Well, two steps forward toward decriminalizing drugs, one step back to fix an unintended consequence that is raining on the parade... I highly recommend this report by Lehman at City Journal, and the comments:

https://www.city-journal.org/article/this-is-your-city-on-fentanyl

Of course, it had to be written by someone from out of state and so without local equities to protect. The prior City Journal piece by Totten pulled all its punches.

Something to try and be pro-actively ready for regarding the 2024 election: a strategy in which the Dems lose, and suddenly embrace and drive all manner of election fraud challenges. If Uniparty corruptocrats go along (easy-peasey), we could see a royal (pardon the mixed metaphor) constitutional crisis as DAs and Attorneys General and Judges and Secretaries of State and Governors suddenly find there *is* standing to bring challenges and not certify results. I could even see the turtle of the SCOTUS, Chief Justice John Roberts, finally stick his neck out and agree there is something to see here - via remand to a lower court. Could tie things up until mid-terms, no?

And those calling for Republicans to ballot harvest should be very cautious - where explicitly illegal (oh heck, does that even matter anymore?), expect our two-tiered JustUs system to once again hammer asymmetrically. Would be pleased if the lawyers in our MiH community would give feedback on this notion.

I've written in the past that Roberts appears to want to empower the states to handle most of this stuff--which makes sense from a federalist point of view. The real problem arises from the fact that the framers of the Constitution really didn't envision the party system. When you have one party states that conspire to rig elections you get into constitutional issues. Sooner or later those seem to me to be unavoidable. Putting the decisions off seems bad policy.

They need a body count to report on each evening. Without it, no one will care. Whatever secondary plans, perhaps declaring martial law or a 'climate emergency,' that are on their list of options will smack of desperation. Right now, it isn't looking good for the regime as fuel prices continue to rise which adds cost to everything hauled by trucks, fueling inflation. Interest rates continue to climb. Their righteous Ukraine war is fizzling out. The Big Guy keeps talking gibberish or telling his narcissistic tales from the crypt to any audience that isn't booing him. They've got us right where they want us...

They need one of those counters on the news screen like they had for covid cases and death, etc and every other tragedy when they want to scare everyone. They could track every smash and grab by category: mall, convenience store town, number killed or just shot. Number of car windows broken every day. Just imagine all the useless information they could provide the public. No one would ever turn off their TVs. No one would leave home they’d be so scared. The criminals would own the city. Along with the politicians

After reading the link, it looks like the 30-50 masked thieves robbed an LA area Nordstrom’s, several days prior to the dozen or so masked thieves who struck the Macy’s.

Also, I thought we didn’t trust polls. Or does that only apply to polls for political candidates?

The smash and grabs I heard about in la county:

Nike outlet in east la

Macy in Sherman oaks - mall

Nordstrom in canoga park - mall

Macy in Arcadia - mall

Nordstrom outlet in riverside ca

Yves Saint Laurent in Glendale mall

Kay Jewelers (2022) in Brea mall (actually oc). My daughter was in mall so I heard about it.

And the person dragging a 75 year old for their purse in hacienda heights.

And lots of car windows being broken in my areas, Amazon thefts, and catalytic converters.

Wonder if the smash and grabbers understand that what they’re doing may have positive results for conservatives.

So many of these brazen mob-swarming robberies, one can’t even keep them straight! Thanks for that updated list, Ray.

You are welcome.

Many of them are in locations I know really well. One is in a mall near where I grew up, and I remember it being built. They longest distance is 70 miles between locations, so it’s not just one local area this is happening. And many of those areas are rich suburbs. The list is places I know, I think it’s worse. A 7-11 got flash mobbed in Compton for example.

I was at an Aldi’s, and a guy just walked out with some food. And the employee response was just acceptance. It was surreal.

For the Glendale robbery I read they caught one guy, and due to the no bail policy, he was out the same day.

"mobbery" is the new term.

I emailed some of the store managers in our area that I won't be buying anything from them if they keep tolerating all this theft. Those of us paying are subsidizing the criminals, I think.

No, 400 miles away in San Francisco in Northern California. They also had a flash mob.

The ones I mentioned are in Los Angeles County.

Similar root causes, but San Francisco is worse.

Root causes:

1. Soros backed district attorneys in la, alameda (Oakland), and sf counties.

2. No bail - I can’t remember why.

3. Decriminalization of thefts under $950 due to ballot initiative backed by Soros and Newsom.

4. Decriminalized non violent crimes - another ballot initiative. Including rape.

5. Emptying of prisons due to Covid.

6. Low morale in police forces due to fear of being charged. Result is people leave, and those left do the minimum. Plus hiring is low. Lapd is at its lowest numbers in a long time.

7. La times is very anti police.

I, too, tend to believe most of the fraud was done the old fashioned way--but with help from modern databases, etc.

Absolutely. I give credit to DeSantis for looking at the science and pivoting accordingly. The worry early on, at least on my part, was that this was an actual bioweapon on the loose. I can understand the concern. My problems with DeSantis have nothing to do with his Covid policies. My concern is with his catering to the Deep State on foreign policy.
