The most obvious political fallout from the attempt of the American Ruling Class to “eliminate Trump” from political life—which achieved its most extreme point in the attempted assassination of Trump—is the end of the attempt to swap out Zhou from the Dem campaign. As discussed briefly last night, it appears that no potential Dem replacement candidate is eager to take on Trump. There’s no point in even listing the reasons. The picture tells the story:
The current “wisdom” among Dem consultants is to just let Zhou’s campaign continue to implode, now that that campaign’s one “issue”, the central theme—Trump = literally Hitler—has been effectively neutered. To continue down that road would appear obscene to most of the nation. The “wisdom” is to concentrate on retaining the Senate and winning the House. However, that “wisdom” appears dubious. How many big donors will want to sink big bucks into down ticket races if the top of the ticket implodes? The consensus consultant view is that the Senate battlefield is a minefield for the Dems this election, to begin with. Big money donors will not want to sink their money into losing causes. With Trump leading in most swing states, the temptation for big donors will be to save their money for the future. This could end up being a big factor. Still lots of time to go, but that’s how it’s looking at this point. More on the money front later.
Next up, we have a big breaking legal story, but I would contend that it’s political as well:
Trump Classified Docs Case Dismissed, Judge Finds Special Counsel Appointment Unconstitutional
US District Court Judge Eileen Cannon has dismissed Donald Trump's classified documents case, ruling that the appointment of Special Counsel Jack Smith was unconstitutional.

"The Special Counsel’s position effectively usurps that important legislative authority, transferring it to a Head of Department, and in the process threatening the structural liberty inherent in the separation of powers," Cannon wrote in her decision. "He can be appointed and confirmed through the default method prescribed in the Appointments Clause, as Congress has directed for United States Attorneys throughout American history."
There’s lots more at the link, but this is all that really matters. For most of the public—certainly for the entire leaning-Trump public—this translates into confirmation that the lawfare campaign against Trump has been a witchhunt all along. In addition to being the obviously correct decision, it paints the Dems as witchhunters—not a good look in America—who are willing to take unconstitutional steps to get their target. To my mind, this lends authority to the perception of systematic unfairness and even illegality in the persecution of Trump and his supporters—be it the Russia Hoax, the Hoax Impeachments, the J6 Insurrection Hoax, or the Classified Docs Hoax. Oh, did I forget the 2020 Election Hoax? No, I didn’t. It’s all a package deal.
Here’s a clear sign of Dem panic, to go with what we covered regarding the views of Dem consultants:
MSNBC yanks anti-Trump 'Morning Joe' off air following assassination attempt
MSNBC's flagship morning show will return to air on Tuesday
According to a CNN report, a person familiar with the decision said it was made in part over fear that one of the show's many guests over a 4-hour broadcast "might make an inappropriate comment on live television that could be used to assail the program and network as a whole."
A very real fear, because these wackos can’t keep their obsessive hatred to themselves.
I probably should have mentioned this in the main article. Justice Clarence Thomas has pointed out this issue--the unconstitutional appointment--at least twice in SCOTUS opinions.
Three black trucks with United States government plates were spotted at the home of Ohio Senator and rumored vice presidential candidate JD Vance on Saturday. [cut] Vance, a big favorite with Trump's MAGA base, saw the extra protection at his house following the assassination attempt on Trump that the former president miraculously survived, with Vance blaming Joe Biden for the rhetoric leading to it. Some speculated on social media upon noticing the black trucks that they might be Secret Service agents, leading many to wonder if Vance had officially won the veepstakes. Trump is expected to make the announcement at...
