One would think that the Military Industrial Complex types would understand the truth, it requires industrial might to sustain a real fight. I'm referring to real war fought with a real military adversary, not tribal sheep & goat herders for 20 years, at a cost of trillions of $$$ wasted. But apparently, the MIC and the DC PTB are actually quite unique in that they are delusional, stupid, foolish, freaks . . .

After seeing The Pentagon Wars, it's painfully clear that the MIC is more focused on hitting production targets rather than developing serious capabilities.

Somewhat O/T, but as it concerns the Ukraine war: First pronouns, now adjectives! What is Annalena smoking? A fellow commenter referred to W Shryver below, and I just came across this on his twitter thread today. Completely bonkers. Why Scholz hasn’t fired his Foreign Minister already, I’ll never know.

I love these Politico titles! How ‘bout “The Pentagon is Freaking Out about Losing the War in Ukraine - Never Mind Starting One with China.”

I'd love to be inside to see what a Pentagon freakout looks like. Do they freak out like the rest of us or is it in a more orderly fashion...

It seems like Team Biden is riven with schizophrenia. On the one hand they want to destroy the traditional America and its values; on the other, they still want America to be the top dog.

That's more like multiple personality disorder I think.

Maybe. Perhaps we should just stick to the umbrella term here - insanity! :)

Lol!

The Elite want to destroy traditional America and then run the resulting ‘country’.

The Elite want to destroy Russia and China and then run the World.

It would be very profitable.

Exactly. Always remember the basic economic notion of the scramble for scarce resources. Neocons and neoliberals not satisfied with raping the former USSR in the 90’s after the collapse, they want revenge and the rest of Russia’s resources for their own power and wealth. All these resources are finite and the strong covet them in order to rule the world. We are entering Mad Max world.

Very interesting point

If the Pentagon has war gamed all scenarios with China for the past several years and America is Massively defeated each and every time....... now they get worried? SMH

Sold up the river again by Hill, Vickie, Samantha & their neocon cronies.

Why in the world would we worry about China attacking us if it weren’t for these provocations?

For China, that’d be killing the goose that laid the golden egg.

Makes no sense.

And yet it seems to be part of the national psychology. On the one hand Americans are quick to lionize supposedly oppressed hero nations--it allows for the virtue signaling that modern America lives and breathes. On the other hand, Americans are equally quick to accept boogeyman narratives that demonize other nations as existential threats to all human existence. Makes for easy manipulation of the public.

I think we should just go ahead and evacuate Americans from Taiwan now. Wait… Hold my beer.

You're probably already on this, Mark--here's a post from a guy William Shriver. I'm not really sure who he is, but he shows up on my Twitter feed with strong takes:

He goes over the fundamentals.

@WarMonitors

During the first few days of the offensive, the Armed Forces of Ukraine lost 16 American Bradley infantry fighting vehicles

This is 15% of all such vehicles transferred by Washington to Kyiv, CNN reports, citing Oryx

Didn't that Lone munitions factory in TN blow up a few months ago rendering it defunct?

Expand full comment

I believe the munitions factory in TN that is referred to in Mark's article is Holston Defense (Holston Army Plant) in Kingsport, TN. I had a relative that worked there for some years.

Apparently there was a munitions factory Minden, LA, which blew up almost two years ago (link), but you are right about one in TN too.

True on your last point

I wonder if some of that massive heavy and complicated wunder waffen of the US arsenal is not being brought in under the guise of Air Defender War Game ? Be very easy to put on cargo aircraft and prepositioned to shorten the logistic tail.

I would also bet that a percentage of the personnel who are part of Air Defender actually stay in theater.

Also sure the Russians are keeping a very close eye on what exactly is being brought in etc. I am sure they have war gamed out all scenarios

I seem to remember Putin stating they had prepared for every eventuality shortly after the SMO commenced.

i have to wonder how the aircrews of the B52s who last month were taunting the Russians by flying right up to the "firing point " really feel. Do they really believe the jet jockey BS or are some cognizant that they are literally flying into the Danger Zone???
