Mary Kenny @MaryKenny4

The almost universal response to Marine Le Pen’s electoral victory has been “How can the National Rally be stopped?” Shouldn’t the question be asked: “What are the voters trying to tell us, through the due process of democracy?”

Maybe it is the money. The Democrats expected to have an overwhelming cash advantage, which would help them get a literal corpse over the finish line. But then the NY verdict blew up their thinking and almost overnight Trump has more money than them. No problem think the Dems, we'll go back to our big donors to top up, but big donors don't want to pay for a corpse to be President.

I don't see how they can just walk away from all that money. They may not want that, but she's got them over a barrel. Very puzzling, as it doesn't seem to have been thought through. Maybe they thought they could buy her off. OTOH, she can probably get rich off a book deal if she loses.

I think a telling question is who will "they" install as her VP? The one ready to pick up the baton if need be🤔
