That Bush quote certainly seems Freudian... assuming the man actually has a conscience informing his subconscious. That said, I'm not sure he is analytical enough of himself to actually have shame.
Re: Eno, how refreshing it is to see a celebrity (yes, he still is one, in the UK) not only break away from the herd/sheep mentality but actually criticize it. Then again, he is a thinker (and a genius to boot) whereas the vast majority of them just hop on whatever the latest virtue signalling bandwagon is without giving it a second thought.
The greatest political regret of my life was voting for Bush in 2004 out of my loathing of John Kerry. Trump's presidency revealed just how truly awful a person Bush is--he was just better at concealing his corruption and evil than was Kerry.
Is there anybody else here who would like to know what the note that got passed around at Pappy Bush's funeral said?
As bad as Bush was in hindsight, I have no doubt Kerry would have been far worse for our nation. Perhaps Iran and Iraq would both be nuclear already? We got hit by a bullet, but dodged a bomb.
I was told that I was very brave for not wearing a mask at my school. Each week, a few other brave souls joined me. I never considered it brave. I am just stubborn and I don't like being told what to do.
This captures the absurdity and deceit of our current discourse so completely and fully that it's hard to believe it actually happened.
It's so rare for perfection this pure to materialize. The universe is speaking loudly here. Appreciate what it just provided: https://t.co/bWxQ8SEvC3

Greenwald has stepped up so strongly over the past few years that I'm sure I'm not at all alone in seeing him now as an American treasure.
You took the words right out of my mouth and more elegantly expressed them.
I considered weaving that aspect into my comment above and in the end opted for economy instead, so thanks for doing the deed for me.

bush the lesser should stick to painting in private
and be thankful he still can after assigning a much worse fate to millions of others

Everything Bush said leading up to that freudian slip was just as jarring. Pure projection.
Exactly. "Rigged elections". I can identify with that.

The poor quality of advice U.S. Presidents get about Russia is... mind boggling.
Here is one of Trump's advisors complaining that Putin "smelled odd" at a meeting.
What was the smell? Cleanliness.
He smelled "freshly laundered." This disturbed her.
...
Fiona Hill. This is really weird. When guys at work started talking like this the rest of us knew there was a problem:

Fiona Hill.
Interesting she got branded as a Trump Advisor.
When actually she was actually working to get Trump impeached.
Agree 100% on the quality of Trumps Advisors. With advisors like this, who needs enemies?

Of equal importance: What did Fiona Hill smell like to Vladimir Putin? Who knows the ramifications of this to diplomacy and world peace? /sarc

To be clear, this was sarcasm.
You don't get to kill a million people and then say "oops... my bad!"

On the other hand, John Kerry has since proven he’s even more loathsome than we thought in 2004.
I was thinking about those letters just the other day.
