Yes. Swift being shut off for sure is well established and for me is the most compelling argument for invalidity question of Francis. I was referring to the Burke forces part of the block to elect Leo to avoid Zuppi and Parolin. Again ,enjoy your writings. Interesting days.
Almost of your article is "new news" for me, with appreciation. Some possible Trump Catholic whisperers are: 1) Gen. Michael Flynn, who works to rescue trafficked children and adults, sometimes in conjunction with Tim Ballard's organization, other organizations along with Mel Gibson and Tony Robbins; 2) Father Altman, a "cancelled priest" who made possible the delivery of the Saint Michael Statue to Donald Trump during his persecution period between his two presidential terms; 3) Father Chad Ripperger, who wrote/recommended a prayer of Consecration to the Blessed Mother for the U.S.A. and any other personal needs of guardianship by Our Lady.
I looked for the public story, which does not reach to SWIFT, which I cobble together here from BBC and CNN:
The Vatican bank, the Institute for Works of Religion (IOR = Istituto per le Opere di Religione) has in the past been implicated in major money-laundering scandals.
The bank's global reach, high volume of cash transactions and a lack of information about some charitable organizations made it vulnerable to money laundering.
Deutsche Bank Italia had run the payments system for the Vatican since 1997. It was told in 2010 by the [Central] Bank of Italy that it needed authorization, which it duly sought. That request triggered an in-depth assessment of the Vatican's banking regulation by the Bank of Italy.
A Council of Europe group called Moneyval produced a report in 2012 that found the Vatican bank did not meet international standards for financial oversight. The Vatican had not implemented legislation necessary for an effective supervisory regime.
The Bank of Italy told Deutsche Bank in December 2012 it would not receive authorization to continue arranging payments after December 31.
From January 1, 2013, Vatican museums and shops were unable to accept credit or debit card payments after Deutsche Bank "deactivated its terminals."
The Vatican sidestepped EU banking rules by turning to a Swiss company to restore card payments in its museums and shops. Vatican spokesman Federico Lombardi said Swiss card payment specialist Aduno was contracted to provide the service beginning on Tuesday, February 12.
***On Monday February 11, Benedict announced that he would resign.***
The Bank of Italy said it was not required to approve the new arrangement because Aduno was not based in the European Union. EU law prevents EU banks from operating in non-EU states unless they have adequate supervision. /fin
I probably should have included this in the post itself. I'm aware that the substack I linked to is, uh, shall we say, 'over the top'. My purpose wasn't to endorse the substack generally. It was simply a convenient way for me to present the actual facts regarding the removal of B16. The actions of Swift are fact.
Once upon a time WikiLeaks joined the dots ...

Sorry for all the posts, this well reasoned article got me going down the rabbit hole. Wonder how much the American Papal Foundation played in all this. Clearly, Dolan ran point https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-14685977/maga-catholics-vatican-trump-pope.html

Fascinating.
I'm waiting for a Trump Tower to go up in the Vatican.
Dolan as secret rep in conclave for 47 and WH is interesting. I suspect you're right because there is a relationship between 47 and Dolan such as Trump naming Dolan on religious liberty WH commission https://catholicvote.org/trump-establishes-religious-liberty-commission-appoints-bishop-barron-cardinal-dolan/

Thanks, Jason, but it's not "my" theory. This has been examined, um, nine ways to Sunday.

The new Pope is from Chicago. They used Swift again.
I didn’t know about the Swift connection in Benedict’s removal. Thanks for this very interesting and fairly heartening take. Ad Jesum per Mariam ⚔️
My wife says "I rise to the bait" quite often too. My naivete sometimes gets the best of me. Glad I could contribute in some fashion.
I wonder what role Melania might have played in Trump's actions? Pillow talk can be persuasive.
The excuse used to remove the Vatican from swift was all the financial malfeasance in the Vatican banks.
I view it as another color revolution by Obama.

US Aid / Catholic charities spigot threatened then?
Still it is good to be reminded of facts which led up to resignation. The mystery of WHO did what to close the Vatican bank and why?
