Yeah, we figured out that it closed when we couldn't find the road to it, on the way to Friess Lake (on Hwy 83). My wife wanted to leave our wedding reception in a hot air balloon, and there was lots of open space around to do so. And my thinking was that, it was such a nice place, that everyone would still be having a good time even if we weren't there.

It's a really nice place to gather with family.

The road is still there, passed it today, but didn't go down. Another place that used to be a fantastic restaurant was the Red Circle Inn in Nashotah, a mile or two up the road. It used to be a stage coach inn between Milwaukee and Madison. It was a nationally rated restaurant but I don't know what it's like under new ownership:

The basilica looks lovely!

I bet the shooter was on SSRI anti-depressants, which have been linked to mass shootings.

Enjoy your visit to Holy Hill. Southern Wisconsin temperatures are still pretty good (50s to low 60s) for this time of year.

Mid 60s today, clear and sunny. And very windy. Still had some nice fall color.

Enjoy your time at Holy Hill. My parents were married there. My mom's family had cottages on Friess Lake, nearby. My parents, my sister, a cousin, and a second cousin each still do have cottages there.

I'm more familiar with the lake area in NW Waukesha County. We had places on Upper Nashotah and Nagawicka until my late 20s. We had a great visit--beautiful, sunny day. And very windy! Standing on the porch in front of the basilica felt like we'd be blown away, but great view. The renovation was very tasteful. We went up on the Interstate but came home on 83, visiting old haunts.

Ha, my wife and I had our wedding reception on Lake Nagawicka, at the Weissgerber's Seven Seas.

Glad you had a good day up at Holy Hill.

OMG!!! One of our very favorite places! You do know, don't you, that it closed a few years ago? I can't tell you how many Friday nights we spent there over the years. Even after my father no longer had his places, many of the family would reunite there.

I believe the Weissgerbers still own the Golden Mast on Lake Okauchee.

One more instance of the incompetence of our political class. The incompetence is not only at the federal level, it happens at state and local levels as well. And passing new laws on the hot topics is not going to help if they don't even enforce the existing laws. If they don't enforce the existing laws, how much will they enforce new ones?

As for Holy Hill- I have been there before a long time ago- beautiful place to be found in such an odd location.

We went there some years ago but it has been refurbished.

I was reading that it had undergone a renovation in the early 2000s, which was long after my visit in the early 1990s.

My late father-in-law was from Sheboygan. He had an uncle in the priesthood and two aunts who were religious sisters. We went to Port Washington to see a place where he served as pastor (St. Mary's). Then we went to Campbellsport, Appleton and other towns where the sister's served. We topped it off in Sheboygan to see my F-I-L's boyhood home and the grandparent's gravesite. Hitting a deer in rural WI in the pouring rain was not a highlight.

I don't believe the news media today saying Biden is beating Trump in Wisconsin. Why is there so much criminality in that state, which I interpret to be a farming state? Surely these people know Biden cannot function much longer, every day he seems to be going downhill despite their efforts to prop him up.

It’s all who you poll.

It seems the Wi results were needed for the narrative that Biden only leads among White Voters.

And Polico has a long form article on Biden’s Corruption.

Basically the Establishment Media is sending the message Biden needs to be replaced as the 2024 Democratic Candidate, as he is a toxic political train wreck.

But will this be enough for the Biden Family to end their lucrative Business?

By "criminality," I mean of course, the ballot and voting cheating, not the general public.

It looks like the state/local officials are trying to shift blame to the Army. The other issue is meds: was he given meds or not, did he take them, did he stop taking them, did he take them and get worse?

Watching the state police spokesperson spin the story that day, knowing what he said was bs made me tune out the whole sad affair. I was waiting for some of the truth to come out. Another black eye for LE on not following up.

My father was a professor of psychology at several midwest universities but consulted for religious institutions as well as a mental hospital--that last is how we got places on lakes in Waukesha County. Great way to spend a childhood.

If the "proper medication" was SSRI anti-depressants, that was probably the cause for the mass shooting.

According to what I have read, including in the Substack I linked to, antipsychotics can also trigger akathisia, which in turn can trigger suicide or homicide. Considering the close ties between the CDC, FDA, and Big Pharma, I would be shocked if anyone would ever be able to successfully file a malpractice suit. Case in point, the Covid "vaccines" still being pushed, despite the mounting evidence they are far more dangerous than Covid.

Forgot to mention that the above institutions, with the enthusiastic help of the mainstream media, suppresses any data that makes Big Pharma look bad.

On Maine: The Parkland (in Coward...er, *Broward* County) shooting took place almost six years ago with similar circumstances--the local/regional law enforcement knew all about the perp, yet nothing was done about Nicholas Cruz who, by the by, is doing 34 consecutive life sentences in the hoosegow.

On Wisconsin: I always enjoyed the scenery while road-tripping that state.

Parkland resident here. Not sure how much the local LE knew about Cruz, other than the school deputy (a waste of a uniform) The school and administration certainly knew all about him. Unfortunately our local FBI office ignored a warning they were given. Also unfortunately many school resource officers/deputies are Mr. Nice guys finishing up careers, not exactly the “first responder” you want protecting anything short of a donut. My department changed that practice after Columbine but not many others did.

My son, who is carrying on the family tradition volunteered to work there for a week in the aftermath (it had been his HS) He said everyone in the school knew the a**hole was a bomb waiting to go off, but the kinder gentler deluded people in charge shuttled him off to a non functioning program and did absolutely no follow-up.
