Yesterday we floated the idea that the NYT’s lawsuit to get access docs related to Baidan Crime Family dealings in Romania (which isn’t news) might be a step toward pressuring Zhou to quit. Obviously that would be contingent on finding a plausible replacement, and that’s a huge problem given the massive unpopularity of the 2nd and 3rd in line.
Just to add a bit of fuel to this speculation …
It’s becoming increasingly difficult to conceal Zhou’s mental decline from the public—anyone who’s anyone in DC is fully aware of this. Yesterday Thomas Lifson posted a video clip of Zhou that was really stunning: If you wanted proof Biden isn't in charge of his own administration, here it is... What the video clip shows is Zhou opening up for questions—and his handlers simply override him and shut the event down, while he sits there grinning like a goof:
Lifson observes:
My guess is that he was showing signs of incoherence, of the phenomenon known as "sundowning," where a dementia patient loses coherence as the day wears on.
But whatever the cause of the change of plans, it is crystal clear that Biden is not calling the shots at his own public event. Someone else — a female voice off-camera — shuts down the questions …
Who thinks Putin, Xi, and every other world leader don’t know this?
Later in the day we learned that Pelosi is planning on limiting the SOTU to, I’m not kidding, twenty five people. Bonchie at Red State totally gets what’s going on:
Joe Biden is getting set to deliver his first State of the Union address, or at least that’s the current plan. Given his penchant for sundowning, whether he actually speaks will probably have a lot to do with what kind of day he’s having. …
…
So what’s the real reason? I have my suspicions. Namely, I suspect that when you are dealing with someone in steep mental decline, not having hundreds of people clapping and groaning can only make things easier. Given Joe Biden’s penchant for melting down while speaking publicly, whatever help Pelosi can give him will surely be well-received.
Yet, even if we assume this is just about COVID-19, what kind of message does it send to the world that the President of the United States is so weak and feeble that he can’t be in a massive room with more than 25 people? Does anyone think Xi Jinping or Vladimir Putin are looking at this spectacle of absurdity and thinking anything other than they can take advantage of the situation?
If you look at these incidents—and there are many more—you can imagine the anxiety of our Rulers. Even a puppet president is hard to replace without giving your game away. Our rulers thought this was good enough for America—anything to be rid of the Orange Man—but it’s a trainwreck.
Moreover, it could be getting worse in the not too distant future if they don’t pull the trigger soon. We’re going to find out, officially, on Friday that the employment picture and the real economy are in meltdown. Here’s what Rasmussen is telling us about public sentiment currently:
50% Support Biden’s Impeachment
Monday, January 31, 2022
Half of voters believe President Joe Biden should be impeached, and nearly as many think Republicans will do it if they win a congressional majority in the midterm elections.
A new national telephone and online survey by Rasmussen Reports and The National Pulse finds that 50% of Likely U.S. voters support the impeachment of Biden, including 33% who Strongly Support it. Forty-five percent (45%) are opposed to impeaching Biden, including 33% who Strongly Oppose it.
Imagine what people will be thinking come November, with months more of national meltdown behind them? Would the GOP actually impeach Zhou without 60 Senators? TGP actually makes what I believe is a compelling case for doing so—I recommend reading it.
So, bottom line—Yes, there are obstacles to forcing Zhou to retire permanently to Delaware. It would be a desperation move by the Dems, but these are increasingly desperate times.
But the march to socialism continues. The pentagon is sponsoring Thomas Piketty https://inss.ndu.edu/Events/Event-View/Article/2870082/responding-to-china-the-case-for-global-justice-and-democratic-socialism/
TGP is wrong. Conviction in the Senate requires 2/3rd majority. 67 senators. Won't happen unless there are a bunch of D senators climbing on the impeachment train.
