This will surprise nobody here, but indicative of how long it will take to turn this barge around, no matter the stated changes in official policy. Inertia (especially, as insidious/deep-seated as here) always finds a way:

They may have already spent it and need the funds before the checks start bouncing.

Spent it or hiding it in off shore banks?

Well, Kudos to Johnson for standing strong (for now) on the 60bn. The necons know that 60bn or 600bn won't make any difference to the outcome, so it's one last effort at filling the pork barrel before things go south.

I’m not a finance guy but I always wondered why blocking money to Ukraine caused so much hysteria, after all shipping weapons stockpiles would be long term loan contracts or for obsolete weapons simply transport costs or donations.

I wonder if the money is simply temporarily propping up the entire Ukrainian state.

A million soldiers at $2000 a month, not to mention lost revenue from the East, arms manufacturing, and millions of working aged people leaving the country, hundreds of thousands disabled or dead and agricultural blockades, how can it continue to pay the bills?

I’d say it is high time we gave Chicken Little credit: the sky IS falling, and a huge chunk just fell on V Nuland’s head, consigning, many of us hope, the US’ Russiaphobic daredevilry to the dustbin. Foxy Loxys of the world, take note!

What landed on Nuland's head was probably a lucrative consulting contract and executive level position with one of the left wing think tanks.

M. K. Bhadrakumar Missed in his article that Putin feels lied to on Minsk Accords, and Merkel and the French President even admitted it was meant to buy time.

My guess is Trump by being elected made the deepstate do another Syria on him, where they said one thing, and did another.

And the Trump got all lubed up, and touched a third rail of American politics due to all the dark money flowing from Ukraine into US politics, with both hands, by asking about Biden’s corruption to the Ukraine President. Which Trump then got impeached over.

Right. I thought the first half of the article was missing the real picture.

Yup, as the French say, Trump was the “hair in the soup” of the IC (six ways from Sunday), MIC and Think-Tank crowd’s Big money scheme - he had to be removed.

Question-

How does Israel benefit from the USSA going out on a limb and cutting the branch off behind them?

Is it wanton hubris or something nefarious?

Yes, it is wanton hubris, Lyon, topped up with a large dose of short-term greed. This is the level of thinking, if one can call it that, which comes to the fore during final stages of empires. These people are still stuck in 1991 mode where the US and its clients can do anything to anyone, and the anyones have to suck it up. Neocon (both DC and Jerusalem's) policy will destroy Israel at some point not too far down the line, and have egregious consequences for the West too.

It’s like Ukraine - the policy works until it doesn’t. We’re at that point right now!

The idea is that the US is used to advance Israeli interests regardless of the effect on US interests. Kama Sutra's speech and some scripted remarks by Zhou are indicators that some in the US recognize the harm that's being done. They're trying to have it both ways--fool Americans with rhetoric but keep getting money from the Lobby. Israel typically follows short term interests, figuring they can always finesse the next crisis.
