Just as it kinda looked like Twitter would be a bastion of freedom, ya gotta wonder about this:
Freedom was nice while it lasted

BREAKING: Twitter's new CEO, Linda Yaccarino, is currently the Executive Chair for the World Economic Forum, and was Chairman of Advertising at NBC Universal.
I mean, that seems disqualifying for a credible alternative media outlet, if that’s what Musk claims he’s up to. OTOH, Axios claims she’ll mostly be involved with wooing advertisers back, freeing Musk up from that chore. Note that she’s been in advertising her whole career, including with the WEF.
I am going to give Elon the benefit of the doubt here and “wait and see.” We don’t know everything he knows, and this might be a smart move to counter WEF efforts to sabotage Twitter. Keep your enemies close kind of thing. Musk is not WEF, and I’ll guess not everyone in the WEF orbit is rabidly loyal to that organization, and besides, she went to Penn State.
Oh, no... I didn't mean YOU Mark, I meant a general "you" - so I wasn't intending to be accusatory of anything you have said in the least. I agree about overreacting to the "young leaders" thing - as we have seen some people are designated as such who have not been active with the WEF in the least; on the other hand this woman was/is a Chairperson, which indicates not only active involvement but leadership. I'm not saying at this point that Musk will turn Twitter into a WEF tool but I fail to understand why he would open himself up to even the suspicion of that being the case. As you say time will tell.
