It is laughable and deplorable to see these two microscopic statesmen, one with an Etonian smirk, the other a Gallic scowl, strutting and fretting their half-hour on the stage…the one responsible for his country’s agonizing departure from the European quagmire, and the other in a permanent pique over Putin’s out-manoeuvering him on every front - these two leading the charge!! They are indeed Eliot’s “Hollow Men:”

“Shape without form, shade without colour,

 Paralysed force, gesture without motion…”

Very (and pleasantly) surprised that Foreign Policy let that last piece on Israeli public opinion run. This, coupled with the broad coverage of the NPR editor's/reporter's expose yesterday, among other recent items, gives me some encouragement that we're steadily approaching the "they know that WE know" phase with media powers-that-be. Any let-up whatsoever in the torrent of patronizing BS is most welcome.

Maybe the penny is starting to drop with the MSM. They realise that unless they at least try and occasionally do their job, they are going to be sideswiped into oblivion by the alternative media. We shall see.

<<I'd be surprised if we're not already seeing a cleaving of US from British neocons, the latter being the ones that still cling to imperial fantasies and are banging the war drums.>>

Oh let's hope so! From what I can glean David Cameron was received with gritted-teeth civility and no more on his US jaunt, bizarre in some ways since he was there to big-up the £61bn narrative. Hateful moon-faced squirt.

As for "principles" I rather think that Valtersson meant "Rules-Based Order". But your version, Mark, summarises that 100%: "ideological constructs of a reality that doesn’t truly exist". The Neocons outline these principles so frequently, while keeping them vague and self-serving, as though they are convinced that ultimately the thoughts will take form. Generally, children grow out of having imaginary friends.
