Election Fraud Matters

The Gateway Pundit seems to be taking the lead in publicizing the discovery—based on events in Michigan back in 2020—of what looks like a multi-state (at least 20 states) election fraud operation. Briefly, this operation involves “voter registration outreach” to register large numbers of ineligible voters. This operation appears to be very well funded with strong ties to both a variety of Left activist groups as well as to the Dem party establishment itself. You can get the details of what was goin on in Michigan at a TGP post today, which updates the original findings:

The initial discovery of what looked like fraudulent activity (one individual submitting thousands of voter registration forms of suspicious origin) was noted by the city clerk in Muskegon, MI. The city clerk acted on her suspicions and reported the suspicious activity to the appropriate Michigan state authorities. Eventually the results of investigation by the Michigan State Police were turned over to the FBI. End of story, so far.

Here’s an excerpt from today’s post at TGP, which will provide an idea of the scope of this operation—which it’s totally reasonable to believe is only one of at least several such operations nationwide:

On Wednesday, The Gateway Pundit followed up the report with information on the head of GBI Strategies. 

GBI Strategies LLC is a left-wing campaign consulting company run by Gary Bell with a mailing address in Alexandria, Virginia.  A quick online search also shows that GBI Strategies, LLC is located in Tennessee.  Gary Bell has a limited presence online.  He keeps a low profile despite his impressive resume.

According to Compmo Group Gary Bell manages over 70 “organizing operations” in 20 states and lends logistical and consulting support to another 7 states.”  Bell also has links to a wide variety of far-left political groups, including the DSCC, DNC, Black PAC, IBEW and SEIU to name a few.

A query done by The Gateway Pundit confirms that FEC filings show far-left Black PAC organizations paid GBI Strategies $11,254,919 in 2020.

$11 million dollars ain’t chicken feed. Well, as CTH is fond of saying, there are trillions at stake. Even so, one supposes that the people paying GBI expect value for their money.

This looks like it could represent a real breakthrough in conservative efforts to document widespread election fraud. There’s plenty of work going on in this effort, much of it statistically based, but putting faces to the fraud is really important when it comes to drawing attention to the problem.

This week I also saw an update on a Judicial Watch lawsuit that hit closer to home. Here’s the bottom line results from JW’s successful effort to force the state of Illinois to disclose voter registration information, as required by federal law. The results illustrate, on the one hand, that purging voter registration rolls as a means of stopping vote fraud has real limits, but on the other hand also shows the possibilities that could flow from continued digging:

14% of Illinois Counties Have More Voters Than Citizens of Legal Voting Age

CV NEWS FEED // There are more registered voters than citizens of legal voting age in several Illinois counties, a government watchdog group just found.

On August 6, Judicial Watch, a conservative organization that promotes integrity in government affairs, released the results of a study of voter records which found that 14% of Illinois’ counties have more voters than citizens of legal voting age. In addition, the entire state has close to 800,000 inactive voters still registered, indicating that the counties are failing to keep accurate voter records in accordance with federal law.

First, the limitations of this data. I did some digging, since there was no one report that presented the data that headline gets at. Based on a 2015 report I was able to identify the 17 counties and the percent of registration over eligible voting age citizens. Then I looked up the counties to see what their voting tendencies were:

Franklin 190% deep red

Pulaski 176% deep red

Washington 150% deep red

Henderson 148% deep red switched from deep blue 2016

Union 138% deep red

Rock Island 133% deep blue (Trump within 1% in 2016, close in 2020)

Alexander 130% red, switched from deep blue in 2016

Massac 125% deep red

Hardin 119% deep red

Mercer 109% deep red switched from blue 2016

Crawford 109% deep red

Wabash 105% deep red

White 104% deep red

Jersey 104% deep red

Jefferson 102% deep red

Sangamon 101% red (home of Springfield, state capital)

Scott 101% deep red

The percentages look pretty outlandish. But then you see that these counties are mostly Deep Red. What’s going on? Start with this. The top ten IL counties, from the stand point of total population, all have populations in excess of 200K people. Cook County alone has over 5 million people and the top five counties all have in excess of half a million people. None of the counties on that list above are in the top ten when it comes to total population.

Of the 17 counties listed above, Sangamon (#11) comes in at 194K total population and Rock Island comes in at 141K. The remaining 15 counties all fall below 38K, and five are below 7K. Add to this that some of the these counties fall well below the national average when it comes to actual voter turnout. What we’re probably seeing is that many of these counties may lack the resources to undertake the burdensome job of purging voter rolls. It’s not really a good indicator of fraud, in and of itself

All that being the case, why would the Deep Blue state of Illinois have defied federal law in a vain attempt to conceal that 17 Deep Red counties in Illinois had far more registered voters than actually eligible voters? The answer surely lies in this:

the entire state has close to 800,000 inactive voters still registered

If you add up, as I did, the total populations—not the number of registered voters—in those 17 counties you come up with 549K total population. From that you have to subtract those under the age of 18 to give you the rough number of eligible voters. If you do a bit more number crunching you’ll see that a considerable number from the total of 800K inactive voters are registered elsewhere—outside those 17 Deep Red counties. That does provide a resource for Dem election fraud in Blue counties—to which we have to add the gap in registrations and actual turnout, which can also be exploited in various ways. That, I think, is why a Deep Blue state would not be eager to expose lax voter roll records in Deep Red counties. The consideration that may play into this is the effect that the excess votes may have on elections for state wide offices—that is probably the real advantage to be had from lax voter registration records

To expose Dem shenanigans requires far more effort than simply purging voter rolls. It’s a worthy exercise all on its own, but it’s just a start. What it does is limit the possibilites for fraud in a statistical sense.

From this I think we can see the value of revelations such as the GBI case. I took a look at voter turnout in IL by county in 2020. I can tell you that turnout in Cook County was easily within reasonable ranges by comparison to other counties—assuming that registration totals in Cook County are legit. That’s where major metro areas become very important. Cook County and the City of Chicago dominate Illinois politics because their population is such a large percent of the total state population. That means that a far lower percentage of ineligible voters on the rolls in Chicago—as compared to the 17 counties we looked at—could have a major impact because the lower percentage comes from a population far in excess of the population in Deep Red areas and yields a higher total number. If the Dems are funding operations like GBI, clearly taking big legal risks, there’s something going on that needs to be examined.
