I frankly would never have expected a major polling outfit to run a poll—and what looks like a fairly thorough poll—on John Durham’s Russia Hoax investigation. I mean, in terms of MSM coverage, Durham’s investigation is flying very much under the radar. Nevertheless, TIPP has done so. Not surprisingly, only 31% of respondents were even aware of Durham’s investigation, but TIPP pushed on and provided data on both those who were learning of the investigation and those who were already aware of it. Unfortunately, I was unable to discover the partisan breakdown of that 31%.
"TIPP’s explanation for these somewhat surprising results is, to paraphrase, that many Americans remain somewhat naively idealistic—to a remarkable extent. They appear to believe that reform is possible:.."
Naively idealistic pretty much hits it on the head. Forget Durham, look at the nonresponse come and gone from everywhere else that's been involved in this mess.
The Senate intelligence committee, the FBI's and CIA's internals, the DOJ, State, FISA court, and the never ending list of other 3 and 4 letter agencies involved.
You can not reform our government, it only grows more proficient in protecting itself.
I imagine Steele and any current or former MI6 assets that are not American citizens (looking at you Fiona) are off limits to Durham for prosecution purposes. The AG is not going to submit an extradition request that would hold legal water because of our susceptibility to greymail. Any crimes the Brits did commit will be included in a classified annex of the final report Durham submits to Garland.
Looks like he's desperate to get out in front of whatever Durham is planning. Curious that any attorney advising him would let him do an interview, unless ABC is letting Steele -- and his attorney -- have editorial control. Given that is Stephanopoulos doing the interview, Steele and his attorney very well may have control of the interview, and what parts of it can be broadcast.
Looking at it another way, why would Steele even bother doing an interview like thus, if Durham were not sniffing his underwear drawer? I have to assume this will be Steele's opportunity to throw blame for the falsehoods he wrote in the Dossier memos on others.

Another pre-emptive PR strike, this time by Christopher Steele?

Curiously, this tweet has apparently been deleted.

"The wheels on the bus go 'round and 'round"? Or nah? I think I've more than earned my extreme cynicism/pessimism.
Pre-emptive PR strike to forestall AG shutting down Durham's probe?
