Arnaud Bertrand has an excellent summary on this, including some rather eye opening details regarding a little known US law. Could we be about to see a showdown between the Rule of Law and the Rule of … Rules? The Rule Based Imperial Order? Arnaud Bertrand
This article is flawed. The giveaway is that it states the U.S. is trying to help Israel. That is not at all what is being reported in Israel. Biden has secretly dropped all sanctions against the Court that Trump put in place. If Israel agrees to a Palestinian state and stops plans to invade Southern Gaza we will return the sanctions. The court cannot indict Israel without the U.S letting them. The problem is Biden has removed the sanctions so the U.S. is at risk as well. The pro-DNC media is trying to avoid saying Biden secretly dropped the Trump sanctions.
ICC can't act against Israel without US backing — Israeli official
“Where is [US President Joe] Biden? Why is he quiet while Israel will potentially be thrown under the bus?” the source said.
Newsflash: The JPost isn't the only media source in Israel, nor is it particularly reliable. For example Caroline Glick recently had to eat her words publicly. What's going on here is almost certainly an attempt to gin up outrage to keep the pressure the Zhou regime. The idea that this US regime is throwing Israel under the bus is idiotic. The effort to come up with a solution that will take domestic pressure off Zhou is multi dimensional, but one of those dimensions is to get Israel off the hook for their disastrous military performance.
For a minute there I considered perhaps voting for the Zhou regime this fall. And I guess that is one of the purposes of stories like these--to make people feel more comfortable voting for them. Thx for this reality check.
"For instance starting in 2019 the US implemented sanctions and travel restrictions against ICC employees engaged in investigating potential allied war crimes in Afghanistan." Other reasons for removing the teeth of the paper ICC tiger included sniffing around Ukraine conflict post Maiden.
Unless I am mistaken, Jack Smith (? the lawyer who is responsible for much of the law-fare against president Trump) has practiced international law and is introducing the strategies to this country. It seems to be quite different from US law.
Personally, I want nothing to do with the international courts or any sort of global authority.
You're not mistaken. I've read unflattering accounts of his int'l shenanigans. I agree in general re these int'l courts and global authorities which appear to be responsive to political pressure. Nevertheless, I welcome int'l scrutiny when it's due and being blocked by our own Deep Staters.
Thanks, ML! It is very nice to be back here after a short hiatus. I'm looking forward to more of your always cogent and informative and perspicacious postings!

Jack Smith is a product of the Lawfare org's around DC and influence Garland and Monaco. He's their lap dog.
I hope they cleaned out Slobodan Milosevic's cell. Might be getting a new occupant.
Isn't that a museum now? If not, should be.
Highly doubtful... but a nice thought!
Can always count on you 3 for some much needed (and informed) levity! Cheers!
