Covid, The War, And Election 2024
Surely the top two topics demanding truly searching debate during the runup to Election 2024 are the dual tragedies of the Covid Regime and the War on Russia. There are other topics, too—in fact, no lack at all of existentially threatening topics that affect the nation. Crime in the cities, Wokism everywhere, the Open Border.
We could go on, but we’ll stick to Covid and the War. The sad fact is that neither of these pressing issues has received the in depth attention on the campaign trail thus far that they demand. Perceptive commentators are expressing their disappointment and I have to believe that much of the country is also turned off by our midget politicians—a dangerous development at this particular juncture, at which the future of our constitutional order is at stake.
I’ll start with some comments regarding the Covid Regime, and the lack of appropriate debate. Senator Ron Johnson expresses the situation succinctly:

My hat is off to Johnson—he risked his political career to buck the Uniparty by digging deep into what was behind the Covid Regime. And he’s right to point to “the course of two administrations.” Trump has yet to fully address his role in the Covid Regime, although he may be holding back for the right time—which could come soon. Jeffrey Tucker expresses his own disappointment with Tucker Carlson, in more civil terms than others have done:
Two nights ago was supposed to be a night of reckoning and truth. The intrepid and independent journalist Tucker Carlson was to grill Donald Trump, who skipped the GOP debates because he is already the hands-down frontrunner and doesn’t want anything to do with conventional politics.
Tucker had spent the last three years on Fox correctly denouncing lockdowns, censorship, vaccine mandates, and medical segregation, plus the attacks on American liberty. He certainly knows what’s what. One might have supposed that the issues that tanked the Trump presidency and nearly the whole of American society and liberty would be front and center. Now was the time!
Oddly, none of it came up in his interview with Trump. The interview answered none of our questions about why Trump did what he did, which not only wrecked the American economy but arguably lost him the election. Even if you think the election was stolen, it was only through the mail-in ballots that the Covid controls unleashed. Tucker drilled down into none of this. It was as if 2020 did not happen at all.
The simultaneous GOP debate was even worse. Ron DeSantis started with a bang and spoke about lockdowns but the topic fizzled quickly. Following a flurry of pharma ads – indeed the entire event was funded by FDA-approved drug sales – the moderators briefly asked former vice president Mike Pence if he thought his administration bore any responsibility for learning loss because the Trump administration urged school closures.
Pence – who spent 2020 running cover for Anthony Fauci and Deborah Birx – wholly ignored the question and said something else. The topic was never revisited again.
Tucker is not being unfair. The country deserves better. It may turn out, however, that the Zhou regime will actually force the much needed debate on the country. There are many signs pointing to a desperate attempt to re-institute the Covid Regime in a a bid to steal another election. Resistance is already being voiced. People know too much. And today saw a political event that could be the start of something bigger. First consider this graph (via Tom Luongo’s X-thread):
No actual need to know which color stands for which states (spoiler alert—lower right). I assume Greg Abbott in TX knows this, as do most sentient people—despite the Left’s lies:
Are they kidding? Well, yes they are. They’re still banking on gaslighting most of the people this time, too. That’s what makes Abbott’s action significant. Abbott is getting out ahead of the Covid Regime 2.0, and that should lead to similar action in Red States. This will be a popular action, and will get the attention of people in all states, outside the Big Blue Metro centers:
OK, I get it. This is far too little. It should have included mask, distancing, and lockdowns. But it’s a start—it’s the first step that counts. If more governors get on board, the SCOTUS will need to take note. So this is important.

Washington must achieve peace in Ukraine at all costs before a Russian victory causes serious damage to the reputation of the United States and NATO around the world, exhorts The National Interest. The gradual movement of US expert thought, according to the Kubler-Ross model, from denial through anger, bargaining and depression to acceptance looks amusing. But in order for the "Korean" scenario to suit Russia, in any case, Moscow's conditions will have to be met - they relate to the demilitarization, denazification and neutrality of what remains (if remains) from Ukraine.
Otherwise, Russia simply does not need to stop and agree on what it already has. The National Interest writes about it himself.

It’s a fair summary. Here’s a direct quote from the article itself:

It may be too late. The article doesn’t even address the damage that has already been done. BRICS appears to be ascendant, and that’s due in large part to Russian diplomacy, fueled by loathing for the collective West:

I simply have to believe that sooner or later someone in US politics is going to start talking about all this.
Looking at the disarming array of gutless wonders currently inhabiting our political arena, the “sooner” will more than likely turn out to be “later”. I said the other day in the comments that I was convinced that the push to revive Covid hysteria was the opening salvo in an attempt to steal another election and cement absolute control of the American public. If they pull it off again, it’s over. Those of us who decide to resist will be demonized and vilified by the large number of “good Nazis” who will be only too happy to turn us in so we can be shuffled off to a reeducation camp or a holding area to keep us away from the happily compliant.
This go around is for all the marbles and will see the country forever changed. Lukewarm and halfhearted “patriot” politicians will not stop a force of this magnitude, it will require real men to stand in the breach and “pledge their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor” in order to stop this great calamity, but where are such men to be found?
These are truly perilous times.
