Tom Luongo’s latest is highly provocative—which is to say, thought provoking. Read the whole article—really—but for now I want to focus on how he handles some of the issues that I’ve been raising lately.
Is TL teetering on the brink of endorsing RFKJR? It almost seems that way. At a minimum, he’s absolutely correct that RFK is by far the Dems worst nightmare, because his positions appear to be directly opposed to the those of the Dems’ globalist masters. Here’s how TL frames that relationship:
A US with a corrupt globalist-tethered president is the fulcrum on which all of their evil rests, folks. And “Joe Biden” is the perfect guy for that job.
So imagine how globalist heads exploded over this:
RFK introduced the concept of gold/bitcoin redeemable US Treasuries is the real body blow to Davos.
Worse yet, RFK isn’t some chump—whatever else you say about him, he is smart. He’s running a smart campaign, modeled on Trump 2016 with some updating and tweaks. And right now he’s getting in the way of the Dems’ big plan for 2024. He’s got the Dems and globalists worried, as is apparent from the way the predictable and extreme smears have already been deployed—well in advance of the campaign season. The Dems thought they had a bit of time to sort things out with Zhou, before anointing Newsom. RFK may be forcing them to rethink that.
Several times in the recent past I’ve pointed out how convoluted the constitutional situation is when it comes to replacing Zhou—a task that needs to be accomplished sooner rather than later. As I outlined the situation, the GOP majority in the House gives the GOP extreme leverage in this situation because the VP replacement in a Zhou replacement scenario must be approved by a majority in both the House and the Senate. While there are conceivable ways to finesse this impasse, a determined GOP has multiple ways to stick an iron bar into the spokes of the Dem bicycle. Meanwhile, Zhou’s health is a real wildcard—there’s no predicting on that, only betting.
But readers will have noticed the caveat: a “determined” GOP. But what about a determined Uniparty?
That’s where TL’s angle comes in. Consider this scenario. Nothing the Dems throw at RFK is deterring or fazing him and. Meanwhile, while the Dems and the Uniparty dither over how to solve a problem like Zhou (and Jill and Hunter and), RFK has stolen a march on the presumptive Dem candidate, Newsom:
And he’s doing this months before the primary season begins for real while the DNC is trying to figure out how to replace Joe Biden with California Governor Gavin Gruesome while sidelining Vice-President Kamala Harris.
So how about this scenario?
Newsom will inherit all of Biden’s money when Joe is forced out of the race. There will be a negotiation between the GOPe and the DNC allowing Joe a way out of this with what’s left of his dignity intact.
The big tell will be them doing to Harris what Obama did to Biden in 2016, sidelining the two-term Vice President to allow Hillary Clinton to run.
It should also be no surprise that Mitt Romney threatened to switch his party affiliation to Democrat officially. He knows he won’t be re-elected in Utah. His work is done, now he gets to vandalize as much as he can before he’s out the door.
Someone is positioning themselves for a either a Vice-Presidency vacancy or a split-party scenario once Joe’s been put out of our misery.
RFK’s rise in stature through the grassroots of alternative media is a big deal. He has his faults. He may be yet another ‘looks good on paper’ candidate. His environmental background is still very problematic for me.
But his championing the Judy Shelton program of gold redeemable US Treasuries is such a huge tell that he’s for real. This is a six-sigma event. It means he understands what Powell et.al. are doing on Wall St. and at the Marriner-Eccles building.
Let’s try parsing this. The Dems are pressed for time, due to the RFK insurgency. The effort to sideline Zhou is taking too long and the blowback from the publicity surrounding his crimes is starting to look like it could tarnish the party, too. It may be time to bite the bullet and accept Prez Kama Sutra—because it may happen anyway, so maybe it’s better to bite that bullet while you still have some deal making leverage.
What would the deal look like? My belief is that Kama Sutra is persuadable—she can be persuaded that a year in the OO is good enough and any attempt to start a presidential run would be madness. A book deal should be good enough to persuade her on that score.
Who would replace her as VP in that scenario? That comes down to how determined the GOP is. If you see any of the GOP senators who recently signaled they might jump the GOP ship being put forward, you’ll know that some sort of fix is probably in. But one thing is certain—this can’t work without GOP cooperation.
But going back to the beginning of that passage, that business of “allowing Joe a way out”. What’s that about? Why hasn’t he been impeached, prosecuted, forced to resign, banished from polite or even from political society—like, already? As I’ve been saying, he knows too much to make that easy—even though it should be a piece of cake in strictly legal terms. Again, as I’ve been saying, Ukraine has been for years ground zero for US political corruption—we saw that in the Hillary campaign and it doubtless goes back much further. If Ukraine is the most corrupt country on earth, what’s the likelihood that the Uniparty wouldn’t find there way to Kiev? We know the answer:
The events in Ukraine trace a political throughline right back to Trump’s second impeachment and the 2020 election.
While the DNC was persecuting Trump over the phone call to Zelensky. Back then, like many others I fell for the whole, “they’re impeaching Trump for Joe Biden’s crimes” narrative that was the low-hanging fruit.
But I also made sure to always go one step further reminding everyone that all of the major players on Capitol Hill — Pelosi, Romney, Graham, McCain, the Clintons, Obama, etc. — were guilty as hell in Ukraine. They were all in over their hip-waders in the mud there.
…
And it was the easiest thing to see unfold in real time. Ukraine and corruption there became the new third rail of US politics. To Trump’s credit he not only touched that rail he lubed himself up in high conduction flux and rolled around on it until the rail exploded.
The result was predictable. They impeached him for it, for pity’s sake! For what? Nothing. It wasn’t what he said but what he signaled he was threatening by trying to broker a deal over Ukraine.
For that alone, I have to give him immense credit.
Who thinks Bluto Barr and Chris “Waste of Space” Wray weren’t totally in the know about Ukraine? How many times has Turtle McConnell said that Ukraine is “our” top priority? Of course the Uniparty is circling the wagons, and making a deal with Zhou—one that the MSM will try to sell as actually dealing with the criminality in a serious way—is a defensive move that we should expect.
What I’ve sketched out above with a pastiche of TL quotes would be the Uniparty plan if they can get things to go smoothly. The big question is whether Kevin McCarthy allows that. Does he have ambitions? Is he a politician? TL, in his closing, holds out a bit of hope—and he also hints at supporting RFK:
The War in Ukraine has been a project close to 30 years in the making. ...
This is where RFK Jr. can really move the ball forward in a way that Trump can’t.
Their corruption is so endemic it’s not just appalling, it is the thing they have to protect more than anything for their own personal empires.
But now the whole thing is collapsing. The GOPe is seeing the shift in the political winds on Capitol Hill. Blood is in the water not just over Joe Biden, but the entire rotten edifice. Is it possible they’ll finally get to Obama here?
And they are beginning to press their advantage. This is why we have Speaker McCarthy openly going after Biden. Why there are IRS whistleblowers testifying.
Lots of rats are beginning to run out of sinking political ships. It’s a slow process and then it’s an avalanche. Whatever finally takes down Biden will take down so many on the Hill.
Screaming “Anti-Semitism and Racism” at RFK Jr. by Broward’s Queen Debbie of old Queens, NY is so 2016 it’s not funny.
I’m agnostic as far as this optimism goes. I’d love to see it work out like that. The action so far hasn’t really involved the Senate GOP—rather to the contrary. True, Grassley and Johnson have played a role, and some others. Rand Paul plugs away, Ted Cruz and Hawley have their moments. But not a peep from Turtle, and there was that pushback from the possible ship jumpers. McCarthy is keeping his cards close to the vest. Yes, he’s allowing the hearings to go on. He has reasons for dragging things out that could cut both ways. Does he see himself as defending the future of the republic, as the guys at The Duran put it:
I think we’ll just have to wait and see. In the meantime, at the least, RFK may be doing the country a favor. We need a big one.
I'm not, for the record, on the verge of endorsing RFK Jr. I think he's interesting and have simply gone through the process of analyzing the situation. What I think is really happening is the same forces that forced Biden to back down in Ukraine at Vilnius two weeks ago are going after Biden and throwing open all of the doors on the cockroaches on The Hill
It'll get messy from here. Too many potential counter-moves to model. This game of "Five Tribes" just started. It could go in a lot of different directions.
