The final vote is supposed to be on Wednesday. Will there be more defections, will GOP senators here from the people back home? The day began with Rand Paul the only holdout, while The Turtle has been all in. Ten more GOP senators joined Paul. This Ukraine business is potentially a big loser for politicians who become identified with it. It won’t take long for voters to figure out that that $40 billion in aid is actually a money laundering operation that results in big bucks flowing to the arms industry—which then pays off the politicians through “campaign contributions” of one sort or another.
On behalf of all fellow real Texans I sincerely beg for forgiveness from American patriots. We try our best to send patriots to Washington to serve as Congressmen and Senators, but shills are what they almost always are. Corny and Cruise are worthless and I am nauseated by the both of them!
Rand Paul has an article at The Federalist. He's complaining about spending the money, not about the bad policy. OK, inflationary spending is bad, but this is war. Who will stand up and talk about the bad policy?
A measure of how far our Forever Warriors have ignored and blatantly, corruptly rejected, Eisenhower’s stern and pointed warning - thanks to Rascal Nick Of - excerpt from E’s farewell address cited by Michael Walsh in his latest Pipeline article:
In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist. We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic process. We should take nothing for granted. Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals, so that security and liberty may prosper together.
Every Republican lawmaker who votes for this bill should be primaried. If Democrats really cared about our country and its citizens they would vote against it.
We have been told that this was requested by the Ukrainians to keep their government going - paying salaries and pensions. Pensions are important to the war effort? We are being conned. I imagine the crafty guy who “requested” this had no idea we’d actually come through. The rest of the world shakes its collective head...
Considering that Nazi's in Azovstal are starting to lay down their weapons and come out of the pit AND that the RF and DPR/LPR Forces have 16-18k UAF practically encircled in the Severdonestek Cauldron.... this is an even bigger waste of money than it was 24 hrs ago.
Not that it has ANY thing to do with "helping Ukraine", just the MIC and Congress Critter investment portfolios.
why can't the repubs start playing hardball, They will go along with the bill if it includes finishing the border wall and making title 42 law.

Seems like the perfect time for a filibuster threat along with primary threats.

Note that Rand Paul did not allow recess nominations for Trump. It would have taken only 1 Senator to object, and no one did.
I appreciate Rand Paul on many issues, but the recess nomination actions bother me.
