At some point, Russia will demonstrate they can move against the front-lines in the Uke War at will. This would frame the facts on the ground ahead of a settlement offer along the lines of "some or all" of Ukraine as the table stakes. There are far reaching consequences if the offer is rejected (= all of Ukraine taken by Russia).

Mercouris made the point today that if the Russians reach the Dnieper--which they will, they already have in the lower reaches--the remainder of Ukraine will never be truly be economically viable, because the Dnieper is the main artery for trade.

I am a citizen of the United States and have only that passport. No matter what happens, I will fight for and die in America.

The United States Congress has not declared war on Russia. If anyone is treasonous, it is those who call me such.

Please tell them that very clearly.

Utter delusion, deepest denial: a basis for foreign policy? But what if these Neos and other motley war-mongers are not at all in denial or deeply deluded? Could it be that taking down Russia, and with it, Europe, IS their goal, and one of long-standing? When you look at the sleepwalkers in Europe, the pathetic narcissism of one-eyed Scholz wearing an eye patch and his partner in Paris who has put on circuses for the pleb (Rugby World Cup/24 Olympics), meanwhile inflation marches on and the Gilets Jaunes are nowhere to be seen! I think the US knows very well what it’s doing, vile, craven and despicable a foreign policy as it is. I just wonder how long the West can continue this outward denial in the face of rising BRICS and wilting G20 (cf their bland statement which didn’t mention Russia once!). …

Richard Kemp is so emotionally vested in this war it’s clouded any rationale thinking he might have ever possessed. He wears his emotion in every sentence and word due to his and Britain’s centuries old disdain for Russia.

Sure, he has an audience across the pond but anyone else taking his council or thoughts as potential action should be seriously put in an insane asylum along with him.

In the John Mearsheimer Duran podcast a couple things were not mentioned:

- de dollarization

- seizing of Russia foreign reserves

- Trump Ukraine impeachment

- Hunter Biden Ukraine money

- role / power of Ukraine Money on us politics

- paper strength of Ukraine military at start of war

- neocon strategy to use Ukraine to drain Russia, Afghanistan 2.0

- rise of extreme censorship in Europe of Russian side, and on internet.

- Wef / Soros

He’s playing it safe. Lest lose some credibility. Reading yesterday’s blog showed his flip flop.

Yup. Nor did Mearsheimer mention Trump's (and Rama's) declared intention to end the war if elected. If I had to guess I would say that Mearsheimer catches enough flak for being a 'Putin apologist'; he doesn't need to be labelled a Trumpster on top of that (even if he would probably agree that Trump could end the war...).

Can I ask why people are referring to Biden as ‘Zhou’?

It’s the Chinese word for Joe apparently.

"But this degree of delusion on Kemp’s part sums up the existential and spiritual crisis of the West." The ability to think critically has vanished from the Western world. The brain-much of PC and Wokeness has penetrated the brains of all our so-called "leaders". Putin and Lavrov are toying with them.

The way they carry on are not just trees falling in the forest. They will be cowardly acts of terror.

Kemp is a real treat. I'll stand by my comment on this article I made earlier today on some other site that recently changed its name:

"To get a good glimpse of what jingoistic deepest delusion looks like, check out Richard Kemp's masterpiece of the form in the Telegraph."

The clown show, it burns.

John Mearsheimer in the Duran podcast written about yesterday made the point realistic talk of the situation is not allowed. Milley being the example of his call for negotiations, where he was shut down. Your writings won’t be published and you will be blackballed if you stray from the approved narrative.

But the West is increasingly desperate to start negotiations ASAP--before Russian starts an offensive of its own.

It constantly amazes me how the Neocons continue to totally misread everything that is going on around them. Coupled with their conviction that anyone, other than themselves, actually believes the propaganda they push about the state of the Ukraine debacle and Russia’s imminent defeat and collapse, is so absurd that it reminds me of Bagdad Bob.

These labels mean little these days. I used to describe myself as a "conservative", but having seen how Boris Johnson and the GOP behave, I've eschewed that label. I think we're gradually whittling down the options to Good V Evil.

The first neocons were indeed former Communists (Trotskyites, to be more specific) who, having rejected Marxism, nevertheless merely attached their dreams of world revolution to Liberalism. In other words, they remained committed modernist utopians but under different ideological auspices. This move illustrates the deep kinship that exists between Liberalism and Communism as mere variant currents of Modernity.

The fall of Goldberg has been a thing to behold. I can't know what really has driven it, but it's hard to not to think it's in very large part the power that a man's social circles combined with his accustomed standard of living has on him if in the end he's a man of little true principle.

I treasure my closest relationships, friends and family alike, beyond words. And I'd hate to see a serious drop in my (already modest) standard of living. But if I had to lose every relationship and live as a pauper in order to continue speaking honestly, I'd do it in a heartbeat. It would suck - hard - but I couldn't live with myself otherwise.

This used to be a thing far more common than it is now, in my view, and we're a far weaker country for getting away from it.
