NYT Brain Storms Exit Strategy--Blame Ukraine!

It’s an excellent report. I highly recommend for anyone who’s looking for a granular explanation of what’s going on in the war. Here’s the short version: The Ukrainian military is on the verge of collapse.

However, Moon cites two developments that are significant in the big picture of the US war on Russia.

First of all, I hope we’re all clear that the US is waging a war on Russia. Top regime officials have made it abundantly clear in repeated public statements that this is a fight to the finish, to victory. Victory is defined as “destroying Russia”, reducing the ruble to rubble. We’re assured by the UK puppet masters that relations with Russia will “never” be normal—at least, not until Putin is deposed and, presumably, put on trial for violations of the Rules-Based Order. Zhou, too, has called for regime change. Ex-prez Alfred E. Dubya has told Russian pranksters posing as Zelensky that his job is to “kill as many Russian military as possible.”

So, with all that blood curdling rhetoric being broadcast to both the Russian and the American publics, we were suddenly treated to the remarkable spectacle of Lloyd Austin taking time off from important diversity matters to beg Russia for a ceasefire. A break from Ukrainians killing as many Russians as possible. That was a week ago. This week it was Mikey Milley’s turn to call the Russians and beg. These guys must have the Russians rolling on the floor.

Could it be any more clear that the Zhou regime has belatedly realized that they’ve screwed up on a global scale and that the Chicken Kiev is likely to come home to roost in November? The absurd attempts of regime apparatchiks to blame inflation and every other regime made disaster on Putin are being greeted with all the derision they deserve. And now they’re apparently begging Putin to pull their fat out of the fire, as the temperature keeps going up. Not likely. Can you imagine how desperate Dems are, currently?

And so, given the unlikelihood of a Russian rescue mission on behalf of the Zhou regime, the NYT—quoted by Moon—has helpfully stepped in to point toward a possible off ramp. The suggestion is breathtaking in its assumption that We the People are the fools who are born every day, who will soon be separated from their money. I’m not kidding you—the NYT’s idea is to shift the blame for the debacle to the Ukrainians:

The War in Ukraine Is Getting Complicated, and America Isn’t Ready

Well, Ukraine always was complicated and America never was ready to deal with it responsibly. America wasn’t ready when Papa Bush was derided for his prescient “Chicken Kiev” speech, it wasn’t ready when the Clintons thumbed their nose at Russia by expanding NATO and bombing the shit out of Serbia, it wasn’t ready when Dubya filled Ukraine with bioweapon labs, it wasn’t ready in 2014 when we staged the coup against the elected government of Ukraine, it wasn’t ready when Trump went way overboard shipping weapons to Ukraine, and it wasn’t ready when the Zhou regime goaded Putin into finally taking defensive action.

But the NYT is counting on Americans to ignore all that history and accept shifting the blame for this shameful humanitarian disaster to our puppet money-laundering regime. And so they pretend to be taking the high ground, as if they hadn’t been cheerleading the whole disgraceful war on Russia project. Therefore the NYT seeks “clarity” on certain questions, because “U.S. aims and strategy in this war have become harder to discern.”

Is the United States, for example, trying to help bring an end to this conflict, through a settlement that would allow for a sovereign Ukraine and some kind of relationship between the United States and Russia? Or is the United States now trying to weaken Russia permanently? Has the administration’s goal shifted to destabilizing Vladimir Putin or having him removed? Does the United States intend to hold Mr. Putin accountable as a war criminal? Or is the goal to try to avoid a wider war — and if so, how does crowing about providing U.S. intelligence to kill Russians and sink one of their ships achieve this?

Right. How do we back away from all that? Because let’s be honest—all of the above, except for seeking a peaceful settlement, have been our repeatedly stated goals. Top US officials have openly stated that the US is at war with Russia, and their statements have not been repudiated. And so the NYT pivots—to November:

The current moment is a messy one in this conflict, which may explain President Biden and his cabinet’s reluctance to put down clear goal posts. All the more reason, then, for Mr. Biden to make the case to American voters, well before November, that support for Ukraine means support for democratic values and the right of countries to defend themselves against aggression — while peace and security remain the ideal outcome in this war.

Ukraine has the right to defend itself? As if we haven’t been aggressively preparing Ukraine for an offensive war for the past eight years? Please note—that’s the first move of the pivot. Do you see? Zhou, the NYT is saying, must make the case to voters “well before November”—preferably immediately—that we were only supporting Ukrainian self defense. All those things we’ve been saying, well, nevermind. But then slyly the blame gets shifted further:

A decisive military victory for Ukraine over Russia, in which Ukraine regains all the territory Russia has seized since 2014, is not a realistic goal.

Unrealistic expectations could draw them ever deeper into a costly, drawn-out war.

In the end, it is the Ukrainians who must make the hard decisions:

Biden should also make clear to President Volodymyr Zelensky and his people that there is a limit to how far the United States and NATO will go to confront Russia, and limits to the arms, money and political support they can muster. It is imperative that the Ukrainian government’s decisions be based on a realistic assessment of its means and how much more destruction Ukraine can sustain.

Confronting this reality may be painful, but it is not appeasement.

You see? Zhou’s regime and the Dems are the victims here—victims of unrealistic goals on the part of the Ukrainians. We’ve got to get tough with Zelensky! There are limits to how far we will allow Ukraine to lead us around by the nose—them and their unrealistic expectations! And then there’s the subtle hint: Tell Zelensky we’ll pull the plug on him if he doesn’t dance to our changed tune. We’re the ones who need to talk reason to those unreasonable Ukrainians. And, after all, what could be more unreasonable than relying on American promises and assurances?

And to get this ball rolling toward the off ramp, please put a sock in it:

Recent bellicose statements from Washington — President Biden’s assertion that Mr. Putin “cannot remain in power,” Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin’s comment that Russia must be “weakened” and the pledge by the House speaker, Nancy Pelosi, that the United States would support Ukraine “until victory is won” — may be rousing proclamations of support, but they do not bring negotiations any closer.

Not only do “recent bellicose statements” make it unlikely that Putin will cut America any slack, but if that nonsense continues November could be even more painful than it already looks like it will be.

The painful reality is that this debacle is playing out on the world stage. The Afghan screw-up was bad, but how many people think about Afghanistan from day to day? That screw-up didn’t causing inflation, energy shortages, food shortages. This time is and will be different—a US led war on Russia will capture world attention. Has already. And our geniuses in the Zhou regime will be taking full credit for their fecklessness and their policy insanity whether they want the credit or not. No matter what the NYT says.

Would it be churlish of me to give a big shout out to the Uniparty establishment that brought a once proud nation to this point? I’m currently sick to my stomach, listening to Dubya talking about “rigged elections” in other countries. It makes me ill to listen to Mitch McConnell criticizing brave senators who stood up against the craziness as best they felt able to do. I’d like nothing more than to see a reckoning.
