Having switched out the candidate their voters selected, could the Dems go ahead and swap out the resident in the White House? That was the suggestion I made earlier—it seems like a long time ago, but it was actually just August 9th:
The speculative part comes at the end:
Why, after all these years of coverup—starting with Bluto Barr while he was still AG—is the Ruling Class dragging out stuff that we all thought was deep sixed for official purposes? Here’s where the speculation starts.
Recall that Pelosi is reported to have said, while Zhou and Doc Jill were still clinging to their second home in the White House, “We can do this the easy way or the hard way.” Zhou and Doc Jill continued digging their heels in. But then, somehow, there was a sudden breakthrough.
What if that was a sign that, since the easy way was obviously not going to work, the hard way was put into action. Now, the narrative is that the hard way may have been the 25th but, as we’ve discussed in the past, while that was a no-brainer (!) in terms of medical science, it was always problematic from a political standpoint. So …
What if the coup leaders told Zhou that impeachment and maybe prosecution were in play. For FARA violations, for influence peddling, etc. That would certainly explain Zhou and Jill’s quick about face, as well as their disappearance from public view. But maybe it doesn’t stop there. Maybe what the deal involved was Zhou giving up his second home in DC and leaving for Delaware permanently—right after the Dem convention. To give Kama Sutra the “gravitas” of the presidential trappings that she so manifestly lacks as a person. In this narrative, the point of the DoJ revelation would be as a reminder that, Hey, Zhou, we’re playin’ for keeps! Resign after the convention, or no pardon for you or anyone else in your family. That scenario fits in, if anything, even better with Zhou’s MIA status. And, of course, DoJ hasn’t obligated itself. They can always change their mind, or delay until the pardon’s come through. Or something.
We’re living in wacky times. Never say never.
I bring this up again because Doug Mackinnon—who served in the Reagan and GHWB White Houses—has raised this possibility:
Democrats still might invoke the 25th Amendment to make Harris president
I still maintain that the 25th remains politically problematic, and Mackinnon basically agrees. But …
Another growing possibility is that Biden simply walks away from the job. He must feel like he was hit by a freight train with all of his Democratic “friends” stabbing him in the back.
What happens if next week at the Democratic convention, Biden simply walks up to the podium, looks into the camera and declares: “I’ve had it. I’m done. I am resigning from my office and going back to Delaware.”
During this off-the-wall bizarre election cycle, I believe anything is not only possible, but likely.
OK, so why would the Dems do this? I suggested that it would be:
To give Kama Sutra the “gravitas” of the presidential trappings that she so manifestly lacks as a person.
Mackinnon’s reasoning is similar, but more extended:
… after the Democratic convention and after the campaign truly starts after Labor Day, Trump is going to slowly but continually pull ahead of Harris.
First, because as more Americans start to pay attention to the campaign, they will realize they were better off during the Trump administration. And secondly, because, as a friend of mine once said of a person he did not like, “A little bit of her goes a long way.”
Meaning in this case, the more people see of Harris — including her ducking the press and refusing to do unscripted press conferences — the less they will be drawn to her and her campaign. That is precisely what happened to Harris during the 2020 Democratic primary campaign, when she was the first candidate to drop out of the race.
This is already the most surreal presidential election of our lifetimes. I wrote several times in this space over the last two years that I never believed Biden would be the nominee, and I was proven right. I also honestly believe Trump will pull away from Harris come September and October.
So, what then? How would the Democrats and the Harris campaign react to that?
So the idea is that they can’t do another candidate swap after the convention, so then my reasoning would come into play. By making KS president they might be giving her the leg up she needs.
Not a prediction, but never say never.
Wow. Check out the look on the blond's face.

I recently found the following analysis compelling.

Just as we know people end up voting for the candidate they would like to sit down and have a beer with, we should know that there are a lot of people who are going to vote for the candidate they would like to go shoe shopping with.
Suppose Kamala fails to actually get out the shoe-shopping vote, here there and everywhere. They can still cheat as for Biden in 2020 to pull her sorry ass across the finish line and say she really did get out the shoe-shopping vote. And we will have no choice but to believe people really voted their shoe shopping preference... because there's no time to audit the votes between election day and certification day.
