There are increasingly frank admissions coming from Western sources admitting that Russia is winning on both the economic front and the military front.
The bottom line is that, far from hurting Russia, sanctions are blowing up in the face of the West. Putin is under no pressure to change course."
This is why it seems utterly facetious to me when phonies like Scott Ritter says that Russia is moving too slowly and they risk the war dragging out etc... It's a transparent attempt to get Russia to stop doing what is obviously working. These Globalistas have no other weapon, it seems, than their propaganda narrarives. The pressure is entirely on the West to cave in or face economic collapse. (But that's probably the goal so...hey, win win amirite?)
More and more of the arcane and usual response from Zhou’s admin. Clueless. No ability to forecast future impact of short-sighted de ion making. Similar to Yellen’s comments on inflation. Ineptitude all around. We pay for it. 81 million. Sure.
Going off on a tangent here but my love of WWII history often brings me back. The NYPost commenting on "huge losses" makes me marvel at the limited view of history taken by media types these days. Sure, 100 dead/500 wounded everyday is rough, especially if you're the one catching the bullets and bombs. If my math is correct though, the "Russians" endured an average of 17,000 killed for every day they participated in World War Two (the Germans about 5700 but, that includes the period 1939-1945). Ukrainians were part of the "Rote Armee" at the time and suffered accordingly. I think this thing will go on for a very long time if the ability to suffer is considered. I recently read Timothy Snyder's book "Bloodlands". If you haven't I recommend it highly. The people of these areas have been inured to suffering over the decades and I'm not quite sure we in the West understand that. I'd bet that long after Biden's an dthe rest of Europe's donated weapons are used up these people will be at each other's throats.
I'm going to disagree. The real bottom line here is not that Slavs are animals who will always be at each others throats. The real bottom line is: People suffer what they must.
In the first two world wars people suffered greatly, with effects that are still felt throughout most of Europe. In many countries the madness with which the ruling classes pursued these insane wars broke the concept of a social contract between rulers and subjects. In current times, while we may not have transparency, I think people have a better understanding of what they MUST suffer, as opposed to what the ruling class is attempting to manipulate them into suffering. It may take time for that understanding to filter through, but it's more likely to do so more quickly than before, thanks to changes in mass media.
Russians, Jews, Poles, and others suffered what they did in WW2 because they had no choice--it was them or us. Ukrainians have a choice, and it's no a simple them/us choice. The relations of Ukraine as a region to Russia as a sovereign, multi-ethnic nation bear no resemblance whatsoever to the relations between Germany and Germans to almost any other European nations/peoples. Putin is not wrong in bringing up those differences. Ukraine is not as unified as a nation as Western propaganda wishes us to believe. That has been the point of my repeated map driven excursions into history, language, culture, politics. The geographical lines for a settlement are perfectly obvious and are obvious to many Ukrainians--of whatever actual ethnic/linguistic background they may be.
The point is that this war is not a war that Ukrainians MUST suffer. It is a catastrophe that a fanatical faction--supported by the the US/UK but not representing anything close to a majority of Ukrainians--has induced Ukrainians to get involved in. The phenomenon of mass surrenders and public statements by entire units of the Ukrainian military testifies that Ukrainians are waking up to the fact that they are suffering without a compelling reason. This, I hope, will help bring an end to this tragedy.
Just to clarify. I didn't mean to equate Slavs with animals and I know you're not accusing me of that. I meant that a people who has laid their heads on a pillow in the region over the last 90 years or so have been abused in one way or another by various tyrants, etc. Whether or not it was forced on them, they chose it, whatever, they still have to endure.
I wonder what the Biden Administration will try next in order to avoid a midterm blood bath?
The disinformation board was basically the fault of substack authors like Mark. Substack is one of the few remaining non censored platforms, and even more dangerous it allows people to earn a living doing it, and has a free version. Only a subscription based model works, the advertising supported model for most websites has failed. Google and Facebook get the majority of the advertising dollars on the internet.
Glenn Reynolds, instapundit, wrote of the army of David’s. Substack has finally made that a reality. Good article that supports this:
Dr. Malone for example via substack has a huge reach and impact. Even two years ago, the counter vax and Covid information was just not out there. Now I subscribe to several substacks about Covid.
Another example is Emerald Robinson got canceled. How dare she go against the Covid narrative! She is now on substack, and the Washington Post contacted her to fact-check her. People only get fact checked when they are a threat:
The Biden admin, the WEF, and the Ukro-Nazi government all say: "No Borscht for you! Only insects!" This while the Putin admin says to the Russian citizenry: "No Western insects for you, only Borscht!" Now who would you want to live under? On a serious note, Jamie Dimon came out on where things are going in the world economy due to the Biden admin maladroitness:
Agree with you on that. The post Mark put up the other day about the possibility of the country heading towards grace just struck me as unfounded wishful thinking. If you step back and look at the contempt for law and constitutional order in the Biden administration and the relentless push to normalize moral depravity in this country, I only see us heading toward chaos and judgement.
Don't forget the evictions moratorium . . . deadbeats are rewarded by our deadbeat government, jealousy may be a factor. Russia has a small national debt. Ours is gigantic and growing out of control, there will be a reckoning, likely a default by the US. The default of the 4th liberty bonds was a trial run.
The eviction moratorium red pilled a landlord, whose daughter interned at a Democratic Senators office. Her comment was the eviction moratorium reminded her of the communist country she immigrated from.
I a former E-5 in the Texas Air National Guard agree with you about the proxy wars post WW2, what the hell do I know? Before the DOD was created in 1947 we had the War Department and the Department of the Navy, the 2 were merged.

Obama, Zhou, HRC no ability to reason or care of the suffering over the decades. How to make $$$$ is all they care about.
You have to ask the question: are the neocons and globalists trying to destroy the global economy; or are they just stupid, arrogant fools after all?
See WEF charter.

He seems to be on the side of Luongo. I wouldn't and won't bet against either of them.
Wish I was as confident as you are about “reality” setting in on the brain trust that created this mess, Mark.
Afraid I’m gonna have to side with Bill Engvald on this one, “you can’t fix stupid”!
Not Stupid, Brainwashed / indoctrinated in Right Think by our educational industrial complex.

We all win by the number of Russian yachts we steal.
Heard about this. Default by not defaulting. LOL. We’re so dumb.

Yet I know of no strong public voice calling out this madness.
Very true, unfortunately.
Pretty soon we will be saying Herbert Hoover was better.
My son got out of the Navy (UK) last autumn. I am SO glad! These madmen will drag us into some massive conflict rather than lose power.

You and I both know the the Senior NCO's actually make the world go around! I should have stuck around and made my 20.
Socialism in all of its forms SUCKS!
