You state: "Alliances and alignments in this region are constantly shifting—or so it seems to me. Right now, it appears that the RSF are “our guys”"

This article in The Hill states:

"The Wagner Group — a notorious private military company owned by close Putin ally Yevgeny Prigozhin, nicknamed “Putin’s Chef” — began providing high-level training and intelligence sharing to the RSF in 2017. "

"In return for its services, Wagner was given control of several gold mines in Darfur, Blue Nile, and other Sudanese regions. The RSF has long controlled gold extraction in Sudan, giving Wagner an easy avenue to precious resources. The Russian-controlled mines are run via front companies that are connected to Prigozhin and various other members of Moscow’s elite. Meroe Gold, an extractor in Sudan, was sanctioned by the U.S. Department of Treasury in 2020 for ties to Wagner."

"the RSF facilitated the planned construction of a Russian Navy base in the Port of Sudan"

These statements are the complete opposite of each other, How can the RSF be "Our Guys" and at the same time be supported by or in alignment with the Wagner Group?

He stated that alliances are constantly shifting. We imposed sanctions in 2020. Back then, the world hadn't learned that the US could be resisted, so the sanctions probably had their desired effect. The RSF probably pivoted back to the US - probably got a nice payday for it, too.

RSF is aligned with the CIA and MI6. and was aligned until a little over a year ago with Sudan's military gov't to become a civilian led gov't. My guess is it wasn't happening quickly enough based on US thinking.

The Hill by Andy Cohen, seriously? I suspect the term "our guys" was sarcasm and the Hill article is disinformation intended to deceive and confuse.

Just trying to figure out who is who in this conflict in Sudan. Dismissing the Hill article out of hand as disinformation is not helpful. Give me something concrete?

Where else can I find accurate information about this Sudan conflict, that you would not dismiss as disinformation?

As NF said check out the Duran, it may lead you to what you are seeking. As for my comment the key word here suspect.......Sarcasm seems quite plausible on the term "our guys" and when it's in the The Hill, and an opinion article then suspect works for describing possible disinformation. I dismiss articles like this as they seem so ready to denigrate Russia on behalf of the bewildered NEOCONS who are losing face, the face of the USA, around the world.

Just returned and will also watch. RSF is also reported to have supplied mercenaries to the anti-Houthi side in Yemen. That would put them on the CIA side. But that's part of why I said that alignments keep shifting.

The real take-aways from this entire fiasco are these:

(1) Government officials have been lying relentlessly for over a year;

(2) Our government is run by a bunch of imcompetent people at pretty much every single level.

Are they incompetent or does their innate evil nature provide the means to lie so effortlessly? Mistakes are usually made when one tries so hard to remember their own lies and evil actions.
