Musk appears to be a honest person. I don' see him letting his followers, employees or others down on this acquisition. Musk relied on SEC filings to make his bid. This included public information around "Bots" (<5%) as documented in said filings. His bid is contingent on proof of this.

That being said, Parag won't be able to stand the scrutiny. Board of Directors will be sued, SEC fines, and potential lawsuits. Value will be dropped.

His intent IMO is to punish these Twitter exec's and Board. Love it.

There's been lots of chatter about the number of people who use twitter to manipulate perceptions. Searching finds lots of references to DOD and CIA. Back during one of the past elections I recall the DNC bragging about how they were going to use the technology created to influence the Taliban and their supports to beat the RNC. I believe this may have been against Trump in 2016 and one of the reasons they thought the had it in the bag.

If the USA is doing it, then surely every other org/country with the funds will be doing it.

You can also flat out buy Twitter followers.

4. Criminal offenses? With this DOJ? Garland won't even enforce the black letter law to defend SCOTUS justices at their residences. Does anyone think he would do any more regarding Twitter and its shareholders, especially if there were a nefarious government connection that assists the leftist's cause? The shareholders would have to initiate the lawsuit for any chance of redress, IMO. This DOJ is as corrupt as the entire administration it 'services.'

I always thought buying Twitter was a mistake for Musk, so I am not surprised if the deal does unravel. I think the company is worthless as a money making operation, and way over-valued at today's stock price. He might, indeed, be using the deal as a way to diversify out of Tesla without cratering the stock price with his selling of the stock- that would be clever, and he had better have not put any such thoughts down in writing or told anyone that was the reason for offering to buy Twitter.

As for Twitter itself- I think the user numbers are fake, and the fakery is much, much larger than the "less than 5%" the Twitter management claims. All of these internet companies that depend on advertising revenue have motive and means to fake user numbers with little or no chance of being caught out without an owner and management committed to being honest about it all.
