Browsing the news every day is a depressing business, so let’s start today with a tweet by Tom Luongo, because it suggests that Americans may have a friend in a high place—the Fed. For laughs I’ve included a comment exchange:
Tom Luongo (Head Sneetch) @TFL1728
So, kudos to Chairman Powell for walking into the @CBSNews lion's den and delivering the right message on interest rates. And as much as I appreciated his comments on fiscal policy that aired... what was cut was even more telling.
maneco64 @maneco1964
Powell should have said that the Fed has been enabling this borrowing from the future via its reckless policy of supporting the Treasury by buying trillions of its paper since 2008. He should have said too that they will never do that (QE) again.
Tom Luongo (Head Sneetch) @TFL1728
He has said this many times. You just weren't listening.
That’s Powell saying that all the damage done to the country will be on the politicians, not him. That’s all he can do. Does he have the backing of Big Money, or elements of Big Money? You have to presume that he does, but do they control politics any longer?
So much for friends. That tweet followed this jaw dropper:
Tom Luongo (Head Sneetch) @TFL1728
Germany and the EU have decided to commit suicide. Nuland shows up in Kiev, Zelenskyy is saved, the Neocons running Germany cut a deal to 'frighten' Putin.
Germany's gov't will not survive this.
Germany to sign security pact with Ukraine this month – media
6:24 AM · Feb 5, 2024
And meanwhile the wacko von der Leyen woman is blaming the farmer protests across Europe on … Putin? Yep. Russia Hoax much? From the article:
Germany and Ukraine may seal a security cooperation agreement at the Munich Security Conference, which will take place from February 16-18, the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung has reported. The German newspaper claimed that Berlin and Kiev had already drafted the deal.
The UK became the first nation to sign a bilateral security agreement with Ukraine on January 12, under which the two nations pledge to defend each other if attacked. Last month, French President Emmanuel Macron revealed plans to follow suit in February.
In its article on Friday, the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, citing anonymous “government circles,” claimed the pact would be signed on the first day of the upcoming summit. The newspaper quoted Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic integration, Olga Stefanishyna, as saying that a Ukrainian delegation had worked out a “draft for an agreement on bilateral security guarantees” the previous day. She added that the text was “not decided on, but generally ready.”
Does no one in Germany remember the last time the Anglosphere conned the Reich into going to war with Russia? Officially, Russia belittles all this—as well they might, based on the Lilliputian nature of NATO armed forces. But this does call to mind other recent events that Russia is undoubtedly watching closely:
US to station nuclear weapons in UK to counter threat from Russia
Warheads to be housed at RAF Lakenheath for first time in 15 years, Pentagon documents reveal, as Moscow warns of 'escalation'
The US removed nuclear missiles from the UK in 2008, judging that the Cold War threat from Moscow had diminished.
The disclosure comes in the wake of warnings that Nato countries need to ready their citizens for war with Russia.
Last week, Adml Rob Bauer, a senior Nato military official, said that private citizens should prepare for all-out war with Russia in the next 20 years that would require wholesale change in their lives.
How many subject Americans—remember when we used to be free citizens?—do you think are even aware of what our Neocon masters are up to? Did we hear even a peep about this from our bought and paid for “Reps”, a question raised in that greatest of debating societies and its Senatorial class? Oh, did you hear the one about Norway surrendering sovereignty over 12 “dedicated areas” to the US military? No punchline—unless you consider the designation “dedicated areas” rather than “bases” to a laugh line.
Well, Megatron is all over these stories:
Mainstream media and politicians in Europe are already openly talking and pushing for war with Russia.

Over $1 Billion In Weapons Missing In Ukraine
The US Department of Defense has failed to properly track $1 billion worth of weapons provided to Ukraine, according to an internal audit released on Jan. 10 by the DOD Inspector General.
Hmmm. Check the Middle East, guys.

Both are part of the ruling left-green-liberal government. They destroyed Germany, and made it a total vassal of the United States instead of a leader in Europe.

Regarding the economic insanity coming out of Europe, we can turn to Tom Luongo again. Yellen is feeding the craziness, but Powell’s backers aren’t going down the drain with the Germans and the other Euros (follow this link on that point):
To my point about the difference between the US and Europe... we produce 13 million bbls/oil per day. We have to flare off the nat gas we produce
We have enough coal to last us 600 years. Oh, and then there's Canada and Mexico. US banks have collateral. What they won't have, to Alex's point, is the ability or the need to protect their collateral at home by colonizing abroad.
But what’s up with all this war mongering, when they all know Ukraine has lost? According to M. K. Bhadrakumar, Nuland leaves sense of foreboding in Kiev, the new Neocon strategy is very much an extension of the war along the lines we’ve been discussing lately. MKB cites an impeccable Neocon source for this latest on the “surprises” Nuland promised in Kiev. She still believes that Russia can be dealt such a defeat on the battlefield that Putin can be ousted:
This is an escalation spiral as Russia’s election approaches.
Indeed, all indications are that the US strategy through this year is to ‘hold, build and strike’ at Russia, as outlined in an article in the War on the Rocks co-authored by Michael Kofman, a leading American military analyst and the director of the Russia Studies Program at the Center for a New American Security. Basically, the strategy is predicated on the premise that Russia is still far from its official goal of seizing the entire Donbas and therefore, what happens in 2024 is likely to determine the future trajectory of the war.
Kofman identified three elements as crucial:
one, a well- fortified frontline in Ukraine which stalls Russian offensives;
two, pressing ahead with reconstituting the battered Ukrainian military; and,
three, most important, degrading the Russian advantages and “creating challenges for Russian forces far behind the front lines”, while doubling down on rebuilding capacity to resume offensive operations.
In a nutshell, the strategy is to reach a level of capability where Ukraine can absorb Russian offensives while minimising casualties and positioning itself to retake the advantage over time.
Russia is unlikely to remain passive without a counter-strategy. In fact, there is a perceptible acceleration of Russian operations lately.
Yeah, this is nuts. We can see the increased Russian tempo of operations—and it goes back further than just the last few weeks. Ukraine’s military won’t be reconstituted, not with so much being siphoned off to the Middle East and Russian deep strikes increasing. Deep strikes into Russia will remain pin pricks, but will harden Russian hearts to dismantling what remains of Ukraine. But it will also harden Russian hearts to whatever actions they feel are necessary with regard to the West.
Which brings us to Danny Davis’ fine morning monologue. I’ve transcribed just the intro—the rest is about a half an hour:
Having a Lust For War--it's the American Way, right? Wait, hang on—what? Having a Lust For War is not supposed to be the characteristic American trait. But if we're being honest ... this is a growing ugly truth that's starting to more and more characterize our country in ways that I'm very uncomfortable with. And I know many of you are, as well.
We're going ...do a deep dive into just why this is, and especially when it comes to Iran. What in the world is it that's driving so many of our senior leaders to just be something close to obsessed with attacking Iran? I'm going to show you some of these clips to to illustrate what we're talking about here, and then I'm going to lay out some facts for you to where you can see that these guys are nuts. If we and if Biden listens to them, if he gives into this pressure, we're all going to pay a serious price for this one of these days. We've already paid one price, but I'm telling you folks it can get a lot worse for America.
Not directly related to this post, but most definitely indirectly in further documenting Republican complicity in the destruction of the country, Redstate is reporting that the attempt to impeach Myorkas failed to pass when 4 Republicans voted no! The border is a wide open disaster which Myorkas has facilitated at every turn and 3 Republicans decided that there just wasn’t enough evidence to support the charges. Damn, damn, damn, damn!! I am so fed up with these feckless and gutless pieces of crap actively aiding and abetting the undermining of this country.
You are correct, the stupidity of our "Leadership" is depressing..
