a nice chat. I'm hoping that's a sign of reactions to come.
Trump holds all the cards. This is a panic move. A former president is raided and the FBI Director isn't even in the office for it? Yeah real national emergency stuff. Clowns. The only people this will hurt are Republican wing unipartarians.

He specifically bragged in their debate that he had impeached 'Bush' twice, apparently touting his botched clown show impeachment hearings.

By trying this she probably hopes to become a hero to the New York libs in her new district that loath Trump, and puts Nadler in his place because he couldn't hang anything on Trump.
Not a coincidence this happens after Trump begins to campaign on draining the swamp by firing federal bureaucrats. I can only imagine the firestorm that will follow this impudence by the FBI/DOJ. You can't rebuild this bridge. All trust is lost in this government.
