Yemen Military
If Israel does not stop its aggression against Gaza, our airstrikes on Ben Gurion Airport and other targets within Israel will continue.
If our strikes continue for two weeks on Ben Gurion Airport, it could face paralysis, with 90% of air traffic at risk, forcing airlines to choose between "risking the lives of passengers" or "suspending flights."

Exclusive: Houthi arsenal shocks the Pentagon's top weapons buyer
Yup, and, again, just like Trump 1.0, still refusing to take the counsel of those who appear to have his back. Particularly, with Susie Wiles joining Vance on this, his inability to listen remains undefeated.
I'm surprised we haven't heard more of the jeopardy that those whom the neocons most need to take out, Gabbard and Ratcliffe, have placed themselves in. Their sworn Congressional testimony right after the first installment of "the leak" fell into a seemingly well-placed perjury trap right as the remaining details were about to drop. What was later revealed falls squarely into ODNI's own Top Secret classification guidelines. I'd be willing to bet that there'd be sufficient "principled conservative" outrage on the Hill to turn on them...again, "on principle."
The quiet on this is a little unnerving--almost if planned all along and about to be sprung.
The only logical response to this disaster would have been to (i) acknowledge immediately that "mistakes were made" (my favorite DC-ism), (ii) promise that accountability would be coming (great opportunity to fire Waltz (and, possibly Hegseth, as the main "discloser" here)--they both looked like complete jackasses anyway, thus, reducing MAGA outrage somewhat on their removal) and (iii) assuring that changes would be coming to IC communications policies and practices. The last item would allow the Admin to repeat the half-truth that Signal was authorized for use per standing government policy (it was, generally, but probably not for this level of communication).
In doing so, the Admin could then turn the focus toward how in the world the last person on the planet you'd want as a fly on the wall got on the chain. 100% non-accidental breach warranting a full investigation. Attention shifts to that.
That said, there are powerful forces at work having no curiosity whatsoever as to how JG was inserted into this mix.
1. Trump needs Israeli / AIPAC support right now politically. Trump is avoiding fights with Israel.
2. Bibi is using conflicts to stay in power.
3. Yemen for Trump is more about world trade, and not Israel.
4. Waltz was a required appointment by the Intel community, to balance other Trump appointments. Waltz’s Venmo seems to include lots of press supposedly, so I wonder if he’s another John McCain? Something strange, but I don’t know enough about of him to know what.
“Trump needs Israeli / AIPAC support right now politically. Trump is avoiding fights with Israel.” Explains why Trump hasn’t relieved Mr. Walz of his duties? self-preservation?
Let’s play a hypothetical here. What would get us into a war with Iran? What if Netanyahu was assassinated and it was blamed on Iran? Would that touch off a Middle East war that Trump would get us into?
History replays itself over and over. We could look at World War I for a little guidance here.. archduke Ferdinand gets assassinated and set off a fuse that can’t be stopped. I would say the same could happen here. All is gonna take the light that fuse is something like that.
I’m surprised with all the Israeli assassinations of top Hamas, Herzbolla leadership, etc there has been no retaliatory assassinations of top Israelis.
The one assassin that succeeded with Yitzhak Rabin, was a Jewish extremist.
My gut feeling is Putin, car just blew up, and Trump, 2 assassination attempts so far, are more at risk.
I have a vague recollection that there was one, that the attack on the military dining hall by Hezbollah was targeted at a specific Israeli general. But that's the only one that comes to mind.
Love your work Mark, my favourite daily read! My theory six months ago was that Israel was manoeuvring to eventually claim justification in nuking Iran. Now I think it appears that they are manipulating Trump into doing so via an embarrassing conventional escalation, which his Zionist team is telling him will be a slam dunk. On form either way.
Interesting--if true. Which I hope it is. He's a toxic presence, as bad as Bolton and Pompeo, if less well known. If the Lobby allows Trump to fire him you have to ask, What the hell was Trump thinking when he appointed him? We all knew he was bad news:
As a former House Intel Committee member, Mike Waltz comes from inside the IC machinery and there is a lot more to be concerned about than there is to be optimistic about.
Waltz has publicly said, engaged with, and acted upon, National Security Information (NSI) products, intelligence information, that is demonstrably false and fraudulent.
"We all knew he was bad news." Yes. I wonder who advised Trump to hire him. He wasn't subject to a Senate confirmation vote so that couldn't have had anything to do with it. Whatever the case, the sooner he is gone the better.
There seem to be massive and increasing tensions within Israel. Looks like Trump and Bibi have boxed themselves in to a zero-sum game. That's what makes it doubly dangerous. Netanyahu is now in the same situation as Zelensky: he has to drag the whole world into a potentially global war in order to save his miserable hide.
I just don't get Trump's submissive relationship with his Jewish handlers and Israel. The vast majority of American and Israeli Jews dislike the guy, in America it's actually hatred. They will do everything in their power to bring him and this country down. These are the people who are reaping the benefits of all that government money that flows through the corruption channels. Why would he forsake his true base, not the nut case Christian Zionists, but the Conservatives, moderates, and independents who lean right. They are the people who really make this country go.
Andrei Martyanov has a different view.. According to him, the Russians are done once and for all with Western Europeans. He says it is like a family who'd find it hard to accommodate a drug-addict relative. Personally, I doubt the Russians will ever forget the sacrifices they've made to deal with US/West-supported Ukraine neo-Nazis..

Vance asked Trump to fire Waltz – Politico
Trump 2.0 just like Trump 1.0. He picked a guy everyone knew would betray him and now he has a backstabber in his midst.

The "Hillary did it, too" "defense" doesn't really cut it. For multiple reasons.
Exactly--that and the botched Kabul withdrawal is all I am hearing from the Right. Weak sauce in this scenario.

a bunch of it appears not true or misunderstood eg: no sharia courts but sharia councils

5. Trump has no intention of getting into a war with Iran, for that would doom his domestic agenda.
Interesting, Ray.
“Trump needs Israeli / AIPAC support right now politically. Trump is avoiding fights with Israel.” Explains why Trump hasn’t relieved Mr. Walz of his duties? self-preservation?
It’s not politically advantageous at this time.
If Trump relieves Walz of his duties now, it would be seen as a win for the Democrats. And increase the conflict with the factions that back Walz.
Yup
Fear of the press.
Let’s play a hypothetical here. What would get us into a war with Iran? What if Netanyahu was assassinated and it was blamed on Iran? Would that touch off a Middle East war that Trump would get us into?

There's a big gap between then and now.. Nuclear weapons are a deciding factor when it comes to a worldwide conflict..
I’m surprised with all the Israeli assassinations of top Hamas, Herzbolla leadership, etc there has been no retaliatory assassinations of top Israelis.

Obviously nobody would make such a wild accusation against Iran without ironclad proof. /sarc
Man, Ray: I hope you are right! This situation brings a whole new dimension to the old phrase, “playing with fire”.
Given Israel’s close relationship with Azerbaijan it wouldn’t be surprising if it was used as a staging point for drone attacks to blind Iran.
Russia is treaty bound to respond and Turkey is treaty bound to protect Azerbaijan.
Looks like a stack of dominoes ready to tip over.

Wasn't he also Congressional Rep from FL whose seat is now up for grabs? Along with Mart Gaetz?
Yes
What a waste of a Red Congresional seat🙄
The Anglo-American-Zionist Empire....Sayanora, baby!
It's beginning to look like that more and more.
There seem to be massive and increasing tensions within Israel. Looks like Trump and Bibi have boxed themselves in to a zero-sum game. That's what makes it doubly dangerous. How much influence does Netanyahu have in the American Jewish influence machine?
My guess is anyone who is the Israeli prime minister has huge influence.
High influence/ control:
- bots
- blackmail
- wetwork
- espionage
- wire tapping/ internet surveillance
No idea:
- aipac
- Jewish defense league
- anti Semitism accusations from Jewish religious leaders
- holocaust denial accusations
- lawfare - what happened to that uk historian that destroyed his career for example
- rent a mobs
I’m sure there are more, and a lot of it’s astroturfing.
Very well said. Perilous times.
Also Kharkov. I heard someone yesterday, forget who now, it all gets blurry, Kiev as well.
not sure if you saw the redent NY Times article
some of the claims are a possibly a bit exxagerated
" by U.S. counts, have killed or wounded more than 700,000 Russian soldiers. (Ukraine has put its casualty toll at 435,000.) "
but it lays bare some of the US direct involvement
Not sure if the NY Times did this intentionally to try to give
Putin another reason to break off an ceasefire discussions, but possible

you have to scroll down a bit to get to the article
I linked to archive today but if you scroll down the article starts

I've been reading it this morning. It is important, but you rightly characterize it as "journalism" rather than as journalism. A Neocon "narrative".
