"Trumpenfreude" - gotta love it! Surber is not just one of the few true journalists (emeritus), he is a poet. He is a great representative of what his profession should have aspired to be and should have been.

The divergence between the CoC and the Republican Party correlates to the degree to which the Republican Party supports Trump. Is that surprising? The big issue was/is the border. The national CoC has always been for maximizing corporate profits via cheap global labor, legal or not. They do not care about any negative ramifications of the U.S. being effectively borderless. Is it any wonder they hated Trump and his wall?

The shame of it is, like those companies that have been bought out or taken over from their originators, the national CoC has bastardized the good name and efforts of its local chapters. They are nothing more than a lobby for the globalists now regardless of how that affects their membership. A good guide for voting America First is to look at the GOP politicians who are funded by the CoC and vote against them on that basis.

If it falls to the main election, yes. If we catch them in the primaries, that's joyful!

What strikes me is the similarities between the grassroots right (maga) and left (occupy Wall Street) on big business. Neither trusts big business, especially Wall Street, and feels the system is corrupt / unfair.

The gop has traditionally been anti worker, and Trump rode the non elites frustration of the corruption and unfairness of the system, and rules by an incompetent, credentialed oligarchy. Trump with his backing of candidates in primaries, is slowly changing the GOP.

Trump is reducing the influence of the eGOP, by showing their stupidity, treachery, and venality. As well as how out of touch they are with Gop Voters. Romney and Liz Cheney are great examples of this. It would be sweet if Murkowski loses. It’s amazing how many scalps Trump has already collected, of Gop that voted to impeach him in congress.

The Rolling Stone piece Don Surber linked to was by David Drucker of the Washington Examiner. Interesting anti Trump spin.

I used to think the GOP was pro business.

Then I saw John McCains “just build the dang wall” commercial, and it just exposed the hypocrisy after he voted against the wall. The gop would say one thing to get elected, and act differently after elected. The gop loves to talk about helping small businesses, but it’s mostly talk.

Big Agriculture loves illegal immigration, backed gop candidates with no interest in building a wall.

It seems the eGOP uses funding as a way to make sure the right candidates get elected. Plus deliberate split / dilute the votes in primaries to get their preferred candidates. Paul Ryan is a great poster child of the eGOP, that has graduated to a lucrative lobbying career. I’m still shocked by his anti Trump actions while leader of the house, especially in the lame duck session after the midterms.

Trumps virtue is what he said pre election, is what you got post election. And he exposed so many gop that only talked, but did not walk the talk.

Ok, I’m going to get it out there, Joe Biden hasn’t done anything to this country because he’s not in charge, he’s not in control and he definitely ain’t pulling any strings to make things happen. Period.

He’s a puppet and an empty suit who does whatever he’s told to do, stands wherever he’s told to stand and grandstands whenever he’s told to grandstand.

This handwringing about what are the Dims gonna do about Joe is as phony as a three dollar bill. Anything they want, they just have Joey wave his arms and yell, or whisper , or maybe eat another ice cream cone and spin another one of multitudinous lies and voila it happens. The real culprits-I don’t believe there’s just “one”-are well hidden from view and well protected by the ministry of propaganda.

They all know, but won’t admit that if you look up the Latin phrase non compos mentis that Joe Biden’s picture is there.

The real problem is Republicans like Kevin McCarthy are either too stupid or complicit in this farce and refuse to take the necessary actions to bring it to an end. “There won’t be any impeachment of Joe Biden if we take back the House and Senate”, ain’t gonna get the job done! This crisis could be the death of the country if something decisive isn’t done and quickly.

Don’t misunderstand, I’m not suggesting it will be easy to fix this mess, but gutless politicians like McConnell and McCarthy and those of the same cloth, need to be pushed aside so that real statesmen and women can do what needs to be done before it’s too late.

When you consider what the dems might or might not do, whatever it may be, are we sure it'll be their choice the next day?

The 30 authoritarians, whoops, meant to say "progressives" who signed a letter urging the Biden admin to not be insane about Ukraine today issued a statement saying that they really didn't mean it.

WTF?!

They don't give a damn about ordinary Ukrainians or about the effects of the sanctions on the US/Global economy. They just see this issue as destroying them in the midterms. The Dem party is very Stalinist and lockstep. When Nancy wobbled her face at them, they caved like the cowards they are.

It's about the Benjamins.

I hope every one of them gets shouted out of the room when they have to face their own voters and explain how they were and then weren't for sanity in foreign policy.

Biden could die in office. They could actually give him a real Pfizer or Moderna shot instead of the saline and that might do it. Mind you, then they get Kamala who seems to be an idiot - not sure if that will help them.

Biden could die in office. How could we tell?

Good point!

It seems to me that there's only one conclusion to be drawn: Obama really, really wanted to destroy the US. We know that he knew Joe was an irretrievable f**k-up ("never underestimate Joe's ability...") We also know that Kamala was Obama's gal--and a rock solid insurance policy against Biden being impeached (and thwarting his plan).

If Barry is Oz behind the WH curtain--and even if he isn't--Biden was a lock to run the US off a cliff. Final point: Barry is the ultimate narcissist and nihilist. What bigger ego stoke could there be for him than being the one behind the destruction of the racist, colonialist USA?
