They speak of upholding democracy and the rule of law while they hold political prisoners in jail cells in DC. Prisoners who are, apparently, being tortured and having their Rights violated--Rights, inviolable, clearly enumerated in the Constitution. And, yet here we are. "C'mon man, we are better than this."
And, thank you Joe Biden for reminding me, although I really didn't need to be reminded, of my oath -- that I have taken several times -- to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and DO-MEST-IC [Joe Biden's emphasis from this morning's rambling].
I remain vigilant, preparing for the conflagration that increasingly appears likely to ensue from this attack through their nonsense at some point in the future.
In the meantime, i suggest we all Get Local. In our neighborhoods and towns. Start a book club or bible study or discussion group for the express purpose of connecting with and establishing trust w as many locals as possible. We will need those relationships in the days to come and they cant be based on digital crap like Fb or twit etc... Old fashioned face to face comms.
No, Ted Cruz isn't the Republican Party. But where are those who are fighting the "violent terrorism" narrative? Chirp, chirp, chirp. Face it: there is the Warroom/MAGA posse and there is the rest of the GOP. The number of Republicans that I would retain in congress just diminished by one (to approximately 20--and that's a stretch). At this point, it's not even clear that Trump belongs in the MAGA movement any more.
Yes, increasingly it seems to be a mistake that Trump didn't take the opportunity to start a new political party and bring along the MAGA crowd. It likely would've ended the GOP in the same way the GOP ended the Whig party. Now the window has closed until someone else can take Trump's place. We will get another crop of 2017 weasels and wimps and traitors sent to DC in 2023 and they will keep the illusion of elections going.
In the meantime, i wish the Democrats would go ahead and carry out the threat. Go all the way! Ban Republicans from running, take over elections entirely, prosecute Republicans for J6. Crash the dollar. Get it over with already. This slow roasting over an open fire is unbearable. I'd much rather see this brought to a head now when there is still something of the country worth fighting for than 2 or 3 years from now when the Criminal Cartel has looted and plundered absolutely everything, burned everything down, salted the earth, and murdered everyone we care about.
That's kind of what I was thinking too... go ahead, play that card, disqualify a bunch of do-nothing RINOs. They may well be replaced by some fresh candidates who are more eager to leave a mark. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
As a result of Sen. Cruz being born in Canada to one American parent, he will never be eligible to hold the offices of President or VP. One must be a "natural born citizen" of the USA, which Cruz is not. See: Law of Nations by Vattel, the founders used the definition found in that text when writing our Constitution. Quiz question: who else isn't a natural born citizen?
I've never been a Cruz supporter. I assume that this latest was his way of assuring the DC establishment that he can be a good player and so deserves to be president. That won't win him the nomination.
Me neither - mainly because he was unqualified to run for President and he knew it. I agree: I see this as him moving to establish credibility as a Presidential candidate in the eyes of the establishment donors - who all hate Trump above all else. Maybe it was now or never for him and who knows under what pressure. Did he just become the establishment favorite? Liz for VP? Haha. Or maybe they just wanted him out of the way and so lied to him to get him to commit political suicide.
Ted should have known that money and backing and ads cannot buy popularity and a nomination (ask Jeb or Li'l Marco) - especially for someone who has unveiled their fraudulence.
Yeah, I just watched it. I don't buy it - Tucker was absolutely right in that Cruz knows what he says and the implications. Trained his whole life in the importance of words. If he made such an egregious error open to such misunderstanding maybe he isn't who we want as President anyway?

Or he thinks by saying that he will avoid disqualification, and sideline Nikki Haley as the Establishment Candidate?

Seems he didn't think this through. Apparently he was on Tucker tonight trying to add a bit of "nuance".
