Yesterday we were talking about Doubling Down On Stupid--Just Because, in the context of our major Blue metro crime wave. How dumb is stupid? It’s a bit like vaxxing into the face of a raging pandemic. Zhou is going to “pivot”—if that word can really describe his gait these days—to “police reform”. That will be at the same time that major Blue metro areas—now including NYC as well as Chicago, Philly, SF, and LA among others—are experiencing a pandemic of violent crime at the direction of Soros DAs. That’s supposed to distract the nation from Zhou’s failed regime? Well, that’s how dumb stupid is.
With that in mind, Jonathan Turley has a short but eye opening piece that describes just how bad the criminal justice situation is in just one major city—well, a used to be major city like many other Blue metro areas: Philly.
Exodus: Philadelphia Prosecutors Are Leaving Larry Krasner in Droves
There is an astonishing exodus afoot from the office of Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner, one of the prosecutors who took office on criminal reform platforms in recent years. Krasner has been criticized for his denial of any crime wave in the city despite other Democratic leaders complaining of the rising lawlessness (culminating this week with the carjacking of Rep. Mary Gay Scanlon at gunpoint ). The Philadelphia Inquirer reports Krasner’s office has lost 261 attorneys out of a staff of 340, including 70 prosecutors hired under his tenure. The office is described as in disarray with largely young, recent law school graduates carrying out the priorities and policies of Krasner.
Krasner drew criticism even from Democrats this month when he held a press conference to declare “We don’t have a crisis of lawlessness, we don’t have a crisis of crime, we don’t have a crisis of violence.” He later walked back those comments:
There has been a similar massive overhaul in other offices of other Soros-backed prosecutors, including over 50 prosecutors who resigned or were fired under San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin. Mayor London Breed recently called for a crackdown on crime but Boudin joined other leaders to denounce that effort for more policing as potentially abusive and counterproductive.
…
Vaxxing into a pandemic, spitting into the wind—choose your metaphor. Here’s Turley’s metaphor—well, it’s a simile—for the deliberate demolition of the criminal justice system that democratically elected Soros DA’s are bringing about, with their refusal to prosecute:
It is like a fire brigade passing buckets to put out a blaze only to have the last guy pour the water on the ground rather than the fire. Deterrence depends on both the threat of arrest and prosecution.
It’s all poison for Zhou’s insane “pivot” to “police reform”. Doubling down on the get out of jail free cards that are being issued willy nilly in so many major metro areas, while the citizenry boils with rage. That’s how dumb stupid is. Sadly, there really is no easy out, no happy ending. With the Dem school lockdowns in those same major metro areas a generation has been turned over to organized gang violence and general social collapse. Dems own this—as do the people who voted for the Soros DAs.
Michael Goodwin, in fine form, describes how dumb stupid is:

Then there is Virginia's newly elected Attorney General Jason Miyares. This from RedState yesterday: "But it’s his announcement that the state itself will prosecute crimes local DAs won’t that represents the largest shift in Virginia. That includes Democrat bastions like Richmond and Alexandria. Every single Republican AG across the nation should be doing the same thing; it’s the only way to fight back against the push to “reform” the criminal justice system, not in ways that make sense, but by simply not policing crime and hurting communities."
I don't think Brandon will be making that short trip across the Potomac to show how well his new
'police reforms' are working...
