If anything has become clear in the last few weeks it’s the perils of allowing a Deep State to exist in the heart of a supposedly representative government. What we’ve seen in the Speakership fight/impasse has been the role of the Military Industrial Intel Complex (MIIC) in influencing the shape and direction of our elected representatives. Will the election today of Mike Johnson as Speaker—unquestionably a setback for the DC Establishment—change that to any great extent? I’m not going to start holding my breath, yet.
Start with Palestine. Today legal beagle Jonathan Turley writes:
Yes, Hamas Is Legally, Morally, & Factually A Terrorist Organization
But then what does that say about the governments that have created the conditions in which Hamas thrives, have funded Hamas—created it, and provided it with military training? In other words, what does all this say about Israel and the US, because Israel and the US did exactly all those things. Turley calls Hamas a “terrorist organization”, but that’s not what we called them when they were the allies of Israel and the US in trying to overthrown the Syrian government. Back then, along with al Qaeda and ISIS, Hamas were “moderate rebels.” Syria is where Hamas go a lot of its obviously impressive military skills: We trained them.

Haaretz: of the named #Israeli dead from the Hamas attack of 7 October, 924 of 1538 (60%) have been identified as military or police. The principal aim of #Hamas was "to destroy the Gaza Division" and then to take prisoners for an exchange. https://haaretz.com/israel-news/2023-10-19/ty-article-magazine/israels-dead-the-names-of-those-killed-in-hamas-massacres-and-the-israel-hamas-war/0000018b-325c-d450-a3af-7b5cf0210000…

We—the US and Israel, the CIA and Israeli intel—also recruited the Sunni governments that funded Hamas (especially Qatar, but other Arab and Western governments). Now, of course, the narrative is that Shiite Iran is an ally of Hamas, but Hamas is a creature of the Neocons when all is said and done.
This is the inevitable results of the hubristic tactic—so typical of intel organizations throughout the West—of attempting to create chaos as a strategy for maintaining control. The failures of this approach are foreseeable, and we’re seeing it now. So now we’re seeing the narrative that Iran is to blame. Who benefits from an attack on Iran? Not you and me—we didn’t get to vote for this. How many Americans actually realize that our military occupation in Syria is illegal? As such that presence is a continuing provocation to region governments, who rightly fear that they could be targeted next. We provoke, then blame others for reacting. Who, then, are these fanatics who might risk the world for their ideology?
Here’s where we are:

The Pentagon is deploying two carrier strike groups, eleven Burke-class destroyers, a number of Ticonderoga-class cruisers, amphibious assault ships, THAAD and Patriot missile defense systems, multiple squadrons of fighter jets, strategic bombers, and undisclosed assets to the Middle East.
The Pentagon expects Iranian proxies to continue to target U.S. troops in the region and has already stated that they will respond "decisively."
What's the probability that this escalates into a war between the United States and Iran?
PENTAGON: "Between October 17th and the 24th, U.S. and coalition forces have been attacked at least ten separate times in Iraq and three separate times in Syria via a mix of one-way attack drones and rockets...
We know that the groups conducting these attacks are supported by the IRGC and the Iranian regime. We are seeing the prospect for more significant escalation against U.S. forces and personnel across the region in the near term coming from Iranian proxy forces and, ultimately, from Iran.
So, by virtue of our announcement over the weekend, we are preparing for this escalation, both in terms of defending our forces and responding decisively."

How smart is this? Here’s an out-take from Tucker’s interview with Doug Macgregor. Macgregor makes two points that aren’t getting sufficient discussion.
First, Russia will not allow the US to destroy Iran (if that were possible). The forward deployment by Russia of hypersonic missile armed jets is part of that. No US military assets can survive hypersonics. Iran itself is very capable, especially in the field of drones and missiles.
Second, Turkey is a possible player against Israel and the US that few except for Macgregor are talking about. Pakistan has offered Turkey nukes for protection against other nuclear powers—that would be the US and Israel.
How are actions of Israel not called terrorism when they attack and kill far more civilians than Hamas? In addition to destroying homes and stealing their lands. Either deliberately targeting civilians is terrorism or it is not. Exempting our client countries from that definition makes that designation suspect.
Hmmm... the Tucker interview with Macgregor has been deleted. "This video is no longer available because the YouTube account associated with this video has been terminated." Unpleasant truths for TPTB were contained therein, apparently.
