In a recent post—Is A Major Escalation Of The Neocon War On The World In The Works?—I argued that the Neocon regime in DC was preparing for escalation on both the Middle East front as well as the Russian front.
This is a quote pulled directly from the Executive Order issued on February 1, 2024. It sure looks like from the verbiage that it a two state solution is now settled foreign policy.
“These actions undermine the foreign policy objectives of the United States, including the viability of a two-state solution and ensuring Israelis and Palestinians can attain equal measures of security, prosperity, and freedom.”
Mark I think your characterization of the proposed “solution” as being nothing more than a cobbled together “Rube Goldberg” device that is totally dependent upon the dubious expectation that all of the assembled parts and pieces work together flawlessly, is another indication of the “fanciful”, and I personally think delusional, mindset of the neocons.
What’s the old saying, “it’s a hell of a way to run a railroad”?
Reports of renewed U.S. and U.K. strikes near the cities of Sanaa, Hodeidah, Dhamar, Taiz, Hajjah and Al-Bayda in Yemen.
Sources are also claiming that within the last few minutes the Houthis have launched several anti-ship ballistic missiles towards the US ships in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.
Two things relating to Simplicius’ quote, ”would mean the eventual total dissolution of Israel and the forfeiture of all prophecies of Moshiach’s return.”
Starting at the back: is the Lord’s hand so weak that mere men can cause the forfeiture of Mosiach’s return? The question is rhetorical because that is ridiculous.
The other point remains in the theological. Solomon makes very clear in his temple dedication speech (2 Chronicles 6) that The Lord is very willing to send the Israelis away on account of their sins. And then when they repent and turn back to Him, their return will happen.
On top of that, while those of us who believe in the New Covenant in the Blood of Jesus, Yeshua, are awaiting His return, the Jews who believe in the Old Covenant from Mount Sinai and the Davidic Covenant (which Christ Jesus fulfilled and will continue to fulfill forever) are expecting His first advent.
I don't see Netanyahu or whoever succeeds him aligning to a 2 state solution. Further, I don't see the US Israeli lobby signing up for this either.
If there is a 2 state solution and US security guarantees then I believe it will need to be much broader as in EU part of the equation. Still, there's no upside IMO to this as Iran and it's proxies loom constantly.
I agree. There are all sorts of problems here. So far it's just talk, and may well not get further. It's an indication of what a mess we've put ourselves in.
Thinking more about this, security guarantees just from the US isn't enough. Israel would need the same from Russia and China to counter balance the others in the Mideast.

The US has, for the most part, paid lip service to this policy, while winking to Israel.
