Wasn't aware until this post Israel was planning to open a Southern front soon. Hhhhmm... Since it appears Turkey, Qatar, amongst others funding Hamas wouldn't it also be true US/EU continues to fund Israel a.k.a. propping up their economy in some manner?
Interesting, but the numbers of displaced people along with the reserves called up and people out of work because loss of tourism are all pretty daunting. That's all a lot of dislocation that the WSJ and The Economist are describing.
Sounds like Hamas, Herzbolla, and Iran are focusing on indirect attacks that increase economic and diplomatic costs for Israel.
A few missiles from Lebanon to keep the North evacuated, and kill tourism.
Seize an Israeli merchant in the Red Sea to increase insurance costs.
Force continued mobilization in Israel for more economic costs.
Publicize damage, real or fake, in Gaza to increase the diplomatic costs.
And Iranian proxies keep attacking U.S. forces in the area including bases in Syria and Iraq, and then can complain of the violation of sovereignty when the U.S. retaliates.
No, it's just you questioning the reporting of The WSJ and The Economist--two extremely pro-Israel publications that have excellent official sources. Mearsheimer presents their reporting.

Like, sending people to fill up the hotels, teachers to replace the ones called up, work in businesses, etc.?
Seems some intent in that direction.

Agreed. However media (as you know) doesn’t always portray both sides. Go figure.

They're like Putin: they play the long game. Meanwhile with us, it's always short-term thinking.
