I watched the new flick produced by Barry and Big Mike Obama on Netflix last night. It is exactly as expected complete with predictive programming, race horsesh*t subtext, etc, but, the two takeaways for me were: 1. all they need to do is turn off the internet and EVERYTHING else takes care of itself, and, 2. with the internet off and mass chaos ensuing in a complete communication blackout, the parasitic 'elite' class will EASILY get away - and I would bet that they all know this and they do not fear the populace. at. all.

They're such brittle, weak people.

Just a hint of criticism sends them into pearl clutching mode.

However, the problem they see is technically unsolvable.

The 'Internet Genie' is out of the bottle.

Biden has made it clear he is embarked on a path that leads toward a nuclear confrontation between the U.S. and Russia triggered by a Russian-NATO conflict.

Europe is afraid that if Donald Trump is elected in 2024, he may dismantle NATO.

American self-preservation dictates that we put Trump back in office.

Don’t say you weren’t warned.

Thanks for your excellent reporting. Trump needs to call out the bankster elite that have driven the US to absolute desperation. On why we should End the Fed, see my new book.

Ultimately, that last is about money.

I don’t see the money angle, the Kurds are the ones pumping the oil I thought. But, there was a U.S. company involved.

And related - 78 attacks against U.S. forces in the Middle East with no response?

"And why only 13 senators voting for withdrawal of U.S. forces from Syria?"

"Ultimately, that last is about money."

It's about campaign money for most senators.

I don't know if my following point is consistent with the theme of your latest post, but here goes.

Of the many things that lately make me ashamed to be a modern-day American, the railroading of Derek Chauvin, Thomas Lane, J. Alexander Kueng and Tou Thao is close to the top. The prosecutors literally have Derek's blood, though not his life, yet, on their hands.

George Floyd is the country's patron saint. We could add Mike Brown and Trayvon Martin to the list.

Government and the media led the charge for this throwback to a lynch mob. Don't forget the "insurrection" on January 6. But do forget when Kavanaugh opponents and Hamas supporters breached the Capitol.

A country built on lies can't stand for much.

You (Mr. Wauck) could add the modern Roman Catholic Church to this list of failures. The decline has only excelerated under Bergoglio.

Feel-good theology and finger pointing about climate change, DEI, the homeless, racism and sexism. A secular institution with a sheen of religiosity.

I had that in mind when I wrote societal institutions.

I don't subscribe to the notion that the cultural potency of the West is tied to the state of the government. True, a failed government will lead to deep hardship, and that may be a possibility in our future, but we the people seem presently afflicted by a parasitic, criminally mangy, two-faced and forgettable political and legal/beaurocratic/corporate class. (Trump is hated because he isn't one of them, and is effective.) However, very large portions of the populations of the West are not in a state of devolution - they see the rot for what it is, know how it is being gamed, elections and all, and seem ready to stand back as the temple columns come down on the clowns thieving at the circus. We the people will get through what is coming without turning bad.

Post script - the link goes to a YouTube of the lighting of the Cali Christmas Tree. Gavin Newsome is obviously over over produced and detached from popular reality. In addition to the snark of Governor Hairgel, we can add Governor Buabble Head (watch at the beginning as he ambles into view with the First Partner [LOL]). He will be less popular than Hillary.

Funny, earlier today I actually thought of the word, malaise, to describe the national mood.

I'm kinda depressed after reading this blog post. I read, hear, see, sense all the points Crooke shares. When he says "People say their unhappy about it, but they keep voting for more of the same." he is describing my wife. Love her to death but she is a native Chicagoan, born and raised, die-hard Dem (vote early, vote often).

And as much as I share with her what I can about what's going on in the world she either doesn't see/hear it or she doesn't WANT to see/hear about it. For example, the Middle East conflict is a non-starter discussion. Why? She has no knowledge of how the creation of Israel came about (other than the obvious) and no interest in understanding this. Further, she like many others feel we (she and I) aren't in enough "pain" e.g. impacted enough just yet. Inflation, property taxes, etc... Where there's no pain, the impact doesn't sink in.

She knows Zhou's a loser and some of his admin policies but she says Trump's a narcissist and that out "trumps" Trump. Logic and reason are out the window when politics comes up at the dinner table. Was hoping Crooke would have touched on aspects of logic, reason, critical thinking in his analysis in addition to his "foundational traditions and beliefs". Apparently, these aren't enough anymore.

But until there's pain... I mean real pain...

AC: Agree with you, things are pretty depressing right now. I’m firmly convinced that the Sword of Damocles hangs over the US and none of the possibilities facing us appear to offer anything except pain and suffering beyond imagination. The social fabric of the country is in tatters. Fiscal irresponsibility is rampant in DC. The legal system is a joke, albeit a very bad one. Biden is a doddering old fool who has no business being POTUS and Harris is the poster child for incompetence. You can count the reliable and honest politicians in DC on one hand. The MSM is nothing more than the Ministry of Propaganda and should be thoroughly ashamed to call themselves journalists. 2024 may prove to be the most consequential period since the Civil War and possibly just as tumultuous. Interesting times on steroids is what I expect to be our lot.

Probably during the George Bush presidency, I started to wonder why anyone would want to be president. And really, the quality of the candidates on both sides (outside of Trump) is appalling. None of the non-Trump Republicans is remotely close to being fit to be president. Biden isn't fit to be president. The non-Biden alternatives are Harris (who isn't fit to be president) and Newsom (a pathological liar). Tucker Carlson didn't seem to take Bobby Kennedy's campaign as serious in the podcast that I linked to earlier. Crooke's writings seem to ring true.

The Republican response to Trump pushed me out of the Party. That response made it clear to me that we are dealing with a Uniparty. Republicans and Democrats in government each play their assigned roles but for most of them it's all just an act. No principles or integrity. Just words from a script written by their donors.

Great thoughts, Mark.

Tucker Carlson had interesting comments about Newsom in the All-In podcast, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4pLY1X46H1E

Starting around the 1 hour mark, Carlson talks through the candidates for president. He says that there is no way that Biden will do a second term and that Newsom will be the Democrats' candidate. But what he says about Newsom is really interesting. Basically, Carlson says that he has known very few people who can lie without showing it -- and that Newsom is one of them. Newsom seems to spook Carlson with this.

This from Taibbi at Racket news: psychopaths just tell lies, lies and more lies. I didn’t link because it’s behind a paywall:

“A series of remarkable events with enormous consequences for Ukraine tumbled in rapid succession this week, lifting the veil on years of untrammeled and proud — yet ultimately purposeless and sociopathic — lying by the Biden administration and the Pentagon about the war there.”

“psychopaths have no empathy and no remorse. Winning is everything” Sounds like we’re moving (as Tucker predicts) from one psycho to another! Biden to Gruesome. Biden especially strikes me as an accomplished, and now quite ill and aeging, psychopath. But a useful one. Scary times ahead indeed.

Beyond all the foreign lucre going into Zhou’s many pockets, shouldn’t Comer be looking at impeachment based firmly and simply on the conduct of the war in Ukraine (never having a vote on it in Congress) and its being run by a State neocon gaggle stuck 70+ years ago..add to that the bloody quagmire in Israel in which Zhou/Blinken is “blinkered” by past (again!) family history and pressure from Jewish lobby…thereby defrauding US citizens? Anyway, just my thoughts…
