That last comment by the LJ reader is trenchant indeed. "This whole idea of using threats and insecurity as the organizing principle in society was well understood by George Orwell who was close to Britain’s ruling establishment. In "1984" he wrote as follows:
'War, it will be seen, is now a purely internal affair. ... The war is waged by each ruling group against its own subjects, and the object of war is not to make or prevent conquest of territory, but to keep the structure of society intact.'"
That quote is from Alex Krainer's latest, which is well worth reading as a whole:
It is just a variation of the ever-more popular (in some circles) concept of "Anarcho-Tyranny," as described in this bio of the guy who conceptualized it:
You don't need Congress approval for a declaration of war when in fact you believe the "attack" is considered reasonable and expected. Why bother with formalities is what Congress is saying by not saying it.
With each passing day I grow more contemptuous of the Biden regime, the Democrats, the establishment Republicans, the Media poodles, well, you name it. In the immortal words of Jack Nicholson as the Joker, "This town needs an enema."
Is it wrong when I take delight when the schemes of wicked men fail?
I surely do take delight. I love the cluelessness. I've no use for Haley, David French, National Review, Kevin Williamson, William Kristol or Jonah Goldberg. George Will? Ha Ha Ha.
Like when Mr. Wauck cited "How does it feel?" by Bob Dylan. "you never turned around to see the frowns on the jugglers and the clowns when they did tricks for you."
I always knew that Barry and Michelle were frauds.
I used to think highly of that list of characters that I mentioned, Haley, French, et. al. It was kind of like finding out that there's no Santa Claus when I found out they suffer from TDS.
To use an old phrase they are "pushing the envelope" to see how far they can go and in each instance if there is no push back then they will push harder until there is no DOJ, no congress, no barriers and no opposition to their rule, wants and desires. That ushers in a dystopian totalitarian rule which portends world-wide suffering for the 99% who will have no voice.
Having learned a little bit about the rise of the Roman republic and its translation into Empire, and its final dissolution, they never did end the Senate, did they? It was transformed.
Everybody, high and low, continued to scramble for advantage with each adjustment of the rules by which the game of Roman Empire was played. So there will be a "DOJ" and a "House of Representatives" and a "Senate" and a "Supreme Court" while it is in the interest of our elites, coordinating with elites globally, to retain the forms of divided government in the US. We could last a long time, and I think most of the 99% will be none the wiser as we mainline entertainments in between scrambling for advantage with each rule adjustment. Covid was a test run and we failed to collectively say "no" to that big rule change. Too many of the 99% are focused entirely on scrambling for advantage with each rule adjustment.
Tamsin, they never formerly ended the senate and yes, transformed is a polite way of saying neutered. The rules changed because the dictators changed, civil wars altered some of the players but the Oligarchy remained the same and eventually we began calling them nobles and aristocrats which is what our DOJ, HoR, Senate, Supreme court justice believe themselves to be as do our outrageously rich elite. They stole from the poor then like they do today and taxes were paid by the popolo minuto and land was appropriated sort of like eminent domain today. That's what so frustrating about the demise this country is experiencing as we really thought we had the right formula for all to experience freedom, equality and the pursuit of happiness. Surprise!
Macron: “Allowing Russia to win means exposing yourself to the risk that the established rules of the international order will no longer be respected.”
Maria Zakharova: **“If Macron has a copy of the “rules” mentioned, please share.**
"As for victory, it does not depend on the “permission” of Macron or anyone else - Russia will do what it said.”
Earth to Macron: who was it that did not respect (comply with - a slight mistranslation ) the Minsk accords? And who knew the agreement was just for show, a distraction to buy time…this Davos midget has the gall to speak of playing by the rules? And he’s even gone so far as to annoint his successor! His equal in his hubris and stupidity!
The Deep State's actions against Trump are proof that maybe they are just stupid after all. Evil too, but with a lot of stupid in the mix. Let's see what their next move is.
Steg, they are not all that bright, but not stupid just malicious. They exhibit the cunning of a reviled knave who plots and plots without considering the consequences only to find they have miscalculated, again.
Especially, when their stupidity risks exposure. They're in it WAY too deep to simply say, "my bad." They will ride it out to the very end, however catastrophic it may be.

No use for Michelle & Barry I presume too.
I always knew that Barry and Michelle were frauds.

I imagine if the US Deep State takes the lead here then most of Europe will follow. Heck, you're pretty much describing Canada.

Speaking of "rules":
Macron: “Allowing Russia to win means exposing yourself to the risk that the established rules of the international order will no longer be respected.”
Maria Zakharova: **“If Macron has a copy of the “rules” mentioned, please share.**
"As for victory, it does not depend on the “permission” of Macron or anyone else - Russia will do what it said.”
World to Macron: "Russia has won. Get over it!"
Well played.

Stupid people can be a danger to themselves and others.
