I’m thinking wiser heads may prevail as more “this is a bad idea” articles come out. If the GOP does take back congress and win out in 2024 could you imagine the vindictive mayhem that could be wrought on Obama and the Clintons? While a pleasant daydream perhaps unless there’s a radical change the GOP just doesn’t have the testicular fortitude for payback.

The Covid story has a long way to go and the culprits are not out of the woods. Fauci thinks he is safe because he is retiring. I don't think he is. Another snipped of news this week, Mark, was that Portugal, the second most vaxxed nation on Earth, behind Malta, has the highest mortality rate in Europe. Wonder what is causing that?

It will prevent you from getting the virus -- is a lie.

it will prevent you from transmitting the virus -- is a lie.

It will lessen the effects of the virus -- is unproveable.

The mask will protect you -- is a lie.

The mask will prevent you from transmitting the disease is a lie.

the vaccine is safe and effective -- has not been proven and appears to be a lie.

We are going to send health officials to your home to convince you to get vaccinated -- was a lie.

The vaccine is fully approved, not an experiment -- was a lie.

Everyone must wear a mask to protect the immune compromised -- was a lie.

Also, there suddenly appear to be a lot of immune compromised that require everyone in the room to wear a mask. It seems there must have been immune compromised people before Covid existed, I don't recall ever wearing a mask for them then. I believe a lot of attention needy people suddenly proclaimed themselves to have a special disability that requires everyone around them to make sacrifices on their behalf.

I'm still amazed, perhaps outraged is a better word, that the major pharmacy chains are advertising to get your “back to school Covid vaccine/booster”. Are they TRYING to destroy future generations or just that greedy?

I'm convinced it's pure greed

My bet is that Trump will 'win' in a lower Court, and get an apology. A 'win' would prevent him from taking this further. They don't want to see this escalate all the way up to the Supreme Court and get a decision based on the law. The Media can of course claim it was all justified, and Trump won a limited decision based on a technicality.

That would not surprise me.

I believe Trump will eventually win in the courts on the Executive Privilege, but how long will it take?

Trump’s Rico case sounds interesting / exciting from what little I know of it , but I have a gut feeling a way will be found to end the case before discovery, due to standing, statute of limitations, national security concerns, open investigation, sovereign immunity, etc.

Seems that Chicago has gone into a time warp, the public school situation there is like it was in my grandparents day. My maternal grandfather was born in December, 1900 and he attended the Dallas City School until the 4th grade, after that he worked until he was 75 years of age. No truancy laws existed in the good old days, as far as I am concerned they could be repealed tomorrow.

Depressing and almost hard to believe about the students in Chicago's schools abandoning their education. Surely there's some way to turn this around.

Let's face it: No one with a functioning brain and an objective view would believe these numbers justify a continuation of Chicago Public Schools as currently constituted. Constant truancy numbers under 60% are grounds for awards! Given current conditions of attendance vs. capacity there should be a massive consolidation. Not likely given the Teacher's Union and all the bought politicians, of course. I wonder what the teacher/student ratio is now - that info does not seem to be readily obtainable. What an utter and tragic joke this is. Lots of people should be charged with fraud and theft over this.

The other thing that strikes me is the high percentage (often >80%) of students who come from families below the poverty level. These are people with no money and no options to exert influence over the system. So, just who does influence the system? OK, that was a rhetorical question.
