Trump has stated that on Day One of his new administration he would roll back proposed new Education Department Regulations that would put the Trans movement on steroids.
Remember when you criticize Trump for taking various positions: you have to win the election first and foremost. I think DJT learned from his first go at bat how deeply embedded the system’s problems are, and has a giant container of weed killer ready to go. First day, move swiftly to depopulate the Deep State, and fire everyone you can in Fed.gov civil service and enact legislation to enable removal of the denizens of these useless and protected bureaucracies. Leave seats empty. National Security Council? Fire them all. The USA will survive somehow, right? I can dream. . . . .
Well, you’ll have to forgive my skepticism at this point about “anything” that DJT is going “to do”, because there were things that he ordered done during his presidency that were completely stymied by traitorous and duplicitous bureaucrats. You can order all manner of things done, but bringing the reality to fruition is another matter entirely.
Bill Barr, Christopher Wray, Mike Pence and the particularly despicable Lt. Colonel Vindman and a host of like minded co-conspirators can bring the best intentions to naught. Oh, and let’s not forget that feckless bunch of impotent buffoons who identify as Republicans, I seem to recall they were pretty much MIA when it counted.
Yep, not feeling particularly confident or enthusiastic at this point.
If Trump has a convincing (not contestable) victory, there may be a honeymoon period with a Republican controlled Congress. And there is a very good chance the Senate will at least be Republican. The trick for Trump will be to try to get as much accomplished as fast as he can at the very beginning of his administration, while the glow and authority conferred by victory still has influence on his supposed compatriots in the Republican party.
D, I wish I was as optimistic as you but it’s gonna take more than “the glow of victory” to overcome the entrenched administrative state!
As far as the “ supposed compatriots in the Republican Party”, only a mere handful that I trust as far as I can throw’em while firmly believing that the rest will hit the ground doing everything they possibly can to stifle, undermine and neutralize anything in Trump’s agenda. I also believe that if he does win, that the resistance to him will manifest itself in ways that will make what they did during his first term presidency look like a bit of harmless high school hazing.
Regardless of whether that resistance comes from the Democrats or the Republicans.
Who was it that said, “You ain’t seen nothin yet folks”?
Yeah, SMH, could well be. The administrative state isn't going to go away quickly or easily, that's for sure. The difference is we all know about the Deep State now thanks to Trump - its components, its motivations, and how it operates, along with the role of the largely corrupt Congress in it. With that knowledge now generalized, we just might see what power the public still has (or doesn't have) to counter the Deep State's actions. Or we may just see the public roll over and accept that we no longer live in either a Democracy or a Republic but under tyranny. Either way, perhaps we shall see.
I would rather his stances be taken and his decisions be made out of principle rather than the results of focus group testing. Any old pol can do that. Sort of fascinating (and at the same time disheartening) to watch him turn into a politician.
Trump, his wife, and his sons and their wives need your scrutiny, before you buy and promote the stories Trump's campaign is going to bombard his loyalists with on this topic.

This would be wonderful, but not a chance.

Trump is also going after offshore windmills:

Trump does market research at his rally’s, seeing what gets a response.

My guess it’s more about testing messaging to see what works and not.
And a way to keep the pulse of his base.
And what’s different for Trump, is he usually follows through with what he promises. Which is different than the usual politicians.
80k person focus groups?
Yep, it’s so Trumpian.
More mind stirring.

This EGI thing is old.

If Trump wins, this will be the pattern of his presidency: one hit for every four misses.
