Think about this. NATO is going to go global to take on Russia and China. If I understand this correctly, this is the UK saying they want the US to challenge Russia and China on a global basis. I mean, it’s not as if the UK really has anything to contribute. This amounts very much to the Anglosphere running NATO and muscling other members into line. The UK provides policy and rhetoric, the US tags along to provide muscle as needed:
Liz Truss calls for NATO to expand around the globe
Express ^ | 5/15/22 | Martyn BrownLIZ Truss has called for NATO to expand around the globe to counter the threat from superpowers like Russia and China.
The announcement came as a meeting of NATO foreign ministers took place in Berlin, where the Ukraine war and expanding the alliance were discussed.
Speaking at the meeting, Ms Truss said "there was strong support" for a "more global NATO".
No one else is quoted as strongly supporting this scheme.
The announcement [re Finland’s application to join NATO] came as a meeting of NATO foreign ministers took place in Berlin, where the Ukraine war and expanding the alliance were discussed.
"At NATO this weekend, we agreed we must continue to help Ukraine win and push Russia out. Putin must face a sustained defeat in Ukraine, Russia must be contained and such aggression must never happen again," she added.
UK will also fly flags as need to provide further support:

What’s the bigger picture? This guy thinks he knows, and it makes sense:

Up the Anglosphere, EU—Fall in line!
Some interesting discussion on these ideas at the threads. It seems clear that there’s a bigger picture to this whole war on Russia than the media narrative re defending the brave Nazis in Ukraine. For example, the formation of the new Anglosphere defense pact, AUKUS, in September, 2021, surely has a broader, global meaning, since it spans the world. International reaction to AUKUS was very mixed, with many in the EU appearing to recognize that AUKUS represented a type of Super NATO that would dominate the EU—which is what we appear to be seeing now. Reaction from Russia and Japan was also interesting:
Russia – Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov expressed concern, stating "This is a great challenge to the international nuclear non-proliferation regime." and that "We are also concerned about the … partnership that will allow Australia, after 18 months of consultations and several years of attempts, to obtain nuclear-powered submarines in sufficient numbers to become one of the top five countries for this type of armaments."
Japan – On 12 April 2022, Sankei Shimbun reported that the United States, United Kingdom, and Australia were inquiring about Japan's participation in the security framework of AUKUS. The newspaper added that the aim of said negotiations was related to the incorporation of Japanese hypersonic weapon development and the strengthening of electronic warfare capabilities. Prior to this, in November 2021, former Japanese prime minister Shinzo Abe called for greater Japanese-AUKUS cooperation and integration concerning artificial intelligence and cyberwarfare capabilities. The US denied inviting Japan into the security alliance, with Jen Psaki stating that Sankei Shimbun's report was "inaccurate". This was followed up by a refutation from Hirokazu Matsuno, the Japanese chief cabinet secretary.
You won’t read in the MSM about a new arms race fueled by ambitions for nuclear first strikes, but who can deny that dynamic in these developments leading up to the Anglosphere’s effective launch of a war on Russia? This appears to be about Anglosphere ruling class ambition.

Among other pithy comments:
In 2020, Finland’s exports were valued at 66 billion dollars. You understand what a relatively paltry figure that is when you consider that the United States is proposing 40 billion dollars to try to prop up the failing Ukrainian military.
Finland’s military–25,000 personnel–is the equivalent of two U.S. military divisions. Just enough soldiers to justify future NATO training exercises and command positions for western officers looking to punch a ticket to get promoted.
From NATO’s perspective, Finland is just another sucker to be enlisted as a buyer of Western military gear. Finland’s role in NATO, if it comes to pass, is simple and stark–create a trip wire on Russia’s border for starting a nuclear world war. If you are comfortable with that I think you are a moron. But on the bright side, your status as a moron qualifies you to serve in NATO’s leadership.
And by use of the Democracy Rhetoric, the Neocons are threatening every non Western Country…. Especially the Brics.
