Regarding the Perkins Coie RA of the FBI, which apparently has to do with facilitating recipients of National Security Letters (NSLs) who wish to explore their legal options, quite a few commenters have asked whether PC-RA is the only law firm with a SCIF arrangement like this. These comments may have been inspired by this tweet by Margot Cleveland, which I had seen when I wrote about this today but decided not to include:
Well, another Dem-constructed rabbit hole? I hope Gaetz and Jordan get answers. Still, Wray hedging and not giving a straight response to Kennedy is passing strange…PC/Sussman/HfA/FGPS- elections (!) - all of which Durham was trying futilely to tie together in the courtroom…
The whole damn arrangement seems suspect and less than honest to me. But then again, who as m I to complain? I’m just one of those deplorable citizens who actually believed at one time that we the people controlled our government, instead of our government controlling us. Now I know better. I may not be woke. But I sure as hell have been awakened.
When it comes to this crowd, I don’t believe anything they say or write and I don’t trust that they would not abuse their position or authority. Therefore, I’m not readily willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.
This whole setup doesn’t pass the smell test for me and my nose.
I guess I’d have to say I’m what Spiro Agnew would call a “niggiling malcontent.
I wonder how many waivers had to be given to set up and operate a SCIF in a non-government-controlled facility. Did this law firm's building have 24-hour security, or was it reliant on an intrusion alarm system when unoccupied?
Well then, we'd have to assume there was a competitive bid process where those multitude of firms competed and the government contract was awarded to the lowest bidder. Right? Ah, nevermind.
And the Fbi just Arrested Peter Navarro.
And they wonder on the lack of trust.
And nothing from the GOP.

Thx Mark-I’m grateful for your working knowledge of these protocols, processes, procedures

Many contractors in other industries must have SCIFs in order to work on the classified portions of their contracts.
There's a regular process for constructing, commissioning, and decommissioning those facilities.
The difference being that PC isn't a contractor--at most a facilitator. It's a weird relationship.
Right. It certainly couldn't have been an off the cuff decision.

Actually access to the FBIHQ building, or even the WFO office, would be much more of a pain. You'd need an escort throughout the bldg., etc.
