My current hypothesis after reading a few commentaries:

1. Biden brain trust did not think Trump would accept an unfair debate on a biased network with used anchors and questions provided prior to Biden. As well as biased questions. Biden needed the bump from Trump declining the debate due to his polls.

2. Trump accepted shocking the Biden Brain trust.

3. New hope was trigger Trump and get under his skin by having moderators and Biden mentionhis convictions, crazy lady rape accusations, Stormy Daniels, Jan 6, convicted felon, ex President, etc by Biden and moderators. Goal was a repeat of Trumps first debate with Biden, x10.

The Biden brain trust exists in an echo chamber, and believed their own propaganda that Trump was a hot head with no self control. Trump would have the most epic melt down ever. What could go wrong?

4. Unbelievable Trump kept his cool under relentless attacks, and just grinned and bore it. He did not overreact, but stayed on message. Trump minimized attacks against Biden, making him appear Presidential. Biden on the other hand had a few glitches, while Trump kept his cool.

Ray, this is as good an explanation as I've seen. In retrospect, it almost looks desperate--since a bad performance would lead to exactly this result, making Zhou's fitness the big issue. The payoff would have been, if Trump had blown up and Zhou looked halfway normal they might have been able to get away with refusing another debate. Now it looks like a no win.

Octogenarian President Biden has difficulty functioning outside a six-hour window of daylight, according to an alarming new report. The 81-year-old commander in chief is prone to absent-minded gaffes and fatigue outside of the hours of 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. or while traveling abroad, White House aides told Axios in a bizarre attempt to spin his disastrous debate performance. During the 90-minute trainwreck of a presidential debate — which kicked off five hours after the president’s peak performance window, at 9 p.m. — Biden often appeared vacant or slack-jawed, and on several occasions froze mid-thought, misspoke, or struggled to form...

Excerpt from the email posted by HuffPost’s Yashar Ali:

“The bedwetting brigade is calling for Joe Biden to “drop out.” That is the best possible way for Donald Trump to win and us to lose.

First of all: Joe Biden is going to be the Democratic nominee, period. End of story. Voters voted. He won overwhelmingly. And if he were to drop out, it would lead to weeks of chaos, internal foodfighting, and a bunch of candidates who limp into a brutal floor fight at the convention, all while Donald Trump has time to speak to American voters uncontested.

All of that would be in service of a nominee who would go into a general election in the weakest possible position with zero dollars in their bank account. You want a highway to losing? It’s that.”

Interesting analysis. RFK jr having a place in Trumps Administration?

Yup - just hope the Dems don’t lasso RFK - cannot imagine he’d accept though, but then at this point…

I see no issue with fixing ballots in Georgia, Nevada and Wisconsin to get a Biden Replacement in these states, I hope I’m wrong…

Georgia - eGOP hates Trump. Sec of state is definitely anti Trump.

Wi - State Supreme Court now has leftist majority.

Nevada - gop gov, all other positions controlled by Dems including both houses.

If I read correctly has to do with election laws in GA, NV, and WI that basically make it very difficult to replace Zhou at this stage.

I'm interested to know why you think Mark Steyn is a neocon. He had a show for a spell on GB News that was so full of truth bombs regarding the vaccines and the UK government that it was killed off. He was very pro Ukraine to begin with but seemed to wake up somewhat last I read.

He's a very clever guy and right about many things. He also reliably parrots Zionist talking points--often in a clever and convincing sounding way. He's been doing that forever.

He’s a really good guy, but he’s anti-muslim from way back in 2006 (America Alone: The End of the World as We Know It.) I’m not sure that that makes him pro-war, but it might. Terrific on all other issues.

Steyn's view of Muslims is coloured by the Islamisation that is occurring in Europe and Britain. We do have a real problem here with radical Islam and Muslims who have no wish or ability to integrate. The most popular male baby name for the last 2 years in Britain is Mohammed. Steyn was the only journalist with a platform who exposed the industrial scale rape of white children by Muslim grooming gangs in Britain. I remember how pro Ukraine he was to begin with but he has changed his opinion. I am hopeful he will on Israel. I believe he still has the ability to think critically based on the information before him. I hope so anyway.

Yes, I agree. It’s a serious problem in Europe.

Well, the Dems are surely in a bind now. How they manipulate the system now to get out of the situation they are in now will be a matter of concern.

Btw. This the first time I saw Tracy's words. I guess a lot of people have made the same type of mental leap in logic.
