Why is a corrupt bureaucrat from the bowels of the state department directing US foreign policy and leading us into a war against Russia? Doesn’t make any damn sense. Isn’t there one honest, sensible person in the executive branch? Where’s the congress and impeachment when it’s actually needed?

And Victoria Nuland is about to become Deputy Secretary of State!

They would have boiled us slowly like the proverbial frog in a pot. We never would have known what hit us after they were through with us. And least now we have a chance.

Our smug and arrogant “betters” in government don’t even listen to us, “We the People,” let alone some foreign guy who isn’t providing the right amount of coin. Maybe that’s why all of those other foreigners donated so heavily to the clinton crime family global initiative.

I can't imagine what the world would be like now if HRC had succeeded in winning the WH. We'd probably all be huddled around fires, heating up rat souflée in a post-apocalyptic world instead of reading Mark's wonderful substack.

I almost - but not quite - felt sorry for Blinken in that exchange. It's Man against Child. As for failing to listen to Putin, I think the reason for that is a psychological one. The Blinkens, Sullivans and Nulands of this world are such pathological liars that they cannot believe that fact that an opponent might actually mean what he says - and deliver on it. Let's hope it leads to their downfall. I am still grappling with the truth that 30 or so years after the end of the Cold War, our main hope of defeating evil is not an American leader, but a Russian one.

I think it is supreme arrogance and hubris (perhaps the greatest sin). They consider the Slavs to be inferior and incapable of producing anything superior to what Americans have created. In spite of the fact that if you looked at the ethnic origins of many of the greatest scientists and inventors in this country in the past 150 or so years where would you find they came from?

Your great example is why the 'conservatively-oriented' don't buy the value of instantaneous deep contrary cultural changes. New doesn't mean better. The finest opportunity for large scale structural peace and prosperity in more than 100 yrs and it gets squandered through plain greed and double-dealing avarice. Peoples core behaviors can & do change, just very very very slowly. Caveat Emptor

Definitely one of those hinges of history. Instead we got fools like Fukuyama and the Harvard Boys rubbing the Russians' nose in it. As you say, extremely sad - and possibly fatal to the West.

G'evening Cass: Perusing that article evoked a jolt of recognition of today's failing Republic being led into tyranny (of a "21st Century Design!" Yea!) by a lot of "21st Century" Harvard Men. Leaders amongst a country-wide failing University Education system, so much of their debauchery leads to Dems, Neocons and Elites ruling the USA's decline. Seems many have done rather well, financially tho', huh? My best regards! (WrH)

True, Wayne! Whether they're called Harvard Boys, Davos, The UN or Rand, they all share the same characteristic: completely out of touch with the reality of life on the ground.

G'Sunday S'21! Like trying to understand a liar or a thief, I don't get why such mindsets exist - do folks really want to murder/kill off 6 billion Earth inhabitants? (Choose the least liked illiberal-minded cause after "do folks" and it fits - making absolutely no sense to me). Hope you have a spectacular summer sir! (WrH)

@Steve

I think you are right.

The Rats (Biden, Blinken, Nuland, etc.) report to the Money. If the Money decides that Biden can't win, its over for the Rats.

Who thinks Biden can win?

As for what happens after that, don't ask me...

The Russians have an amusing word for this: недоговороспособность — “agreement averse.”
